The Browns are not for sale, and be happy for it, no matter what you hear from the television version of The National Enquirer.
That's a pretty accurate description of WOIO....
Here's the thing,,,, The WOIO article was loosely based on a letter written to Plain Dealer reporter Phillip Morris (no, I'm not making that name up) by Bill Bonsewicz in response to a particularly shortsighted article Morris wrote. Paraphraseing, Morris was questioning Lerners commitment to the Browns now that he has a toy in England..
As if it matters... Morris isn't the brightest bulb in the lamp so it's no surprise from him,, Bonsewicz (sp) may have been a little cavalier about his response which isn't all the bright either.. I bet he's sorry for that LOL

For example, let's say the Peyton Manning of the EPL (whoever that is) is under contract to Manchester United and Lerner wants to purchase his contract. Manchester United owner Malcolm Glazer might say, "You can have him for $200 million" and then it would be up to Lerner to make or decline the deal. Players under contract in the NFL cannot switch teams.
Can you imagine such a system? One would definitely need a numbers guy to crunch all of the increased revenue from ticket sales and sales of merchandise due to bringing a big name in, and decide if it is equitable to make such a move - even extending it out over time, with many variables. I would guess that is the bottom line with this type of system - will it make the owner money.

I finally got a chance to actually see the piece on this at WOIO's website http://www.woio.com/ and all I can say is these guys are really very odd.. Clearly, they are really ticked off a Lerner..

WOIO sees a moving truck in Berea and asks again if the Browns are moving. Truck pulls up to a house and moves a piano. WOIO wonders why the Browns are storing things in this person's house. CHANNEL 19 IS EVERYWHERE ...

He doesn't start at 19 prob till his contract is up. I just noticed it on their site when I first heard about this Browns For Sale crap. Cleveland, OH - One of Cleveland's preeminent Investigative Reporters, 31 time Emmy Winner Carl Monday is leaving WKYC to join 19 Action News.
Monday is a long time veteran investigator instantly recognizable to an entire generation of Cleveland TV viewers as a no-nonsense, hard-hitting reporter. He'll be reunited with The Investigator Tom Meyer, himself a 53 time Emmy winner.
If 2 newsbums in Cleveland can get 84 Emmy's between them, it just proves that they will give an Emmy to anyone and they have no REAL value.
We don't have to agree with each other, to respect each others opinion.

I think it's just the collective punch in the face that several people want to give him.
Did anyone catch his piece on the market last night?

19 has the pre-game program that has Tony Grossi on it.
Actually, Grossi is associated with Channel 3 there Purp.... Are we having number problems this morning sir
Hey, details and facts aren't troublesome to the media, they shouldn't be to me either
Yeah, I was on a roll with this yesterday morning
I still stand by the media collusion thing though.
Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

Regarding Carl Monday,, Romona Robinson said something after the report on the Westside Market. She said that it will be his last for channel 3 and that he's leaving for another station.. I guess he still has a segment or so coming up on Channel 3 but essentially, he must be gone.
I did see the report and some of that stuff made me a little sick,, I mean, the stuff you take home and cook is no big deal,,, but the lunch meat thing or the shrimp thing bothered me..

What was it, specifically? I went to bed before the report, and it's not online.
Having worked at the market when I was younger, I had first hand experience of what went on down there. While I wasn't privy much to the meathouse, what I remember was that aside from the usual bloody mess from cuting the stuff, it was pretty clean and sanitary...as compared to the old chicken house that used to be just north of the produce stands.
