Not that I want to speculate too far .. but you think we could even trade Robiskie if we were set on giving up on him? Or is it a straight cut?

I really have no idea about that.

I just keep remembering several quotes about the "progression" of Veikune and Robo...almost as if EM wanted it to be so...when he knew it wasn't.

(BTW...that was NOT a bash on EM.)

If I had to guess...I would say he is a straight cut at some point and likely during the year. Just a feeling I guess.

Sooner or later we may conclude that Mitchell needs the reps or that a guy like Clowney is actually better than Robo.

Here's to hoping Robo proves me wrong.

Whats terrible is methinks that both Veikune and Robiskie could be *solid* players and even starters someday ... the problem with being drafted in the second and having no production (or even not starting / playing in / dressing for) on gameday is what kills them.

Yeah they have been in the league for what should be 20 games now ... but I dont think they have a combined 20 games experience ... and so they might never get a chance. I could see Robiskie going to someones team ... but he's practice squad ineligible now as far as I know ... so him and veikune would have to hope to sign with a good team due to injury or try to earn a roster spot in camp with us or someone else next year

I'm not ready to give up on any of our WR's just yet. Robo and Momass were 2nd rd picks that were expected to come in here and save our passing game with a mediocre (at best) QB situation.

these guys are not #1 WR's, at least not yet, so we just need to be patient and focus on getting that #1 guy, while at the same time figuring out who the QB of the future is gonna be.

I think some of this may be chemistry. While Jake got to work with Mo-Mass & Robo throughout training camp, Wallace only worked with them sporadically. I still think they have trouble getting separation, but I also think Jake has a tendency to get rid of the ball more quickly, and is better able to hit the receivers coming out of their breaks. I suppose we'll see if this is true or not in the coming weeks.

I don't feel so,but I think both could get playing time if they're put in the right situation.Veikune is a pass rusher so thats where he should be utilized..Robo is one of those slot receivers that a team has to get a first down or inside the redzone..Other than that, they were a waste of high picks.

It's time to give Carlton Mitchell a shot in the near future.

Compare their first seasons to the first seasons of the 2nd round Wr's they picked up in 99-01, or for the first seasons of players around the division, just the afc north.

I think there is no comparision.

Ordinarilly you say keep the team together in these situations but if the players haven't produced at all in the NFl, well, why do those have to be the ones the Browns have to have more patience with.

The Browns should have patience with the ones who can get better, not the ones who can't.

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

Very true... but at this point I quetion what good it would do simply to cast them off. It wont help us to bring in more stopgap receivers because at least these guys are young and have a chance to improve.

If we get a legit #1 wideout ...then they will still have value and be able to hold the position down.

Methinks Viekune got cut and as usual,Robo is a step behind him.
2 wasted second round picks,in 1 draft.

Indecision may,or maynot,be my problem
