they don't want brantley to be eligible for abritration a year earlier. Or free agency for that matter. The nats are doing the same thing with strasburg. I don't agree with it at all. These guys are ready for the bigs. Let them play already.

It's the nature of the business. Are they ready? Probably ... but why waste a year when the team definatly isn't contending this year. Might as well keep that extra year of arbitration/free agency and hold on to him down the road when we're contending. It's sort of like red-shirting him.

.156 (5-for-32) ? Why is everyone upset?

The inevitable 4 for 32 Branyan will bat.

Speaking of the CC trade, LaPorta is sucking canal water too.

I try not to put too much stock in how a player does after September call-ups. A lot of teams have mailed it in by then, and they are playing their younger players too.

We can afford to be patient, but if 1 out of 4 of your top prospects pans out, you're probably doing pretty well, I think.

I don't involve myself much in the Indians threads, but speaking of trades, I'm sitting here waiting for my girl to get back from happy hour with her girls, so I turned on the Rangers/BoSox game.

Our old buddy Martinez is catching, and with the Rangers still batting in the 5th, they've stolen NINE bases off of Wakefield and Martinez.

I don't think we lost much when we let him go. Yeah, Wakefield is a knuckler, but in year's past he's gotten rid of the ball so quickly that people don't steal all that much on him.

Just to recap, that's a franchise record NINE steals for the Rangers off of Martinez.

So who'd we get for him again? How's this trade look so far.........

Incidentally, the Rangers announcers are now calling Victor "Victim Martinez"

***Gordon, I really didn't think you could be this stOOpid, but you exceeded my expectations. Wussy.

Don't think I've ever seen one at-bat bring in three runs where the end result was a sac fly.

Talbot is pitching another good game. I cant find the game anywhere on TV. They are currently winning 8-1. Marte hit a 2 run homer. Mauer is sitting this game.

Its been a good game. I'm watching on MLBHD Time Warner. Really helping pass the time before the Draft and Cavs game. Talbot has looked great today!

The game originally was not supposed to be broadcast but it was announced a few days ago that the MLB Network was picking it up. Time Warner carries the MLBN; not sure the exact channel number, its in the 1300's.

Yup Talbot had a shutout against the White Sox last outing. Impressive. No earned runs this outing too. His ERA is 2.25 with a 2-1 record.

Where did we get him? He last pitched in the Bigs for the Rays in 2008. And he was with the Rays minor league team in all of 09 (though barely pitched).
