i said the same thing to my brother, brown has them playing like we are down 4 not 24. I really hope that thursday when our season ends, it takes about 10 minutes to release brown. Seriously this is pathetic that the season is on the line and this is the effort you put forth in preparation and motivation. this playoff ending is on lebron, He finally had players around him, and he failed...bad. I know everyone is worried about losing lebron, me I care less really, its not like we've been a dynasty with him. Hes a good player and obviously we are better with him than without, but its one thing to say your a leader and another thing to lead by example, he don't do that. This has been so frustrating to watch. I'm kinda glad boston will put us out of our misery because watching orlando sweep us in 4 would just make me angry. On the cleveland.com forums someone coined the perfect phrase for this team "Casualiers"

If I was at this game and was one of the people that paid money for a Cavs jersey, I'd be awfully tempted to take it off and throw it at our bench and walk out.

This is absolutely pathetic. The only thing that I can fathom is that the NBA is completely and totally rigged and LeBron has been told that he will never win a championship unless he leaves Cleveland for New York.... so in acceptance of that, they are all lying down and giving up.

It's insane, but it makes more freaking sense than what I'm seeing.

Browns is the Browns

You have to say that Gilbert was willing to spend the $$$ to try to get a team around LeBron but just couldn't land that significant guy we needed. Decent additions, but apparently we needed a blockbuster.

the deal that would have set us over was amare for hickson, if that's all that suns wanted was hickson and some picks and ferry balked, he should be gone. Amare would have fit alot better than a soft sub 50% shooter in jamison

Mo was horrible but so was everyone els is what he's saying. imo.

W/O a doubt Mo sucked. I wonder why not West now as a starter? I know he's not a long term answer, but I have a feeling we'll never win with Mo as our PG. Not trying to hate on him, but wow, this game was bad.

As for LeBron............If he's not hurting he needs to apologize to the fans for this game. Brown sure doesn't seem to do much positive either. I'm not a super basketball junkie so don't know how to replace so many parts of this team if we do in fact lose to boston.

If by some strange miracle LeBron does stay...I'd give a left uh...leg to bring in Chris Paul

Yep, that deal could have been the big one that got away.

Back to back home blowouts. If we somehow win game 6, maybe the celtics will let us play game 7 in Boston?

Ohhh well another year for a Cleveland fan. In reality, can't say I'm surprised we didn't win. We haven't won in 54 years.

It sure is disappointing but I guess we should be used to this stuff by now. It's actually easier rooting for the Browns b/c a few weeks in you know we are done.

I could argue that their search for the blockbuster is exactly the problem.. Shaq and Jamison are supposed to be the blockbusters and they are both about useless. Shaq was brought in here to do one thing, lean on Howard, something it looks like he won't even get the chance to do... this team has no chemistry, no fire...

Who do we go after as a coach?

Obviously, the answer is "Whoever LeBron wants"

I'm telling you man, there is zero percent chance of that happening. - Game 6 is going to be a laugher - Boston by 20-30.

What happened over the last two games was this: Doc Rivers figured us out. Pure and simple. Boston has the personnel and strategy they need to beat us.

This series is over.

Now it's just a matter of speculating whether Lebron stays or goes.

Amen to that. I like Lebron and all, but this will go down as one of his worst games ever. In the most crucial game of the season. On his home floor. His bad shooting night didn't bother me, but I don't understand where his defensive effort went. All season, he made his name on weakside steals and blocks. He also played the passing lanes well. If his guy didn't have the ball tonight, he was standing around.

Once it was apparent that his shots weren't going in from the outside, they should have done something to get him going. Put him on the block and let him abuse whoever is guarding him b/c he is so strong around the rim.

I know its hindsight, but I should have had a bad feeling when the Cavs spent so much time talking about Rondo and how to stop Rondo. Doc Rivers was probably praying for this, b/c more attention on Rondo means less on Allen and Pierce. And both of them woke up in this game.

Some other things I noticed:

Ray Allen knows how to use a screen; Mo Williams does not.

AP gives great effort, but is overmatched by either Rondo or Pierce.

Mo is a good player, but he no longer believes in himself. He just looks tense and unsure of what to do.

To me, this game looked like the Cavs took a punch in the mouth in the start of the 3rd and just layed down. Instead of tightening the defensive screws and working the block on offense, they got lazier and less focused on D, and stopped moving altogether on offense. I'm still shocked to see them looking at each other like they have never played together before.

Coach of the year , MVP, best record in the NBA..........

I guess contrary to popular belief, you really can polish a turd.

