hey Dawg, Who signed NAFTA? I'm asking you because I know Mac won't bother answering.

Hear I will help Mac out on this one... It was Clinton, although it was originally brought into the system under Bush I towards the end of his reign but Clinton rammed it through Congress and enticed everyone to agree with it.. Clinton could have killed it..

pd...DID YOU KNOW...

...The first step of NAFTA, the free trade agreement between Canada and the USA was signed in 1988..who signed that agreement?...

...that President was already in negotiations with Mexico to complete a the 3 way trade deal. Any idea who that President was?

...the trade agreement between Mexico, Canada and the USA (NAFTA) was "signed" in 1992...any idea who was President?

...the President who "signed" the NAFTA agreement attempted to fast track ratification of the agreement so he could sign it into law, but failed.

...the ratification of NAFTA occurred in 1993 after Clinton got all parties to agree to language that protected American workers and the environment. Clinton signed NAFTA in Dec. 1993 and it took effect in Jan. 1994.

BTW...

This is a great gig REPUBLICANS are playing out...they kill the American economy, creating the worst recession in American history, bailing out failed banks...bailing out Wall St...then the REPUBLICANS tell American workers...go find a job after 8 million jobs have been lost due to their 8 years of REPUBLICAN economics.

...the REPUBLICANS tells unemployed American workers...so you can't find a hamburger flipping job?...GO TO HELL, we REPUBLICANS are kicking you off unemployment too!

...these same REPUBLICANS are ok with spending $2,000,000,000.00 U.S. taxpayer dollars PER WEEK, on the Iraqi people.

...The amount of U.S. taxpayer dollars the REPUBLICANS have spent and continue to spend, to help the Iraqi people is in the TRILLIONS of U.S. taxpayer dollars....

...BTW, not one dime of the TRILLIONS, the REPUBLICANS have spent on the Iraqi people has been paid for...they BORROWED every cent...REPUBS SIMPLY ADDED THE COST OF TAKING CARE OF THE IRAQI PEOPLE, TO THE DEFIECT...so don't tell me how much REPUBLICANS care about the deficit...that dog won't hunt...that is pure RW BS.

...SIMPLE REPUBLICAN VALUES...as they tell AMERICAN WORKERS, GO TO HELL!

If it's sooooooo important, then why aren't the Democrats fightint tooth and nail? Why give up? Why not fight to the last breath over this ..... taking it to the papers and news channels with updates on the fight each and every day ...... forcing the GOP into a real filibuster, or allowing a vote .......

If it's so damn important ...... why make a statement and give up ....... whimpering like a wet and beaten dog, locked out in the cold ........ and crying like a little girl who had a bully take her sucker away from her ........instead of standing up like the majority party in both houses of Congress, who are control the White House ..... and getting something done? (Wow, that's one hell of a run on sentence ..... but the question remains .. and is valid)

Frankly, the Democrats are acting more like the minority party in both houses. "Those bad Republicans won't let us play!" ... even though the Democrats currently own the sandbox, swing set, water slide, roller coaster ........

But I digress. Why don't the Democrats have the guts to use their majority standing in both houses to get anything done? They are the ones playing political games now mac ..... you are just ..... still ..... too willfully blind to see it.

Now go find a left wing blog to get your courage back so you can post an article that does nothing to answer my points. Maybe talk about "Bush" a little. Bring up some "RW'ers". Anything to avoid examining your own Party's ultimate culpability in accomplishing nothing.

Here's what's becoming funny on this board....people keep replying to him because he says such stupid things. He's making people look just as bad as he makes himself look. We all need to let what he says roll off of us...he's playing games and he knows it.

I finally got him to give an original thought! Of course he went back to his same old mantra making excuses for a Democrat while blaming Republicans for everything else under the sun.

Unlike most of us right wingers who have shown displeasure with the party we affiliate ourselves with (out of default) he can't bring himself to say anything bad against a Democrat.

Being one of the people you mentioned I think i need to respond to you...

You're right!

I don't think he is nearly as stupid as he comes across. I do believe he is trying to play us but in the off chance he is serious I like to take a few digs.

pd...did you come up with the answers the following questions yet?

ANYONE?

Apparently Those questions were already answered... Bush I, but apparently you FAIL to realize that Bill Clinton could have stopped it and killed it. But what did he do??

You can keep trying to blame only one party for all the problems in the world, but the fact still remains neither of them has clean hands...

Why do you hate Republicans so much? I mean, really? I'm not fond of them myself, but you are sounding like the Democrat's b!+(#.

It can't be policy. The Democrats have had control of Congress for three and a half years. Every dime spent, or borrowed, for almost four years must meet Democrat approval, yet you blame Republicans? Why don't you blame the people that have control? They had a filibuster proof majority, yet you blame the minority party. Nothing that has happened in over three years has been done because of Republicans.

Look at the healthcare bill. Obama had some rough ideas, yet could not pass any spending without the bill from Congress. He can only sign, or veto.

Bank bailouts = Democrats

Iraqi domestic spending for 3 years = Democrats

Borrowing the money = Democrats

Let me be clear: THE MINORITY PARTY CAN NOT CONTROL SPENDING, OR BORROWING. THEY DO NOT HAVE THE VOTES. They can only agree with the majority party/Democrats.

Please address your outrage to the offending party.

PS - The Republicans have said they would agree to extending UI benefits, but not as just another page in a 2,000 page spending bill.

Yes back to the matter at hand.

Voinovich would have voted for it if it went along with the Pay as you Go policies rather than deficit spending.. but nonetheless Mac, where do we get this money to extend unemployment benefits (not insurance)?

divi...if it were only that simple...

...politics and playing politics is a "complicated" game if "one" cares to dig beneath the surface.

...then again, "one" has to be smart enough to understand the "game" politicians and "parties" play

...then "one" has to be "honest" enough to admit if the game being played meets their own "moral" standards.

divi...you have to decide if you are going to support and join the REPUGS in putting your "righteous" RW foot on the heads of the unemployed and shove them under...

... or if "you" believe in investing in the AMERICAN people, by continuing to pay their unemployment benefits.

...simple as that

Fixed it for you. I think it's much more clear to people now.
