VIP Partier tells story

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. -- A young woman told Channel 4 Action News on Friday that she was one of about 20 who partied with Ben Roethlisberger at the Capital City nightclub last week on the night that a female college student told police she was sexually assaulted by the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback.

"Everyone keeps talking about how nice he was. He was not nice," the woman said.

She told reporter Ari Hait that people who were with Roethlisberger invited her into the VIP area of the club in Milledgeville, Ga. She said the quarterback hit on her there and she found him to be arrogant, so she left.

"He bought a round of shots for girls and said, 'All you bitches, take my shots,' and I got pissed because that's very rude and disrespectful to call girls a bunch of bitches," she said.

The woman said that, before she left, she saw Roethlisberger with the woman who would eventually become his accuser. She didn't think anything of it until the next morning when she heard about the accusations.

Look for updates on this page and hear the woman's story tonight on WTAE Channel 4 Action News at 5 p.m.

Roethlisberger has not been charged with any crimes. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is continuing to investigate the 20-year-old woman's claims of what happened to her in the early-morning hours of March 5.

Hait reported that Roethlisberger has hired private investigator Charles Mittelstadt, who has worked on behalf of Baltimore Ravens star Ray Lewis and rapper T.I. in the past. Also working for Roethlisberger is attorney Ed Garland, who represented Lewis on a murder charge in 2000 that was eventually dropped.

Mittelstadt told Channel 4 Action News on Friday that his team is looking into every aspect of the woman's allegation, including her sobriety on the night in question.

Also on Friday, the local Union-Recorder newspaper published a photo that shows Milledgeville Police Sgt. Jerry Blash posing with his arm around Roethlisberger hours before the alleged victim approached Blash to report that she was assaulted.

Police Chief Woodrow Blue told the newspaper that even though Blash wrote the incident report -- which did not include Roethlisberger's name -- he had little involvement in the subsequent investigation and the picture of Blash with Roethlisberger did not affect the investigation "at all."

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is handling the majority of the investigation because of the Milledgeville Police Department's limited resources.

What a complete loser. Good example to set for kids who look up to you- or who used to look up to you.

Gimme a draft bust over a good qb who turns out to be a complete scum anyday. - We can replace guys like Derrick Anderson with other quarterbacks, what we can't replace is the integrity of our football team and city. - Both of which are in question in Pittsburgh because of what their drunken hillbilly quarterback has done. - The funny thing in all of this is, the accuser in the RENO sexual assault case just got a huge dose of credibility.

So Ben hired his own private investigator, huh? Why? To dig up any dirt he can find on the accuser - anything at all.

Steelers | Concerned about Roethlisberger
Comment (0)
Sun, 21 Mar 2010 17:15:29 -0700

Ron Fritz, of The Baltimore Sun, reports the Pittsburgh Steelers are concerned about the sexual assault charges against QB Ben Roethlisberger. "I'm highly concerned for our franchise and for Ben personally," head coach Mike Tomlin told the NFL Network's Jennifer Allen, according to NFL.com. Tomlin added, "My concerns are many, but I think at this time it's kind of appropriate to watch these things and let these things run their course. I think it would be inappropriate for me to have strong feelings one way or another with the investigation being ongoing and so forth. Like everyone else, you watch these things unfold."

Steelers | Holmes accused of attack in nightclub
Comment (0)
Mon, 29 Mar 2010 07:40:24 -0700

Jason Cato, of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, reports Pittsburgh Steelers WR Santonio Holmes is accused of injuring a woman at a Florida nightclub, according to Courthouse News Service. Holmes reportedly threw a glass filled with booze into a woman's face, cutting her near the eye. The report states that the nightclub removed Anshonoe Mills from the premises after the altercation and that Orlando police refused to take a report. Details of the alleged incident are included in a civil lawsuit Mills filed last week in Florida against Holmes and J.J. Whispers Group Inc. She claims the attack happened March 7 at the Rain Night Club in Orlando.

Holmes and Big Ben should see about going out on a double date. They sure have a way with the ladies.

These two better watch out or the Bungles will be trying to deal with the Squeelers to get them on their roster. They fit right in.

What a tool...

Santonio Holmes invites fan to commit suicide, Twitter style
Posted by Mike Florio on March 30, 2010 3:12 PM ET

Earlier today, we pointed out that Steelers receiver Santonio Holmes has been trading jabs with fans via Twitter, in the wake of Monday's news that he has been sued for assault and battery.

We noticed, for example, that Holmes reminded one fan that the fans don't cut Holmes' checks.

We hadn't noticed a far less charitable exchange with another fan. Holmes accuses the fan of trying to make Holmes look like the bad guy, and then says that the fan "shud try finding the worst thing that you could drink n kill urself."

Nice.

So while Holmes looks to be in the clear from the perspective of the Orlando Police Department, he's still going to have some explaining to do to the folks who actually cut his checks.

Hellooooo, McFly?!?!?!?!

Are you kidding me?

You're a high profile NFL star. You were just accused of assaulting a woman. Your QB is accused to the 2nd time in less than a year of sexual assaulting/raping a woman. You yourself have been arrested on more than one occasion. So your team, the owners, the fans, and the rest of the sports world will be closely watching everything you do.

And you say this to someone on your Twitter account: you "shud try finding the worst thing that you could drink n kill urself."

Just a general remark ....

It is truly amazing how these college students, with 1st round talent, seem to have 1st grade brains.

People talk about the NBA being Thug Central ..... but the NFL has lapped them quite a few times in the past few years.

Not smack ... but true nonetheless.

While your right, you also have to consider. Do you honestly know how you'd be if you had that kind of money at such an early age?

Don't get me wrong, there's things some of these guys are doing that are just ridiculous.

But, some of the smaller things, like when a player gets caught with some weed, I find it hard to crucify the guys. Honestly, if I had that much money, I'd have to find some way to spend it, and I'd probably be tokin' up, too.

I read this on a questionable website but if this is true, WOW

Boston attorney Harry Manion claims that he recently investigated accusations against Ben Roethlisberger that the Steelers' quarterback may have sexually assaulted yet another (unnamed) woman in Nevada.

Manion claims the allegations were "absolutely identical to this Georgia girl’s story," of which charges were dismissed on Monday. Manion's alleged case never made it to legal or civil court, but this is an obvious trend. "There is a history here that is just super troubling," added Manion. "And the next one, the wrath of God’s going to come down on him, if there is a next one."
