There is another video on the link I posted...I do not know if it is the same as the one you posted only because i am not able to see either...but my guess is with the tone of the article, that is more of a full video of the speech she was giving and not an edit that was done for biggovernment.org......just a guess tho...

I do not think the video I saw was edited.. she spoke of how blacks should get into government jobs because they can't be fired.. she talked about not giving this white farmer all of the help she could have.. she talked about sending him to a lawyer and kept referring to him as a white lawyer and "one of his own" to help him... then she talked about how she did ultimately come to the conclusion that it was about him being poor and not black or white (which I gave her credit for)... and yes aside from her own racist comments, the audience did repeatedly laugh and give mild applause at some of her more racist comments.

I don't think the woman is evil, I just think she was being honest.. and I can tell you that white people have been forced out of their jobs for less.. if she resigned, then I'm ok with that because her tone and her comments and her use of terms like "white people" and "his own kind" etc is wrong... but most importantly, if the colors were reversed and a white person within the federal government had said these things about a black person that white person would have been run out of town on a rail and everybody knows it. For example, could you imagine a person in FEMA making the statement about a black family, "We gave them a temporary trailor to live in but we put it over there so they could be close to their own kind." .... seriously would ANYBODY accept an apology from that person or would anybody accept a statement from the black family that he really had helped them? No, nobody would.

Oh I am in Full agreement...However I also have to think....to run her out on a rail as a "white" person would in the same situation...would we be doing the exact same thing we are chastisng the NAACP for...which is "well this is what would happen to us so that is what should happen to them" I mean for a long time and even now Blacks are discriminated against. And many (and by no means all) Blacks think that discrimination of Whites is justice. The laughter in the video is proof of that.

Should this lady be admonished or be punished for her actions back then. I think she should. However, she HAS LEARNED AND CHANGED which is the most important thing we can bring from this...Like Rocky said...If I can change....and you can change...we all can change....So what should that admonishment or punshment be...I don't know...I am slightly divided. partly because I don't have enough information...but also I want to separate myself from "well what would they do to a white guy in the same situation" and try to figure it out without any biases

I think you are correct.. but if no (or minimal admonishment) is given, then what is the message? Is the message that is received by the NAACP and others, "Hey look, the white guys are trying to be the bigger person, we should follow suit the next time a white person screws up and says something inflamatory." ... or is the message received as, "See, we are right, they know we are right, we can say whatever we want and get away with it." I tend to think the message that would be received is much closer to the second..

So I think the way you handle it is.. by admonishing equally.. but the punishment has to be felt from within.. the white person that says something stupid has to be punished by white people and the black by black people... and that is the problem, there is always this underlying cynical feeling that the white people are only punishing the white person who says something stupid because they are bowing to political and media pressure.. just like this article points out.. that maybe the reaction was a knee-jerk reaction to political pressure.. and we need to get past that.

It is all over the News this morning.

The video was edited so the full context of a member of the NAACP helping a white family save their farm 20 years ago, and understanding that it was a poverty issue not a race issue.

The family was on CNN yesterday speaking up for her.

The USDA and Obama admin will be taking heat for their quick reaction, and she will likely get her job back. FoxNews will cover it as a mistake.

Then yes, I heard the whole thing.. I don't really care if she gets her job back but she should only be allowed to help her own kind.

If it were me, I'd tell them where to shove it.

It is their loss, they were perfectly willing to turn on a dime to appease a teabagger without looking into the facts. Who is going to be fired next because a teabagger wants to undermine the government?

The problem that the Obama administration is having is that they don't have balls. They should stick their ground and never cave into these teabagger extremists.

At the current juncture, I would say we've got another six years of the clown.

Either way, whoever comes in after him whether in two years or six, is likely to govern in similar fashion.

Oh I suspect that there will be quite a few pink slips given out this November ...... well before Obama gets his.
