IMO it is dead last.
Arm strength is WAY overated. Not that it dosent matter...just the others are WAY more important.
Arm strength is the cherry on top.
You dont have to win every game just the next one!

well, it's not first,, otherwise, Anderson would be the prototypical QB...
I really think the point is,, you don't need a cannon for an arm.. but you do need enough arm to ZIP it 25 or 30 yards.. Most times, if I'm understanding this right, in the WCO, 15 yards is the most average length of a pass... I mean in the air.. not considering YAC..
Do I understand that average length of a WCO pass correctly?

Right, I'm not saying arm strength is the most important. I'm just saying it certainly isn't the least important. The ball has to get to the receiver at some point. We can't Charlie Frye's rainbows floating all over the field.

very interesting article. thanks for posting.
1) i KNEW quinn wasn't liked by teammates. sure the holdout might suck but this guy reeked of being fake and overly self-absorbed. he knows what to say when a microphone or camera is pointed at him but you DON'T get punched by a pro player for nothing. news came out that players preferred DA and some of those players went public. that quinn was benched after 2.5 games last season was another sign. all of these things pointed to quinn not being liked and few believed me.
that said, just as it was said by another poster, that's not why he's gone. but it sure sheds some light as to why players kept rolling their eyes and ignoring quinn when he was talking.
2) an aspect i never thought of was the idea that, if your LT is all-world, your pass rusher, who goes against him, might lose confidence from never being able to beat him. i can see that but i was really hoping it would push him to get better.

You likely may be able to view it on the official site. You can also check their video section by clicking the 'Browns Sights & Sounds' link in the upper right on here.

Some people it would lead them to want to get better. Different personality traits might have led Kam to be an imposing force. Either way, he'll do a lot better in practivce against Robert Gallery or whoever else they have at LT in Oakland. I really liked him and thought he was a very solid football player.

we agree. the only problem is, if his main job is supposed to be to provide a pass rush, he didn't do his job. mangini and ryan showed he doesn't need a stud to generate pressure and sacks. the scheme gets the job done for them. wimbley developed as a overall linebacker but that isn't what we picked him for.

j/c the real source of our problems, with quinn or any qb: Quote:
NFL teams have picked 30 quarterbacks in the first round since 1999. Of those 30, I'd say six (McNabb, Carson Palmer, Eli Manning, Philip Rivers, Ben Roethlisberger, Aaron Rodgers) have turned into top-flight starters. Six more (Chad Pennington, Jay Cutler, Joe Flacco, Matt Ryan, Vick, Daunte Culpepper) have been well worth the pick; Vick, remember, had the Falcons on strong playoff runs early in his career.
The other 18 include four No. 1 overall picks (Tim Couch, David Carr, Alex Smith, JaMarcus Russell) who have either failed or need career CPR to get back on track. Joey Harrington, Akili Smith, Cade McNown, Kyle Boller, J.P. Losman -- finished far too soon. Twelve success stories out of 30, with a few more hanging in the balance.

Yeah, right now it's All Bets are Off with Drennan. I'm sure they'll cut away when the presser starts.
I am unfamiliar with this feeling of optimism

The press conf. needs to start. I can't watch that much more of Drennan. He comes across as not knowing anything.
I should call up and be like "Hey Bruce, we need to draft Buffy McGee. He is really fast."
I bet he would say "Yeah, that Buffy guy is good. "

It would be out of the norm for it to not be on the main site, wouldn't it?
I'm not seeing anything there, but I could have sworn that things were usually streamed Live from there.

MH" Yeah, will look at the QB's in the Draft, if we package 10 of our picks we could move up"
EM " I like Hillis as a tailback" " Vickers is a fullback"
MH " I like our 2 young WR's, but I would like to add a fast WR"
MH " Jake has NOT been promised the starting QB spot, Not fair to Seneca or any other QB we might sign"
Holmgren on OL Tony Pashos. "Tony is a big young man. My hope is he comes in and competes for that right tackle position."
Mangini on Fujita: "He's played inside. He's played outside. He can really run, which I like. You could move him around."
