I read that all the way through waiting for the plot twist, then I saw the rofl.
I was even looking through some FL media. They may be happy he's there, but no one condones the process.

Oh .... this one is he best. I've figured out the moral of the story: Stay in school. Wade: 3 years at Marquette Bosh: 1 year at Georgia Tech The kid from Akron: no college The most educated guy convinced his dumber friends to come play on his team for less money.
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

Some goodones from the mailbag:
City: Chicago Name: Matt You know what made me laugh just now? Joe Johnson came away with the biggest contract of the 2010 Free Agency Frenzy.
Via Twitter @nadav_mor As a Kobe fan, I just want to thank LeBron. Debate is over and done with. Next up, Kevin Durant.
City: Atlanta, Ga. Name: Eric Retter Closest example to what LeBron did with Cleveland: Instead of proposing to your girlfriend, dumping your wife on the Jumbotron. At the Super Bowl.
Still have a lot to go through, that's a hell of a mailbag!

Maybe you should stick to badminton.
His people are pro's. They know this wouldn't enhance his image, just his chance to win a title.
I guess the reports that James wanted Bosh to come to Cleveland weren't really there.
Winning.
Had he done this in a classy way, he'd be applauded for choosing to try and win a ring over being the King of Cleveland.
Um toad you realize you don't win championships with just 3 great players. They'll win a lot of games. However they're gonna have 9 scrubs to fill out the rest of there roster. They'll sign guys like Mike Miller and a washed up Shaq. They have no center to stop a guy like Dwight Howard. They have no true PG to stop a guy like Rondo. The Lakers are still the defending champs and can probably repeat.
Argue with the boys who make their livings putting together the odds. Vegas says they are favorites. That makes them favorites.

Something that kind of gets overlooked is this. He didn't just ... of clevelands media. New York, Chicago, New Jersey and hell some of Los Angeles are going to rip him to shreds now.
If I was a betting man, I'd bet that the fact that some folks in Cleveland are burning his jerseys comes as no shock to him... the fact that fans in NY and Chicago are pissed probably comes as no shock to him...
I bet the letter from Gilbert is a shock but I'll bet the national media is the biggest shocking.. using words like narcisist, coward, etc... I'm betting he wasn't prepared for that national backlash..
Oh yeah, the national media is jumping all over him.. not so much for him making the jump but for the way he did it.
For myself, I didn't expect Gilbert to come out so strongly.. No way did even think that Gilbert would call him a coward.
Hell, even some in the Miami Media were saying that his methods were indefensable. I even heard one from down there say that he wished they could retract thier offer... and I thought the NY Media was tough..

The guys that make the odds in Vegas are awesome. They have their pulse on things way more often than not.
Having said that, I'll make any wager you want that the Miami Heat will not win the NBA championship next year. Hell, you'll be living here. You can pay me face to face.

The odds are about keeping the money even, not about picking who will win... and a lot of this is emotional betting.. hell nobody even knows who the rest of the starting line up is going to be let alone who is going to be coming off the bench.

I may take that losing bet just so I can pay ya face-to-face.
Frankly, I think anything that says they are the "favorites" is out of line. Without knowing who Riley will surround them with, it's impossible to say they are the best team. Yet any team that has a core of those three in place stands a better chance than most teams of going far into the playoffs and winning it all.
So that brings us back full-circle to why James left. I say it's because he wanted to do two things: Win and live "the life." Since Bosh and Wade weren't coming to Cleveland, James had to go to them, and sadly, most would choose to live in Miami than in Cleveland. *shrug* It is what it is.
It wasn't that James chose to leave that really hurts. It's that he kicked a million people in the nuts then laughed walking out the door as he did it.

That's our point, they have 4 2nd rounders (that's if they sign them) and chalmers to compliment that team. I think chalmers will be perfect for that team. However if Dexter Pittman is your starting center you're in trouble. Dwight Howard would abuse the hell out of that kid. They should have kept Beasley and told there big 3 to take less money. He'd be the only player coming off there bench that wouldn't be complete trash and he's not even that good.

For the chance to play with those three, some good players will take less to try and win a ring.

I have to agree with you on that. The thing that pisses me off the most is that, just how he did it, It's one thing to want a ring...but to chase it when your young enough to earn it on your own. But we should all know'n that from the cowboy & NY hat's he wouldnt last long here.

Think LeBron will keep the baby powder thing? Think he would dare do it in Cleveland? I can honestly say that I would pay $1000 for a seat behind the scorers table for that game, close enough to throw something at him... not something that would hurt him but pegging him square in the chest with a small water balloon as he gazes up at the powder would be well worth getting thrown out and facing assault charges... even though I doubt anybody in my section would give me up..

I don't think LeBron trully comprehends how angry people are going to be. That's not just in cleveland. He's a pariah everywhere he goes except Miami.

