In thinking about this, Randy really needs to address the fans. He needs to make an appearance, hold a press conference. That, to me, seems like the logical next step. I think it's great that he has inserted himself, I think it's great that he is making his presence felt, but it's time he stops just issuing statements and actually gets behind the mic and talks and answers some difficult questions. I know he hates doing it, I know he's not a public guy, I know he's not comfortable in that setting, but he needs to suck it up and do it. As a fan, I'd like to hear as much information as he can give me FROM HIS OWN MOUTH..... but that's just me.

Ok,, but can you wait until he has something to say.. I mean, having him talk just to talk seems odd.. I don't need to hear him tell me he wants to win, I don't need to hear him say he doesn't care about money, I don't need any of that.. I already feel it.
If he's gonna speak publicly, I'd rather wait until he's got something concrete to report..

Nah, I think most fans..........HARDCORE FANS.............understand what's happened the last few days with Lerner staring down the team and coaches then inviting the season-ticket holders inside.
There's no need to get out in front of a camera now. It won't do anything other than to make the fans want him in front of the camera more.
Everyone knows how he feels. The only thing that'll happen if he jumps in front of the camera is to cause people to expect/demand it happen more often. It won't change any feelings.
***Gordon, I really didn't think you could be this stOOpid, but you exceeded my expectations. Wussy. Manziel, see Josh Gordon. Dumbass.***

He doesn't have anything to say? There are rumors swirling about all sorts of things in Berea, people being fired, rumors as to why, a coach on the hot seat, an organization in total disarray... and he has nothing to say? He could put an end to many of the rumors in a 20 minute press conference. Heck he could even stage the questions he wants to answer... like the President. ... I wouldn't care.
He could give some indication of why Kokinis was let go... he could state that Mangini is definitely going to finish out the season then re-evaluate... he could state what we are looking for in that serious guy to run things that he wants... he could state that he's NOT getting involved in player personnel decisions... he could state A LOT of things to put peoples mind at ease... then after he did that, the next time I would expect to see him is when some personnel decisions are made...

With regards to Kokinis, apparently Lerner told the two fans that met with him in Berea yesterday that he didn't want to comment on the situation because he was afraid of embarrassing Kokinis' family.
Interesting.

LIke I said in response to another post you made,, I don't think he's got his head totally around this yet., I also think he's talking to folks to find out who this "credible' person he's promised to hire is.
Until then, what's he gonna say... Let's see.. He could say that:
mangini is in trouble (really, we never would have guessed)
we need to bring in a person to evaluate talent better, we need a PRO (What an astounding thought,,, good Idea Randy )
we need to score more points (and all this time I thought all you had to do was stop the other team from scoring,, who knew)
I think you see where I'm going. the only thing he can do at this point is to talk about what he wants to do.. or what he thinks needs done.. I believe we all know that already..
I love to hear him speak to the fans. But I'd just prefer that he does it when he's got his hands around a plan he can make happen.. JMO

That sounds like Obama and it doesn't stop him from being on television 3 times a week.
But to respond to your point.. would he be stating the obvious? In a lot of situations, yes he would.. Do I want to see him do it anyway? Yes, I do.
Here, I'll write what I would like to hear him say...
"The Cleveland Browns franchise has faced some serious upheaval in the last couple weeks/months. For starters, the team is obviously not performing up to anybodys expectations. We all expected some kind of transition to the new staff under coach Mangini but nobody expected it to be this bad. We still feel like we have some talented football players on this team and we plan to make every effort this off-season to acquire more through the draft and free agency. Regardless of what is going on in Berea, the Browns fans are extremely frustrated with what they have seen on the field week in and week out and we understand that. In the NFL, it is almost impossible to make any changes midseason to turn something like this around. Rest assured that we are going to assess every aspect of our organization from the structure of the front office, to the front office personnel and the coaching personnel, to the players on the field and we will make whatever changes we feel need to be made to get this thing headed in the right direction.
I have spoken with coach Mangini and informed him that he will, without question, remain as the headcoach of the Cleveland Browns through the remainder of this season. As our review into what changes need to be made goes forward, obviously, the coaching staff is a big part of that and those decisions will be made at the end of the season.
I've already stated my intention to bring in a strong leader to oversee all of the football operations, the details of what role and responsibilities that person will have is still under consideration. Since we aren't even 100% certain what the role will be we certainly don't have any candidates in mind yet and we have not been in contact with anybody specifically about that position.
As for the termination of Mr. Kokinis, the details of that will not now, or ever, be made public by the Cleveland Browns. It was an internal matter and we are choosing to keep it that way. Do not read into this that we think Mr. Kokinis is 100% to blame for our record or our performance on the field because that is not the case. Changes had to be made and we are moving forward.
Thank you, first question please."
Would we learn anything? Nope. Would I still feel better? Oddly, yes.

Thank you <walks away from podium>
no reason to let guys like Grossi ask the same questions over and over hoping for a badly worded response when you transcripted such a good statement.

Ouch!! I sure hope Randy's not a pathological liar with an over inflated ego that wants to destroy any semblance of dissent to his dictatorial plans.

Interesting.
I know Mangini made that remark in his press conference. I'd never heard Lerner made that same comment. Do you have a link to that?
It seems very odd the owner would say a thing like that to two fans.
