good to see ohio state beat iowa and the refs. they should get 2 wins for that.
yes that was definitely pass interference at the end of the game there but that didn't make up for the 5 missed calls earlier in the game. what a joke.

Anybody see the ESPN BCS Show,....they actually predicted that both Stanford and one of two non AQ's might not get a BCS Bowl.
This bullcrap with AQ conference champions not even sniffing the Top Ten, yet get a major bowl game, has to stop.
I think they should take the Top Ten and all else be damned. (And I might even disqualify top ten finishers that lost their championship game.) That or they've got to add another major bowl. (i.e. bring back the Cotton)

Notre Dame became bowl eligible by beating Army yesterday, doesnt that mean they get an automatic BCS bid??

Their "special" rule is nine wins and top ten, I think,....they're nowhere near either.
EDIT: The readout said Top Eight, but doesn't qualify a win total. (You ain't getting close to Top 8 anymore with less than 10 wins these days,....)

I don't see how one of the BCS bowls could justify not taking one of the Non-AQ's, barring a surprise in the Pac-10 or SEC. Wisconsin likely heads to the Rose, Big 12 winner will go to the Fiesta, and the ACC winner to the Orange. That leaves 2 spots in the Sugar, and 1 each for the Fiesta/Orange/Rose with the Big East taking one of these 5 spots.
If I'm reading the selection process right, the Rose Bowl will replace Oregon with TCU/Boise (Boise imho). The Sugar would replace Auburn with LSU, and then still get the first pick of the at large teams (likely TCU/Stanford/Ohio State). I could see them taking TCU (DFW isn't that far from New Orleans). Then its the Orange, who will probably take Ohio State, because of the draw. Then the Fiesta would be left with the Big East winner.
If it fall like I think it will this is how it will look:
Rose Bowl: Wisconsin-Boise State Sugar Bowl: LSU-TCU Orange Bowl: ACC-Ohio State Fiesta Bowl: Big 12-Big East
I don't see how TCU/Boise would be left out along with Stanford. That means that one of the Bowls would have to take a second team from the Big 12, because the Big 10 and SEC would already be putting in 2 teams.
Stanford I can see being left out, but not (likely TCU) Boise/TCU and Stanford.

I'm really hoping for an Oregon and Auburn loss so we can see Boise vs TCU in the national championship. Anything to get rid of this terrible BCS system would be great in my book.

The best situation would be Oregon losing and then Boise/TCU beating down Auburn.
I would to see a big time SEC team get their butts kicked by one of the little guys.

I'm hoping for this too, but I don't believe it will quell the ruckus. You'll still have people who will say the 2 best teams weren't there. And it won't necessarily get rid of the BCS. In fact, it will validate it for some fans.
This is not the computers' fault, as everyone makes it out to be. The human polls drive the train. And they do a terrible job in terms of consistency and geographic bias.

I want Oregon vs. BSU in the title game.
I don't see how Auburn makes it through Bama and S.Carolina undefeated. Bama has nothing to lose and the Cocks are playing with house money. They'll spoil the War Eagle party. However, if Auburn can beat both of them, they deserve the title game.
TCU will drop once BSU beats Nevada. And with TCU only having one more game, they can't keep their team fresh in the voters minds. Too bad TCU didn't throw another team on the schedule last year.
We have a 3-team race.....Oregon, Auburn, and BSU. Two of those three will be in the title game.

this has been one of the most boring college football seasons we've had in a long long time.
nobody had gone out on the road and done ANYTHING.
here's your top 10, and their best road win.
1. Oregon - @USC (unranked) 2. Auburn - @Miss St. (#25) they do have a big road game left at bama 3. TCU - @Utah (#20), that was a good win but it's not that big. 4. Boise - i'm gonna call that VT game a road game because it pretty much was (#16) and they do go to nevada (#19) 5. LSU - @Florida, florida is horrible this year, they are in arkansas this week 6. Stanford - ummmm, at notre dame? cal? 7. Wisconsin, at Iowa #24 8. Ohio State, at Iowa #24 9. Oklahoma State. at Texas, texas is bad this year 10. Michigan State, at Michigan or at Northwestern, either way they are unranked.
so yes, some teams have gone on the road, but there isn't one victory on the road against a top ten opponent. i do kinda like the bcs in a way that makes every week huge, but if it's gonna go like this, let's get a playoff.

