I think we name Shaun Rogers the QB. He hasn't been playing so he can practice his reps at QB in complete secrecy.

We must be slipping: practically a whole weekend without QB talk. Mangini is meeting with the media today - will he announce the starter?

BEREA, Ohio -- Browns coach Eric Mangini has decided on his starting quarterback, and he's keeping it a secret as long as he can.
Mangini declined to name his starter for Sunday's season opener against Minnesota. Before practice Monday, he said he has not yet told Brady Quinn or Derek Anderson who won the job.
Mangini says he will not publicly announce his starter because as a former defensive coordinator he feels it gives his team a competitive advantage against the Vikings and future opponents.
He says it's more difficult to prepare for two players than it is to prepare for one.
Quinn and Anderson have been competing for the starting position for months, a close competition that carried through training camp and four exhibition games.

No, he won't.

This is the kind of stupid crap that got Bellyache ran out of Cleveland, and mangini out of NY. If you pull stuff like this you better win, because if not the media is going to turn on you quick if things go badly. The troubling thing about this is that Bellyache has learned from his mistakes in Cleveland..........doesn't seem like EM has so far.
Oh well if he wins it doesn't matter.........but if not watch out for the vultures to circle quickly. The media can be very unforgiving.
Against logic, the most effective armor is willful ignorance.

Is that why he has Brady on the injury list for every game?
If a coach thinks it will help, how is that stupid. Have you ever prepared a NFL team for another in a weeks time? He has stated that when he was a DC, he was a good one remind you, it was something that was hard to do( preparing for two seperate guys)
IMO it is his call. The press and the bashers are just using this as one more reason to talk about Mangini in a bad light. This competition will have no bearing on how long he is in town. Too many fans think the media have more influence on teams then is reality.
Just reading your posts, and you calling Belichek, Bellyache is proof of your bias. Just think if Art didn't move the team and BB was here for a few more years. Maybe the dynasty he has in NE could have been here in Cleveland. Probably not though, because some fans didn't like him personally and would have would have made him leave on his own.
Mangini has not taken this team to the field in a regular season game, yet he is bashed and made fun of constantly. Many say he tries to be Belichek. Maybe Belichek liked him BECAUSE he reminded him of himself. I could care less if he smiles on the sidelines, smiles don't win games, intensity does. Belichek is considered the best coach in the league right now. This guy worked for him and learned from him. Mangini trying to emulate Belichek can only be a good thing. When you learn something from someone successful at something, using their ways is a smart approach.
So all you bashers live it up. Just don't forget all your petty criticisms if he turns out to be a great fit for this team.

On a side note. IMO his personality had nothing to do with him being fired in New York. I honestly believe they thought they had Cowher in the bag.
