They might... it's just a contract, they can write in any stipulations that they can get the other team to agree to. Playoffs, no playoffs...whatever.
Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

Awrrright.. lets see if I have this right.. with the help of this web site: http://www.draftinsiders.com/node/35
NFL Draft 2010 Traded Picks Updated 10/1/09 <~~ Thats a problem here.. not updated as of today.. dammit
NFL Free Agency Period starts March 5, 2010 thru July 2010 NFL Trading Period is open until Oct. 20, 2009
1st round - Normal first round pick
2nd round - Normal second round pick 2nd round - See 3rd round notes possible pick based on escalators
3rd round - Normal 3rd round pick 3rd round - Cleveland possible conditional pick from NY Jets - WR Braylon Edwards (Could climb to a 2nd round pick based on escalators)
4th round - Normal 4th round pick
5th round - Normal 5th round pick 5th round - Cleveland from Tampa Bay - TE Kellen Winslow (Browns also got #2 pick in '09 Draft) 5th round - Cleveland from NY Jets - WR Braylon Edwards
6th round - Normal 6th round pick
7th round - Normal 7th round pick?
Other unknown Conditional picks:
Cleveland from Carolina - DT Louis Leonard
Ok guys.. what am I missing? I see other posters saying we have these picks I've listed and more?
Since I'm greedy and have always wanted the Browns to trade back I want them to do so again..depending on who would be sitting there prior to the tradedown..people think for a second..not only do we need LB's/ S/OT/RB ,we'll need another WR...NOW I would have liked to see a high pick from the Jets but since it didn't happen, this is what the hand is.. Edwards would have dealt at the trade deadline from I heard..wonder who/what would have been there..

just reminded me....it was out there last year that part of the Packers compensation from the Jets was how far Favre got them...
something like 70% of the snaps and playoffs it's a 2nd.... 80% of the snaps and going to the superbowl it became a 1stround pick.

Trunsick- another special teamer??? those 2 picks better include a first rounder.
Why in the hell do we get a special teamer???
The only part of our team that's worth anything is our special teams. Couldn't we have shored up something else?
3rd and a 5th....I realize he will be gone in 3 months, but damn.....the Jets continue to rape us.

HOORAY!!!! I could not wait to get home from work to read this very post or one just like it.....!!! Been waiting for this news since last year!!!! Contrary to what some people are saying abut the O being even worse now. I think we possbily could get better. We saw a rookie show BE how it is done. Now we may get to see Robo in the very least due an impression of BE playing poorly on the field. Which in turn will free up MoMass for more WR goodness. (IT COULD HAPPEN) Oh and this is priceless!!!! Quote:
Braylon just so you know, you were traded because you went to Michigan, not because you are a receiver who can't catch the ball who acts like a complete jerk all the time.
LMAO!! and this!!!!

I don't see it that way.
I see a coach who wants good football players on his team no matter where they contribute...and guys like Edwards, who don't contribute off the team.
What's to not like about that??
As for the picks....good deal, and I read in places the 3rd could become a 2nd....and braby might do well in NY...I hope so anyway.
Mangini has a vision.
We might as well hope it is clear....and I think it is...I don't think many ever really though Braby was a answer for this team.
Questioning things at this point is just sour grapes at this point

and Mangini is gonna want his guy (Robo) to succeed regardless of his playing time so far anyway... If MoMass becomes a number one (wow), and Robo steps up and becomes a go to guy like an Anquan Boldin... and then add the other WR's we have... Stuckey.. Furrey.. Cribbs... We will be fine... may not see it against the bills this week.. lol.. but we will be fine.. I was close about Braylon... I thought he would go to New York.. just not the jets.. lol.. but he didn't have any say in that one... I wonder if Braylon had the right to veto the trade.. that would be interesting... if Braylon could have stopped the trade, but said heck with it.. lets go.. wow. Guess he'll start doing GQ mags with Sanchez.. no homo..

I also read that hitting the escalator to get the 2nd probably won't happen, it's reportedly a very high number of catches.

Because no Refs are on right now to close it?
I think the 9 page thing is silly. It comes from the old board where it was a problem to run them past 9 pages...I'm pretty sure this boards software could handle it.

It's most likely around 12 or so for Braylon, so no, he won't reach it.

We're down to four #1's left on the team. Of Quinn amd Wimbley,I'm wondering which will be the next to go. Questioning why we stink on ice? Re-read the first sentence.

Stuckey has been more productive than Braylon this year
I actually think that Both teams benefit from the trade! The Jets really needed another receiver to help the rookie QB and Braylon can be a game changer (if he gets his head outta his butt). We get another slot receiver (that was starting), another star special-teamer (special teamer of the week 3), and two extra draft picks next year. It also gives Robo a chance to shine!!! JMHO Go Brownies!!!

Hank Poteat? Nick Sorensen? Those are the names that comes to mind. With Adams playing Corner and Furrey as our Third safety..those would be my guesses.

Uh ... yeah ... that was my point.
When a player is established it has nothing to do with where you were drafted. Braylon, despite being drafted #3, has not played like a top 10, or even a 1st round, pick. So setting his trade value based on where he was drafted 4 years ago is idiotic. You base it on what he's actually done in those 4 years.
I was not comparing Brady to that WR we got from the Jets.
Apologies...I thought your intent was to compare Stuckey to Brady's situation. My mistake.

Edwards might be 6'3" 205 and run a 4.4, but his attitude is that of a 4 year old and his ability to run routes, catch the ball, and focus on execution is probably slightly above that of a 10 year old running down the field yelling "I'm open James. James! James! James! I'm open." (sorry had to hear that today a lot while watching the kids at recess)
You are forgetting that Edwards was also not a good blocker.

I have to disagree there. I thought that Edwards did a pretty nice job blocking downfield in the running game. I think we'll miss that aspect of his game.
Ge also did play all out as demonstrated in gis running down the DB after Anderson's interceprion last week. If he didn't make that play, no one would have.
Edwards had some good and some bad ....... I don't think he was going to fit here ...... but he wasn't all bum as some want to make him out to be.

Do u remember that pass to Furrey.. quick short pass that was suppose to be set up with an Edwards block, kinda like a screen? Edwards let the defender come right in for the tackle.
He may give it all sometimes.. but I want someone who is gonna give it their all every play.

BE had three or four BLOWN blocks just in last weeks game alone, and has had several others this season.
and we have not even talked about how many penalities BE racks up every year. I'm going off of memory only on this so I may be wrong, but I think he had six of them already this year.
