Wow, he really comes off as a jerk with his answers. Sorry Cavs fans, you deserve a lot better. All the love you've shown to this guy over the years....it's really sad.

LeBron simply wants to go to a team where he can win a ring....if he couldn't win in his 7 years in C town..he never was.... If Bosh would have stayed a Raptor..I think James would have stayed a Cav. Get it over. You guys act like the sky is falling..... Thinking about it...where would you rather live......in Miami where its in the 70's in Febuary or Cleveland where its 15 degrees.... Miami has alot more going for it than Cleveland....

I wonder if Z is going to follow him to Miami.
They just showed LeBron footage of people in Cleveland burning his jersey and he looked shocked for a second. I don't think he quite gets the magnitude of what he's done.

A Browns Super Bowl title will be a lot bigger than anything this traitor could have done for Cleveland.

Lets just move all our sports teams from this Godforsaken place then.
Look ... most people don't mind the whole, "I need to switch it up because I tried my best and it didn't work" crap ... he can do that. He just happened to take the worst possible route to make that decision. Mail in the last couple games of a playoff series, say that he's "spoiled fans", string fans along for two months making them think he might re-up ... and then worst of all, calling a nationally televised reality show to punch Cleveland in the stomach.

http://www.cleveland.com/pluto/blog/index.ssf/2010/07/in_the_end_lebron_james_inflic.htmlIn the end, LeBron James inflicts needless pain on the region that raised and loved him: Terry Pluto CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Maybe this happens when you get too much, too soon. Maybe it happens when you forget where you came from, or what you mean to the people of Northeast Ohio. But LeBron James should feel a sense of shame and pain for putting together a self-serving ESPN special to inform the world that he no longer intends to play for the Cavaliers. To sharpen the insult, he titled his switch to the Miami Heat as "The Decision." Yes, that's just like The Fumble, The Drive, The Move, The Shot and other awful moments in the history of Cleveland sports -- and he picked the name? Doesn't anyone in the James camp have a clue of what people back home will think? Doesn't anyone care? Of if they mentioned to James, doesn't he get it? Twenty-five year-olds are usually not the most mature people on the planet. Add in becoming worth $100 million at 18 and a global sports icon a few years later, and perhaps James was building up to this crass, sad moment. He lives in a celebrity bubble where it's very difficult to see any situation except through his own eyes, with his own sense of entitlement. And yes, James is entitled to become a free agent. He can sign with Cavs, the Bulls or anywhere else. But don't make the claim that Miami with a made-for-TV team in Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and a no room in the salary cap for much more than some of James' old St. Vincent-St. Mary teammates is purely about winning. It's hype. It's sizzle. It's about his brand name. But it's not the best basketball situation. Of the teams with salary cap room to sign James, Chicago has the deepest roster. New Jersey has some intriguing young players. The Cavs have won 61 and 66 games in the last two seasons with James, and would be a contender again in the Eastern Conference if he had returned. Yes, James is free to go to Miami. He's free to market himself on ESPN. But fans in his hometown also are free to say that he never should have embarrassed them. They are free to be hurt, because the Cavaliers could have paid him more than any other team. They also have spent more and won more in the last three years than any of main contenders for his services. It's a lot easier to dump contracts and lose games than to keep adding veterans and fat contracts while chasing a title, which the Cavs have done. The fans also are free to wonder what happened to the guy who accepted his first MVP award at his old St. Vincent-St. Mary gym, the next at the University of Akron -- and both times, talking so warmly and sincerely about being at home. James is a remarkable basketball talent. He has wisely stayed out of legal trouble, and generally said and done the right things when in the public spotlight. He leaves as the greatest player in franchise history, and leading the Cavs to their only NBA Finals appearance back in 2007. Never was basketball more fun for Cavaliers fans than during the James Era. But never could anyone have imagined a worse way for it to end than how James delivered his decision Thursday night.

Dear LeBron,
You don't get Jordan Caliber Status by making a giant media spectacle of yourself. You do it on the court and stfu off the court.

I would be completely and totally against helping the Heat get any additional cap room.
I would also be completely against helping James get any more money.

