I really don't think he would have been. For one, he wasn't and isn't a great fit for the 3-4. And considering we already had a MIKE, taking an ILB that high simply wasn't going to happen.
Also, I saw somewhere where we all but agreed to trade with the Jets on the Friday before the draft.
Tebow is garbage. Look they took away his 2 receivers awy from a year ago, now he can't do much of anything as a passer. He has 8tds, and 5ints, yet he still gets mentioned in the heisman discussion. I wouldn't waste a first day pick on this guy, unless I had a team that was contending and had multiple picks. He may be a tight end, or a qb that runs the wildcat, but that's about it.
I don't think so. Miami already has their wildcat QB in White if he turns out, and Jacksonville is in no place to draft a gimmick player.
I don't even think that Tebow can be an H-Back/tight end. In order to play that position, you need to be strong, fast, or a lesser combination of both. Tebow isn't good enough at either. He'd have to gain at least 10-20 pounds of muscle to play there. I see him as a wildcat QB or a guy for sneaks in his current state. His best bet might be going to a team like the Colts who have time to completely rework his motion and footwork.
Mount Cody really helped his stock, and I'm becoming a big fan of Allen Bailey as a 3-4 end. Jonathan Dwyer is helping to get his stock back up. He's a guy I would like in the 2nd.
I want nothing to do with Tebow, I feel like people are thinking about him bc he is a name. Cody did play well. I really wanted to watch Decker play this week, but didn't happen.