Boring in that our guys lost a big one. Even a win over Wisconsin, or a Wisconsin win over MSU, would not resolve the issues at hand though. Our guys would still probably only be ranked 3 or 4 at best, and most likely 5 (however the only reason Boise and TCU are 3/4 now is because of the jump they got when OSU lost,..). Either of 3 ways, (1) Oregon-Auburn, (2) one of them vs. TCU/Boise, or (3)TCU-Boise, doesn't mean the BCS will just go away. If Auburn and Oregon both stumble, there isn't any reason TCU and Boise shouldn't play for the title. But,...there is no telling how these pollsters would view that. Harris moved the Buckeyes down this weekend after beating a ranked team on the road. Hopefully Arkansas will have something for LSU.

I think this is going to be a big weekend for upsets.
all of these are upsets:
I think the Hogs take out LSU. I think Bama beats Auburn. I think West Virginia beats Pitt. I think Penn State beats Sparty. I think Maryland beats NC State. I think Florida beats Florida State. I think Ole Miss beats Miss State (seriously, how is MissSt in the top25, they haven't beaten anybody) I think Notre Dame beats USC (USC might have their bags packed already)
And in the biggest upset of them all, I think the Horns take out A&M (Aggies riding high after beating the Huskers just feels like they are setting themselves up for a letdown at the worst possible time. Their AD should have NEVER agreed to having Nebraska right before a short week with Texas.)
The other big games with the favorite winning (IMO):
I think Nevada gives Boise all they can handle (can't see them losing though) I think the same for Zona against Oregon (can't see them beating the Ducks).
I also think Ohio State creams Michigan. And, Oklahoma State has too much for Oklahoma breaking the OU/UT stranglehold on the bigxii south.

2 weeks ago, I would have picked NW over Wisconsin. But, without Persa and with Wisconsin's running game looking that dominant (they finally figured out to just ride the best OL in the country), I can't pick that one. Should have put that in the below part, but I was too sad about it and the ramifications (locks Ohio State out of the Rose) Oh, and yeah, the past 2 weeks of not many bigtime games sure is made up this weekend with a ton of them

forgot to mention that all Browns fans should watch the OkieSt vs. OU game.
Blackmon vs. Broyles (most, if not all, think Blackmon is the better WR, but Broyles has a better chance of being there in the 2nd round if that is where we take one)

What if they do pull it off and the other 2 also lose,...wonder what the BCS would look like then. I'm thinking Wisconsin would still get the Rose,...

agreed. I think voters would keep Wiscy above a team they beat and they have no respect for Sparty, so they would drop like a rock (much of that being their own fault for getting hammered in Iowa)

it's just overall boring. yes i do love the buckeyes as much as anyone else. they lost their only real tough game on the road. actually overall, a decent but not great miami team, and iowa on the road, they're good but are probably the 4th best team in the b10.
but i'm also a huge fan of the overall sport. i get excited for all the big games. but it seems like nobody has the stones this year to win a big one on the road. even in the big bad sec. the best road win was auburn beating miss st. on the road. that's it.
i find myself not getting into these games at all.
the one thing that does excite me is to see boise get their shot at a top tier opponent. i believe they have earned it, not just for this year but for past years of getting screwed. i want to see it.
and i believe there should be an investigation if boise doesn't make it and doesn't get a true opponent in whatever game they end up in. i have a real problem with that. much like i did last year when they put them up against tcu.
that whole thing stinks. shady.
