It's the most wonderful time of the year! Football is in full swing (or pretty much over if you're a Browns fan ), and the MLB postseason is starting! The Twins/Tigers 1 game playoff is one of the most entertaining baseball games I've seen in awhile. 3-2 Tigers in the 7th, and a 2 run homerun makes it 4-3 Twins. Then Ordonez hits a solo shot to lead off the 8th to make it 4-4. Tigers get 1st and 3rd in the 9th, with nobody out. Joe Nathan gets a strike out, then a linedrive to short, which catches the guy off first base for a DP. Then the Tigers score 1 in the top of the 10th. The the Tigers tie it up, with 1 out, and runners on 1st and 3rd. Line drive to left, runner tags and gets thrown out at the plate. Now, there's 2 outs in the Top of the 11th, in a 5-5 game.

The play at the plate to end the 10th was close. I thought he might have gotten his hand in there before the tag. He probably would've been safe if he didn't have to take a step back to the bag after the catch...

Yup, how are you not on the bag the second that thing gets hit? I get that it was a liner but you have to stay near the bag anyway.....just kept yer dang foot on the bag. He's safe if he does that.
Go game though. Classic. If you're not watching, turn it on (TBS).

What a heads up play by Punto that might have saved the Twins.

Good game, I normally don't watch baseball except for the Tribe.

I'm the same way. Unless its the Sox, I usually don't watch.
But, I do watch the postseason, and games like this, regardless of who's playing.

I thought he was safe too, brad, from the one replay they showed. This has been a great ball game, though. Kinda reminds me of Sox/Angels in 1986, Game 5.
Twins won just as I was finishing this post. lol, great game.

Me three...
I love playoff baseball...
What a game that was!
Hopefully they can take down the Yankees, but I doubt it. Yankees were 7-0 against the Twins this year, but the Twins have been hot the past few weeks. No Justin Morneau will hurt though...

That was a great win and a helluva comeback by the Twins winning 17 of their last 21 games. plus the Tigers lost!

I'd rather the Yankees (or the Twins, whoever comes out of that series), because I am tired of the Red Sox. No offense top. The Red Sux are as bad as the Yankees when it comes to buying championships.

I'm rooting for the Twins in the AL and Cards in the NL. I'm sure that means they'll both get knocked out in the divisional series...

it'll be red sox and yankees. and it'll get saturated with coverage, and anyone who isn't a fan of either, won't care.

I don't want either one of them to win, but if it has to be one of them then I would rather have Boston. I would rather have Victor win than CC.

Don't count the Twins out. Historically at home in the playoffs (since the Metrodome was built) they're almost unbeatable. If only they can take one in NY.

This is THE problem; question whether their pitching can hold up,...I'm pulling for the Twins and the Cards.

I hope the Twins beat the evil empire. The only bad thing if they do is the claim that there is no need for a salary cap. MLB still needs one.

Bottom of the 6th in Philly, Phils up 2-0 over the Rockies. Cliff Lee is pitching a 3-hitter. Charlie Manuel has about a pound of gristle in his mouth, judging from his cheek size and chewing motion. OK, now its 3-0, still bottom of the 6th.

Complete game victory for Cliff Lee ... can't help but wonder what happens if he's a part of the rotation here in '07 instead of going on the DL with a muscle pull, being relegated to AAA for the whole season, and then being left off the playoff roster by Wedge. I have no doubt CC Sabathia will shake off his playoff failures of the past and be totally stellar tonight for the Yankees. Its the Cleveland in me. Anyhoo, good luck to all the ex-Indians in the MLB playoffs. Yay, Indians.

Yup.....CC will go on to become the AL MVP of the WS......and prove even further, it was actually the fault of him being in Cleveland, not him not being clutch.

Just about everyone the Tribe has traded the last 2 years is in the playoffs - CC, Lee, Pavano, Byrd, Victor, Betancourt, Blake and Derosa
I think pretty much everyone but Garko...

I was just talking the guys we traded in the last 2 years, but yeah you can count them and Manny as former Indians too in the playoffs...

I forgot about him too.
I think the only others we missed were Ryan Ludwick on the Cards and Alan Embree. He's on the Rockies DL though...

With some minor infield adjustment, that's an entire defense and 6 pitchers.
Unbelieveable,...well,....guess not.

Denver forecast for Saturday in 32 and snow. If the Rockies game doesn't get snowed out, it's going to feel like a football game.

I count 18 ex-Indians on the playoff teams: Starters: Byrd, Sabathia, Pavano, Lee Relievers: Mota, Betancourt, Herges, Rincon, Embree (DL) Catcher: Martinez Infield: Izturis, Blake, Belliard, Thome (1B/DH), DeRosa Outfield: Ramirez, Ludwick, Francisco
You could win a lot of games with that as the start of a team roster ... wonder what the payroll would be?

Anyone watch the end of the Cards-Dodgers game? Cards LF Matt Holliday took a line drive right in the junk for an error with 2 outs and the Cards up 2-1. Dodgers ended up winning 3-2...

Yeah, I saw it. Looked like my softball team,...you can always tell exactly at what point the sky is starting to fall. Felt bad for the guy, but he totally misplayed it. Cowherd had picked the Cards to sweep,....