OU's Bradford to have surgery, will enter NFL Draft Oct. 25, 2009 CBSSports.com wire reports
NORMAN, Okla. -- Heisman Trophy winner Sam Bradford will have season-ending surgery and expects to enter the NFL draft in April.
The Oklahoma quarterback injured his right, throwing shoulder twice this season, most recently against Texas on Oct. 10.
The school announced Sunday that Dr. James Andrews will perform the operation Wednesday in Birmingham, Ala.
Bradford added that he intends to enter the draft if the recovery goes as anticipated. The rehabilitation time for the surgery is estimated at four to six months. How about Dorin Dickerson as a tight end for us. He's flying under the radar putting up some big numbers down at Pitt. Has the size and strength to play tight end in the pros and would be a great receiving threat for us.
This is a tough spot for the Browns. I wanted to give them a quarterback, but the top three guys are all off the board. Ndamukong Suh and Eric Berry also make a ton of sense, but they're gone as well. And rush linebacker is a big need, but no team is going to take one this high because they have an enormous bust rate (it's hard to project a player into the 3-4).
With most of their options gone, Rolando McClain makes the most sense. The Browns desperately need help at inside linebacker next to D'Qwell Jackson. Jackson and McClain would be an incredible tandem in the middle of Cleveland's defense.
------
The first 6 picks (frankly, I would be absolutely amazed if we drop as low as 7th):
1. Titans: Jimmy Clausen, QB Notre Dame 2. Rams: Jake Locker, QB Washington 3. Buccaneers: Ndamukong Suh, DT, Nebraska 4. Redskins: Sam Bradford, QB, Oklahoma 5. Chiefs: Russell Okung, OT, Oklahoma State 6. Lions: Eric Berry, S, Tennessee
My latest mock: Order is stolen from ESPN power rankings. Very short explanations.
1. St. Louis Rams: Jimmy Clausen QB Notre Dame – It is beyond obvious that the Rams need a QB.
2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Gerald McCoy DT Oklahoma – The Bucs need a defensive tackle who can offer a pass rush from the inside.
3. Cleveland Browns: Eric Berry S Tennessee – The Browns are in need of a playmaker on defense and their pass coverage is awful.
4. Tennessee Titans: Ndamukong Suh DT Nebraska – Tennessee is missing Haynesworth more than anyone knew they would.
5. Kansas City Chiefs: Russell Okung OT Oklahoma St. – The Chiefs need more help in protecting Cassel. This allows them to move Albert to guard or right tackle.
6. Oakland Raiders: Carlos Dunlap DE Florida – Al Davis loves physical freaks and the Raiders need help along the defensive line.
7. Detroit Lions: Bryan Bulaga OT Iowa – Detroit should have taken Michael Oher to protect Matthew Stafford. They can fix the mistake by taking Bulaga.
8. Washington Redskins: Sam Bradford QB Oklahoma – Jason Campbell is a bust and the Redskins need someone to run their west coast offense.
9. San Francisco 49ers (from Carolina): Taylor Mays S Southern California – San Francisco needs a free safety to help them in coverage.
10. Seattle Seahawks: Jake Locker QB Washington – The Seahawks take the local quarterback to bring youth to the position.
11. Buffalo Bills: Dez Bryant WR Oklahoma St. – Buffalo takes the best player available who fits a big need for them.
12. Jacksonville Jaguars: Greg Hardy DE/OLB Ole Miss – Hardy can offer a pass rush for the Jaguars regardless of what defensive scheme they go with.
13. San Francisco 49ers: Trent Williams OT Oklahoma – Taking Williams brings San Francisco a right tackle to play opposite of Joe Staley and improve their run game.
14. Miami Dolphins: Rolando McClain LB Alabama – The Dolphins need someone at linebacker and McClain gives them a player who could be like Patrick Willis.
15. Denver Broncos (from Chicago): Arthur Jones DE Syracuse – Denver doesn’t have too many needs, but Jones gives them depth and talent at defensive line.
16. Houston Texans: Joe Haden CB Florida – Even if Dunta Robinson does stick around, the Texans need someone to start opposite of him.
17. San Diego Chargers: Terrence Cody DT Alabama – Jamal Williams has problems staying on the field, and is past his prime.
18. New York Jets: Allen Bailey DE Miami – The Jets most obvious need is at defensive end and Bailey is a physical freak who will rise up draft boards after the combine.
19. Baltimore Ravens: Sean Weatherspoon LB Missouri – Ozzie Newsome is well known for taking the best player available, and the Ravens’ defense isn’t what it once was.
20. Green Bay Packers: Charles Brown OT Southern California – The Packers need help both protecting Aaron Rodgers and opening up the run game. Brown is a great fit for their zone blocking scheme.
21. Philadelphia Eagles: Brandon Spikes LB Florida – Spikes offers the versatility to play either the SAM or the MIKE for the Eagles.
22. Atlanta Falcons: Travis Lewis LB Oklahoma – The Falcons have yet to really replace Michael Boley, and they make a slight reach on Lewis.
23. Arizona Cardinals: Jerry Hughes DE/OLB TCU – Arizona needs more pass rush help and Hughes could soar up draft boards by April.
24. Dallas Cowboys: Damian Williams WR Southern California – Jerry Jones wants to have a high powered passing offense to go with their power run game.
25. New York Giants: Anthony Davis OT Rutgers – The Giants have no real needs, but they could use depth on the defensive line.
26. Pittsburgh Steelers: Jahvid Best RB California – With Willie Parker likely on his way out, the Steelers look for a speed back to go with Rashard Mendenhall.
27. Cincinnati Bengals: Jermaine Gresham TE Oklahoma – The only weakness on the Bengals offense is the tight end position.
28. New England Patriots: Everson Griffen DE/OLB Southern California – Even with all their efforts to bolster the linebacking unit, the Patriots still lack a pass rusher.
29. Minnesota Vikings: Brandon Graham DE Michigan – Ray Edwards is a free agent and the Vikings draft Graham to give them a stud opposite of Jared Allen.
30. Seattle Seahawks (from Denver): Jonathan Dwyer RB Georgia Tech – It is obvious to even the most casual of fans that the Seahawks lack a real running back.
31. New Orleans Saints: Marvin Austin DT North Carolina – Austin gives the Saints another defensive tackle to help out Sedrick Ellis.
32. Indianapolis Colts: Patrick Robinson CB Florida St. – Marlin Jackson and Antoine Bethea are both free agents and the Colts lack depth in their secondary.
With our 2nd rounders (I'll assume the Jets have to give their 3rd to the Iggles so we get their 2nd) we can have Ryan Matthews RB Fresno State and Derrick Morgan DE/OLB Georgia Tech. Our 3rd can be Ciron Black OT LSU.
I love the Berry pick. I started pimpimg him last year and he has done nothing but confirm my initial impressions. He can cover, he can tackle, he is a ballhawk and playmaker. Already the defense is markedly improved
I really like Jerry Hughes. Mark my words. If he is drafted by a 3-4 team in 3 years he will be playing just like Dumerville is now for the Broncos. Now we have a pass rushing Lb. You have him going before our 2nd rnd pick. I always hate when guys I like start climbing the draft board. I would package our 2nd and a 3rd and move up to make sure I got him. Not sure how much more I would pay to make sure I got him. Would depend on the depth at 3-4 OLB.
2 picks, 2 playmakers on defense. Now we can tackle, cover, rush the Qb and get turnovers. Our defense just got a whole lot better. Unfortunately the offense still stinks. So with the next 2 picks hopefully some combination of RG/RT/RB.
We just got stronger on offense. Hopefully the young Wr's develop. As an aside I would have picked up Marvin Harrison this year. We would have overpaid for his production but seriously, whom would you prefer showing the rookies how to become professional Wr's? Edwards, Furrey or Harrison? What the rookie receivers learn just by watching this guy prepare would be invaluable.
No rookie Qb, so whom do we go with under center? Trade both DA and BQ for picks (whatever we can get - maybe just a dozen football and a trainer to be named later?). And trade for Tyler Thigpen. Young guy, strong accurate arm, has demonstrated he can be taught the pro game and actually learn and develop.
Just my 2 cents.

Again, the only problem is the same with the Browns mock I did for us. A lot of players aren't likely to drop that far. Gresham could fall that far if he has a rough combine, but he could also be a 1st rounder with a good one. I don't think it's very likely that Oghobaase falls that far, but I'd love the pick.
Basically what I'm saying is that in the event that those guys are available, I'd love the picks.
Why would we draft Aaron Pettrey with Nugent on the market? If you wanted an OSU kicker I would much rather go with him. I do like Pettrey though and think he has a stropng leg, just concerned with his missing of the "easy" kicks. Also Anderson Russell does in fact suck. He is a back up for the Buckeyes, not thanks.

Nope. Alex Hall and David Veikune. No matter what the Browns do this offseason, we won't be good next year. Right now we need to pick the BPA because it's gonna fit a need.

At first I didn't think Gresham could fall that far, but then I remember Michael Bush falling all the way to the 4th round. I wanted the browns to draft him too, I thought he was such a beast in college. In limited carries in Oak he has shown to be productive, and I would think any other team he would be productive back.
