This game would be completely different if these Arkansas WRs knew how to catch.
so would the entire browns season in 2008
I'd venture to say every game would be different if something else happened...

So true. Sorry, It was a bit of a John Madden moment for me I'm really surprised they ruled that a safety.

To be fair, Arkansas's defense has made some great adjustments.

Yeah, no way was that a safety.
Edit: Gotta love a 100% completely arbitrary spot on the fumble. Wow.
That safety is going to be the difference in the game.

Shades of Peyton Hillis on that dive.
Micah 6:8; He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

You can't blame the refs when the buckeye's offense has only scored 3 points in the second half.

I'm not blaming the refs for anything other than an arbitrary spot on a fumble and a phantom safety.

IMO, the ref's have not been a factor. The safety I actually agree with, he made an effort to leave the end zone after getting driven back. The fumble was spotted where recovered. He didn't get it.

That had to be the worst call I have ever seen. Forward progress was stopped at the 3 and he was driven back 5 yards into the end zone. Yes the defender fell off of him but Heron did not disengage.
The offsides call on 3rd down where we would have had the 1st was crap as well. Forget about the guy over the right tackle, the guy on the other side was over the line before the Buckeye moved.

Doesn't matter. The offensive player has to carry the ball into the endzone, not be forced into it. If that was the case, then any time a team wrapped up a player close to the goal line and drove him back, they could just ease up on him before tackling him and be awarded a safety.

Sorry but you are wrong. He was driven back nearly 5 yards. The play should have been over. He did not disengage the defender. When the defender fell off of him he has no choice but to run. What do you expect him to do, sit down?

I'm glad they let the players play. Sometimes it seems this forward progress rule is used to help out the offense. Just remember that great teams overcome bad calls.
This should be a good finish.

Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
wasn't deep comparing him to DA?
We're trying to throw the ball downfield and he checked the ball down to Trent Richardson and the Indians on the choice.

I'll go back and look as soon as my heart stop hitting the ceiling. I remember him disengaging the initial defender.

It's one thing to let kids play but that was ridiculous. What was Heron suppose to do? On the next kickoff Hall was driven back to the 2.

I just went back and saw it again. Heron was pushed back into the end zone and never stopped fighting. He knocked the defender off of him once he was in the end zone but he still never went backwards.

Boom was disengaged from the guy that drove him into the end zone (actually just threw him away), took a step and a half and hit by the next guy. If that initial guy makes the tackle, we'd be at the two.
