So .... since my old computer fritzed and I have this fancy new laptop ... I am trying to rebuild my favorites from memory.

Of course, I have stuff like the sports websites ..... the Akron/Cleveland/Youngstown newspaper websites .... a few TV sites such as Hulu ...... other sites on US History ....

But what are some of your favorites? They can be anything (clean) Comedy and Humor .... Sports ..... Education ..... News ..... Entertainment .... etc.

I also discovered, a little too late, a neat feature in the browser I use that saves my favorites online, and I can log into them at any time from any computer running the Maxthon browser. Pretty cool.

I have just spent an hour or so on a site that would be borderline here ..... but one of the funniest damn things I have see was an ad for back to school (college) ....

Popcorn Mac and Cheese Ramen ....... for when you're hungry, high, broke and desperate! A 600 pack is only $4.99.

www.themeparkreview.com - Great roller coaster and amusement park community. The couple who run the group organize trips every year to parks around the country and world. I'm actually going on this year's trip through the midwest in August.

www.hardocp.com - Computer hardware news and review site. Also has a great and knowledgeable community.

www.tripadvisor.com - Hotel and anything else travel reviews.

www.hotwire.com - If I'm traveling and don't need to stay in a specific neighborhood, nothing beats getting a three star hotel for $50 or $60.

Personally I like Groupon better..
groupon.com

You can get some good deals on restaurants among other things.. Though it may take you a bit of time to find something you like.. But I've taken advantage of it a few times.. Mainly with restaurant deals near me.. There are a variety of cities to choose from as well..

I just don't like the fine print at Restaurant.com where you may be able to get a $25 Gift card for a restaurant but you have to spend a minimum of $50...

Other site I enjoy is

Digg.com

This site

and google

That's great!

The Gobbler is hilarious too!

The pic for this caption is too large to post ..... but the caption is priceless.

I like www.centsports.com

They give you ten cents and you make sports bets with it. If you lose your ten cents they will give you another ten cents. If you get past $20 they will pay you. The site is legal because you are not gambling your own money. You can only win. How do they make money? Advertisements. I have made it to about $23. I like the site also because it gives you the odds on different games. Don't play for the money, however, because even if you do win you will have spent too many hours for the money you can make. Fun hobby though.

I love the site - on it almost every day.

Never cashed in though - simply cause I'm a bad bettor I guess.

But I love the site - for anyone wary about it - I've been on for about 16 months - give or take - no problems...........other than I lose too many times.

Great site.

Been on this site since it started back in like 2005/6. I am up in the hundreds but unable to cash out, for those you arent at the limit, youre entered into a pool for that week and only the top 10 betters get to cash out. Thus it forces you to bet (and win those bets) to get your score high to be able to cash out.

Back in the day you only had to get up to $10 to cash out, no questions asked. Much better back then. Still a fun site though.

I would have been over $10 but got screwed by the Lakers twice. Now I am starting over again.

Here are my 2 cents on how to play this. If you are familiar with how this site works, they pay you bonuses up to $3 and then you are on your own. This means that with the bonuses the odds are actually in your favor to win until you get to $3 and then it is in their favor.

So they don't really give you just ten cents, they give you thirty. The first thing you do is pick any even bet. If you win, they pay you 20 cents (100% bonus). If you lose then do it again. Now with your thirty cents you go all in again. With the bonus you get to nearly a dollar. Now, remembering that the odds are in your favor, you make as many small bets as you can. I usually pick slight favorites and with the bonuses you actually get paid even money or better. If you keep making lots of small bets the luck practically becomes a non factor bringing you to the $3 point. So far, no luck or skill is needed to get you to $3. The bonuses get you there. The actual goal is to get to $2.99 so that you can find one bet that you love and go all in. (You might have to lose a little on purpose to get under $3 so that you get your bonus on your all-in bet). Assuming you pick an even bet, you get paid $3 plus your 25% bonus ($0.75) so now you are up to $6.75. Now you are on your own which means you either need luck or skill to get any higher. Clear as mud?

Jupiter Broadcasting

TWiT (Leo Laporte)

Revision3

All 3 are technical related (usually) webcasting sites. Good stuff for when I'm not in front of the plasma watching something from the Science, History and NatGeo channels (etc., etc).

TenYardTorrents

More video and a must for me when WBNS dumps us for ratings (maybe not this year ). I usually don't get the game until a day or two later, but thanks to the dedication of the cappers most are compressed nicely in a 2-3 GB HD file.

One of my favorites is alibris.com. I use it for books and authors and to get prices. It has made some money for me, helped me add to afew of my favorite writers collection, and is a great place for cheaper textbooks, used titles, the very rare and unusual. Helped me find a couple Buckeye rarities by Woody Hayes and some very old books which I have bought and sold. Works well IMO.

That's likely why it was blocked. If it doesn't have porn involved, it's just not worth it.

If you included a blog URL....it does that.

I'm assuming you included Windy's blog (since you reference it a lot in Cavs threads).

I don't click on ads on 99.9999% of the websites that I visit. They are exceptions to that rule, but very few.

My husband just went to the site and his antivirus/malware went NUTS. Mine is set up a different way (company laptop) and didn't catch it until the next pre-set scan. I haven't gone back since. Perhaps they were hacked, I don't know. I just know I won't take the chance with these computers. That was a BEEEEOOOOTTTCH to clean up!

Before that though, that site was a friggin blast. I even submitted a photo for it (not sure if they used it or not, sinces after I got the malware, I didn't read anything from the,)