I love the walking contradiction machine that LeBron is.
Even just in that interview. Wade, Bosh, and I never talked specifically about it and then follows it up with how they have been talking about it.
Most important for me is winning now.....followed by who knows what the rest of the roster will even look like. Hopefully we find some gems......
That doesn't sound like it is the best opportunity to win now. LeBron James got me interested in the NBA again, and now is the reason why I won't watch it again. I got so sick of these new egotistical guys that I stopped watching. It turned into just a bunch of thugs who don't deserve the money they get paid. Then LeBron came in preaching loyalty and family and how that is all important and he got me interested again.
Well tonight I found out that is all a lie. All LeBron James really cares about is LeBron James, even doing so by talking in the third person constantly. He is clearly no better than the rest of them and with that, I say goodbye to the NBA once again. Guess nothing will ever live up to the Jordan days and prior.

I agree.
Add in the fact when he was asked if the teams know the decision he said one was just informed, meaning he didn't have the class to let his employer the last 7 season know first they weren't the selection....making them wait for a decision via a TV program????
The guy is a total tool.
In all honesty, I expected him to leave and have said that for a few years. What I didn't expect was for him to do it in such a underhanded way.
There is a right way to do things and a wrong way to do things.
The kid is a punk, and I am not saying that because he left the Cavs. Had he done this in a manly manner, I would be supporting him to a degree.
I don't blame him for doing what he thinks is best, we all have to do that.
I blame him for being a puss about the whole thing.

It has become obvious that James cares more about the "Lebron Brand" than anything or anyone else.
I wonder how his mother feels about this?

Well Lebron told Wilbon that his mother told him to do what will make Lebron happy. So now he abandons his home state and maybe doesn't have the brains to know what he has done. But he's happy. For now.

What cant happen is the whole rotten thing be taken out on the Cavs and or Gilbert. The dude is a winner and now he can get down to business once again.
I'm hoping the next thing we "witness" is a determined owner on a mission and a supporting fan base!
I'm sure we'll hear from him soon!

I wonder how his mother feels about this?
just checking in (for those interested, my hockey game started later than i thought so i have a few min)
i see a lot of people bagging on lbj's mom on facebook, obvious delonte jokes.
but honestly, lay off her, something tells me she didn't want him to leave. just by some of the stories i've heard about her.
so we kinda knew it was gonna be miami.
but i just think it is so classless for him to go about leaving this way. to stab your hometown in the back on national tv in front of the whole world, to string cleveland along, to tell larry king cleveland has an edge, completely classless.
i'm kinda with windy, this is not the guy we know, sometime between the end of the bulls series and now, he changed.
and the bs answers he gave after announcing his decision. just lame.
i feel so bad for dan gilbert and the cavs organization right down to the guys who walk up and down the q selling drinks. they don't deserve this. that organization bent over backwards for him. and he turned and embarassed the cavs in front of everyone.
i'm not overly pissed, i'm not tossing stuff, like i always say, i've been playing hockey year round 3-4 times a week since i was a kid. i have that mentality (especially playing goal, you HAVE to) to just put things behind you and not dwell on them. if ya watched me play, i never get mad and bust my stick over the goal, or scream and shout after giving up a goal. i don't dwell on the past, and i'm not gonna dwell on this.
i feel horrible for all the little kids, with their lbj jerseys, their hero just walked out on them. that is just not right. it's wrong on so many levels. me? i'm 28, i can handle it. but as a dad, how do you explain to your kids why he left?
i really wonder if bosh was true when he said he didn't do a sign and trade with the cavs because he didn't know what lbj was gonna do. at least the cavs part, maybe lbj was dead set on this.
i'm always gonna love my cavs, but i am a HUGE kobe fan now. never hated the guy before, but now i hope he gets number 6.
lebron rarely took the blame when the cavs lost in the playoffs, what's he gonna say when they don't win, because there is no guarantee he doesn't win in miami?
any word on the length of the deal, did he go 3 or 5?
if i am dan gilbert, i tear it down, and play the lottery, play it for a few years, get a respectable, YOUNG (very important) team, and the fans will come back. no doubt they will.
dan gilbert doesn't need to prove jack to the cavs fans by spending and spending with this team now. do it the right way, if you build it, they will come.
for those that can't handle this as well as i know i can and will, i feel for you, hang in there, the browns are not far behind.
he quit on the cavs and he quit on cleveland and all of ohio.
move on.

I agree. I don't think lebron realized what the reaction would be to him leaving. I think for him this will hopefully be one of those decisions that he will learn from his mistakes and make a wiser decision in the future.