There are LeBron articles all over the place so I'm not going to post the whole article because its a lot of the same stuff ... but this cracked me up.... Quote:
Orlando Magic general manager Otis Smith said Friday he was surprised James went to Miami because he thought the two-time MVP was "more of a competitor."
He said the "great ones" do it on their own and "usually stay in one location."
It was rare public criticism from the usually coy Smith and perhaps a move to motivate his Magic. James had announced a day earlier that he was joining Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami to form an All-Star trio.
Asked if James' move to Miami will cause a power shift in the NBA, Smith responded, "Is Kobe retiring?" ouch...
But, here is the linkarooski if you want to read the whole thing.. web page

I still don't get the whole Chris Bosh LoveFest thing .....
D'Wayne Wade is a spectacular player. There is no doubt he is one of the very best in the NBA.
Chris Bosh was a decent offensive player as the number 1 offensive option on his team. As far as I can tell, he's a step up from Carlos Boozer offensively, but a step down defensively. A max contract player? I have a feeling that this one might come back to bite the heat at some point.

Oh, and before anyone accuses me of blasting Bosh after the fact ..... when there were reports that the Cavaliers were trying to sign and trade for Bosh, I said I didn't want him then.

So in a way -- I'm very happy today. It's clearly synthetic happiness (see: http://www.youtube.com/v/LTO_dZUvbJA (isn't the name as ironic as hell -- didn't even think about that until I posted this, missed it earlier when i posted to facebook) Anyway - at the present moment, I've at least convinced myself that I'll have as much fun as a die-hard Anti-LBJ fan, as I ever had as an LBJ fan - and it will be much less stressful, cause if he happens to win I can always say "To hell with him anyway". There are many advantages to our current position: 1.) Even with the (I think somewhat optimistic at the moment -- remember their goal is to equalize the betting on both sides, not to give their actual odds - thus, they also get caught up in moments of emotion like this) Vegas Oddsmakers, Lebron James is a 5/9 chance to not win it all this year. By any standard - if LBJ doesn't win after this it is a failure. So it's a 5/9 chance that I win this season - that's much better than the odds that the Cavs would have won if he stayed. 2.) I think we can all agree that "The Decision" was the worst PR move since "Mission Accomplished" - and it's absolutely delightful to watch LBJ get eviscerated for it. And while the majority of the media will forget about this as soon as they get to cover the meet of the Heat's first homegame - it will always be brought up when discussing his legacy. LBJ can never be compared to Jordan/Russell now - Cleveland was the only way to do that --- so in a way, I've already won. 3.) Without a strong bench this year - LBJ probably won't win...there is likely to be a lockout next year - there's a decent chance that in the next 4-5 years, either LBJ/Wade misses a postseason due to injury --- and there's a very good chance that LBJ walks away with at best 1 ring (everybody knows he won't age well given his playing style - and the amount of tread on his tires) -- I think that's also a win for Cleveland. It might not quite be as authentic or natural as "rooting for the hometown kid to lead the hometown team to victory" but synthetically it feels quite good.

I dunno............24 points and 11 boards a game is pretty damned "superstar"ish when you're 6'10 and 255. Garnett in his prime was 24 and 14. When Boozer can get what he got, paying Bosh to help lure James to Miami would be a no-brainer to me.
It's a poor comparison, but there's enough there to make the point. If Wade is better than Paul Pierce was a couple of years ago, and at the very worst it's a wash, and if Bosh is as good as Garnett was a couple of years ago, again this would at worst be a wash, and if James can bring his normal game and contribute more than Ray Allen (two very different players) then that combination makes paying Bosh a max deal easy. Furthermore, I don't know if it'll take that much around those three to make a championship team. The Celts needed Rondo to help win it all, as they didn't have a guy who create. The Heat have that with James.
The Heat are no lock to win it all, but those three even with a bunch of real nobodies is still a team that should get to the finals. Hell, James never had the likes of Wade and Bosh around and he got there.

And Boozer averaged 19.5 PPG and 11.2 Rebounds. He signed fror 5 years and $75 million.
There are reports that the Heat have contacted the Cavaliers about a S&T for James. I just can't see that one happening in this lifetime. I don't see Snyder taking back 1 or 2 low 1st round picks that he could probably buy anyway when he could put the screws bigtime to James. There's no "Trade Exemption" for the Cavaliers ... because they're already under the cap.
It would be kind of funny to see James making some $30 million less than the other 2 if the Heat do work out a S&T for Bosh. .

I can't possibly imagine Gilbert going for a sign and trade after his open letter and changing the prices of LeBron Fatheads to Benedict Arnold's birthday.
I hope the Heat aren't holding their breath. Actually, I take that back. Let 'em turn blue.

A huge difference between the old big 3 and the new big 3 is that the celtics had Perkins and Rondo. Rondo's job was to just get the big 3 the ball and not screw up. Perkins was a strong, mean, nasty SOB that controlled the paint defensivley. I see nobody on the heat team that would play like that.

i just got done reading it. they weren't all cleveland fans but a ton of them were, but 99% of those people destroyed lebron. some went to say he even fell as much as tiger woods did without even involving a woman or a crime.
and someone else compared him going to play with wade like a-rod going to play with jeter. yeah a-rod got his ring, but people still don't look at him the way they did when he was fresh faced kid with ridiculous talents in seattle.
maybe we can feel like mariner fans in a few years. i bet they were glad he was out of their hair.
