I hope that is legit enough as a source ... still unsure of what works and what doesn't ... but that's on me

If its correct, Im surprised about Asante from the things we heard early in the year ... but maybe just didn't contribute enough?

Ivey was new and Geathers was a stretch ... but please tell me where our defensive line depth is now?

Nothing too surprising there. I hope we can hang on to Geathers...somebody's got to figure out how to utilize that wingspan.

Asante dropped already?

This last draft is a bit confusing to me.

Carlton Mitchell made it.

So did Veikune, Bowens, and Barton.

We kept 12 LB?

Sorenson is still with us.

We are really short on CBs.

Looks like we kept 4 TE?

Good point out Ytown ...

Im wondering though if Veikune is number 53 and one of sorenson/ventrone/costanzo are 52

If that's the case they could still be gone by ... sunday?

Oh, I'm really surprised that we only kept 3 CB.

I am stunned that we kept 12 LB.

4 TE is definitely not what I expected.

I think that we have some stuff in the works.

I'm thinking that if Asante and Geathers make it through waivers we will see them on our practice squad.

Also, no Bowens or Barton.

I could see Asante, Miller, Chancellor, Geathers all on the PS.

Maybe now we are actually seeing what the coaches meant by the cornerback position "NEEDING to be addressed" if they only had confidence in Wright (and we dont even truthfully know if they love him .. he could just be the best of the bunch so he aint going anywhere too soon)

I think Adams will play quite a bit at corner which made McDonald expendable. Something is off because there is no real need to 4 safeties and Adams as well. I am not surprised by Vekuine. Everyone on here may thing he sucks but Mangini has given him a lot of praise..Not to mention he was a second round pick last year.

I'm surprised by both Asante and Engram. I figured Engram would make the team and Mitchell would go to PS.

I wonder if we've put in some claims for other CBs. Otherwise, I'm a bit worried about the number of CBs on the team.

Oh man I didn't think of that,, this means that, at least for the moment, Mitchell made the team...WOW

Calling B-Mac quality depth is quite funny.

The dude flat out cannot tackle and is a decent cover corner. I would never want him on the field at any point in a game, though, because his cover skills are not anywhere near good enough to make up for his lack of tackling.

Wow, 12 LB's
Only 5 DL and 8 DB's

We kept all 4 TE's as I thought we might.
Other then that no big surprises on offense.

Yes, as long as nobody pulls the rug out.

Very surprised BMac isn't our 3rd CB. Rather have BMac and Adams, who can play S or CB, than Adams and Sorensen. Sorensen plays special teams well, but he also got his bell rung. Will he even play next week?

Damn glad we have James Davis- though probably at the expense of Montario Hardesty.

Little surprised Asante is gone, but I'm sure he'll land on the PS. But still not as surprised as cutting our #4 CB.

So it isn't uncommon for any team, including oure to cut later round picks. Savage did it routinely. So your comment really made no sense.

Also my bad on Geathers.

I don't understand why people are upset over McDonald being released. He's lost his starting job 3 times in the last 3 seasons. He's like Anderson. He's good enough to fool you into thinking he's really good, but self destructs when the game in on the line.

I gotta wonder if a trade for one of our LB is in the works.

3 CB makes no sense. Someone is coming in, or coming back.

I don't see us keeping 4 TE all year long.

I think that there will be significant changes by Monday morning. (Maybe 6-7 spots changing by then)

Those 5 are the corners and safeties cut by the eagles within the past day that were also drafted by the eagles within the past 3 years ...

my question is how much does someone wanna bet we put a claim in on at least one of them? It makes sense, Heckert should know a few of these guys better than he knew Asante or McDonald .. but he might try to bring in his own guys as well if he gets the shot.

We'll just have to see how this move plays out. B-Mac isn't nearly as bad as some folks on here think he is. I'm not saying he's starting material necessarily (although there weren't too many complaints about him in 2008), but you aren't going to find many better #4 CBs out there. We better hope we don't suffer any injuries at CB. We are now officially thin at the position AGAIN. As I said... duh-umb.

Yes he lost his starting job. The thing is people were expecting him to be our dime back I think it has less to do with ability and more to do with work ethic/ consistency.

That is a ton of LBs... I know our defense is built around them but dang! That's just crazy!

I agree... I wouldn't not be surprised if we have have some big changes over th next couple of days.

And I disagree. We have 4 corners that are capable of starting for us, plus I expect us to pick up another corner. We are hardly thin there.

McDonald is a decent cover corner with 0 tackling ability. I am glad we won't see him play for the Browns. You obviously disagree.

If the earlier report is to be believed that the Browns were waiting to release their cuts until the last minute because they didn't want other teams to make claims on their guys, I wouldn't be surprised if Asante is the focus of that.

We thought enough of the guy to draft him. We might not think enough of him to keep him on our active roster, but I have to think that, if he clears waivers, we'll PS him.

That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if some other team signs him.

Now, the question I have is, if another team signs him, can they sign him to their own PS, or do they have to sign him to their active roster?

I am unfamiliar with this feeling of optimism

IIRC, it would have to be to their active roster

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."