We were really close to getting him last year but the Suns balked at the last minute. We were trying to get him again this year but they looked like they were going to balk again so instead of getting burned Ferry just went ahead and made the deal for Jamison. At the time it was the only smart decision he could have made, especially considering he didn't have to give anything up but a late first round pick which probably would have just turned into another guy playing in Europe.

Besides, Amare has said many times he wants to play in Miami and I expect him to be there next year with Wade with the same level of confidence I expect LeBron James to be here next year. I just hope we can turn Hickson and some other pieces into a guy like Bosh or Chris Paul with a sign and trade in the offseason.

Hopefully we can get our heads out of our asses and prevent the offseason from starting this week though. The lack of effort in this game was enough to make me not even want to watch the next game for fear of losing my passion for the Cavs.

Oddly enough, that doesn't seem insane at all. - Take a look at the officiating over the last two games - deeply in Boston's favor, and it makes total sense. - The NBA tapped out the market in Cleveland while building Lebron James' star. Now, they could care less what happens to basketball here and need to move LBJ into a bigger market so that they can make more dough. - That isn't that hard to believe.

Lebron goes, Shaq retires, Z retires, and Dan Gilbert is forced to trade a couple players to save money.

Who knows where the Cavs will be in 5-10 years.

You should change your location back to Cleveland because there is no "Belief" around here anymore, and understandably so. It's games like this that leave us in disbelief.

If he leaves, I'll have little respect for him, and I don't even like the NBA very much, or live in Ohio..... and I don't really care about the Cavaliers.
Leaving would mean being a chump in his home state, turning his back on his people for something bigger when he's already got so much.

Well I don't live in Cleveland, to me Believeland is a make believe place where the fans of Cleveland sports all live through thier hopes and dreams involving sports.

It is definately a fairy tale world, well it's pretty much like a nightmare where a furry little woodland animal comes around and socks you in the balls three different times of the year.

I hope he stays ..... but I am beginning to wonder if he is a "Jordon" type who elevates the play of all around him ... or if he is "merely" an extrememly talented player.

There is nothing wrong with being a great talent .... but if that is all he is then we need a strong leader for the team besides him.

There isn't much to say about this game. Laughable. That's about it. Outscored by 26 in the second half, Lebron gets outplayed by Celtics bench players.

At least this is Cleveland, where there's always next year.

horrible horrible effort, a poor effort.

i'm not gonna flip out, but yeah, backs are against the wall, it's put up or shut up time.

and i don't get what's up with lbj. i don't understand it. the celtics are a great defensive team, but lebron over the course of his career has ripped the celtics apart, including going for 36 on average against them during the season.

i'm baffled, if he's hurt, he's hurt, and they gotta adjust, but the defense has no excuse.

i'm a mike brown guy, i've made that clear, but it's a no doubter he's gone if this thing ends thursday or sunday, it just is. even i cannot argue that.

you can't have 2 losses like that at home in a playoff series, lbj hurt or not. no excuse for it.

i'm not gonna talk about who i want to replace him, because this thing isn't over, but i am sure the cavs are not going to just hire some nobody assistant coach. ownership will go out and grab a big fish if that situation comes.

i just wonder in a desperation move, if mb will go for this small lineup that everyone has been calling for, i mean if you're gonna get fired anyway, why not?

you gotta pull out all the stops.

like i said before this game started, i don't get my panties in a bunch when we lose, so, i'm ready for thursday. game on

Well I don't think there's much doubt that he elevates the play of his team. Look at what he took to the finals in 07.

I don't care about getting the teammates involved early in the next game which he likes to do. He should just do what he did in game 3 and throw up shot after shot in the 1st quarter. Screw it.

Dear Cavs,
The team played great during the season because you guys were having FUN! Go back out there on Thursday and have FUN! That is how the team won all season and that is what got you to the post season. Why did you you change it up now? You are still the same team that had more fun than the rest of the league combin...ed. I hope you guys don't forget that... Good Luck Thursday!

The Suns are believed to like Cavaliers forward J.J. Hickson, whom they considered drafting in 2008 and is currently having a breakout sophomore season. The Cavs, however, have been reluctant to include Hickson in trade talks.

The Cavs have several other ways to get the deal done, including the expiring contract of Zydrunas Ilgauskas or a sign-and-trade with guard Wally Szczerbiak.

i will say this, wade is more like jordan than lebron is, wade refuses to lose and gives everything every night, lebron not so much, sure lebron has mad bball skills, but the killer instinct, the perseverance and instestinal fortitude like jordan had, lebron don't have it. Not sure its something you can learn.. But I love D-wades game, he and lebron need to put up or shut up and both play in cleveland somehow
