You keep spewing that but the real fanbase is going nowhere. Knowledgeable fans know that you aren't going to take a five year plan, as it was stated at the beginning of this rebuild, and do it in 2. The bandwagoners may fall away, but the hardcore fans will always be there. There is no danger of losing the fanbase and those bandwagon fans will be back as soon as the team is improved.

"The word at the combine is that San Diego guard Kris Dielman already has a deal worked out with a new team that will pay him a $12 million signing bonus. And we thought there was no tampering. Want more? The Lions and Rams receiver Kevin Curtis are linked already, especially since Lions offensive coordinator Mike Martz has made Curtis one of his priorities. If Curtis doesn't get too pricey, the Jacksonville Jaguars are expected to make a play for him as well. The San Diego Chargers could also be in the mix."

Would we already have heard if this team was the Browns? I know some of you guys have "inside sources".

It was posted a couple times last night that the Browns were the team, but it was deleted each time. Probably because it is a rumor.

Yes, I also saw that the Dolphins are in the mix too:

Miami Dolphins Updated:02/26/2007
According to the Miami Herald, the Dolphins have interest in San Diego guard Kris Dielman, who played for Cam Cameron at Indiana, and Baltimore fullback Ovie Mughelli.

The problem is there's more of them than there is us who eat, sleep and breathe Browns football.

And I do get alarmed when several of my friends parents, who were lifetime season ticket holders, canceled and refuse to come back until the Browns are good.

Does that make them bandwagon?

If we repeat 2006 in 2007, something tells me we'll be tuning into the radio for home games cuz they'll be blacked out on TV.

Maybe the pulse is different outside of my circle (which is pretty damn big), but I see disaster looming if we don't turn this thing around this year.

I also believe the fanbase is suffering.
We have the curent fanbase which is generally an older fanbase.
I am 33- I've always been a Brown's fan probably mostly because that was who my family was watching as I was growing and entering my teens.
At that time was the late 80's when we had the last good teams. I am still living on those years and hope every year we will get back to those times. (20 years ago)
The youth of today have these Browns to watch. The current team is a disgrace and most of the time they are not entertaining to watch, especially to a youger person who doesn't understand the game as we do. All they see is a boring losing team.
This is the time when tomorrows fans are pledging their loyalty to a team and the current team is not appealing to them.
We are losing the bandwagon fans (don't really care), but more importantly we ARE losing tomorrows fans.

I couldn't imagine if I had been born in say 86....I would have no memories to hold onto.

My first memories (i am 25y/o) was with my dad, Kevin Mack, Eric Metcalf.....If I couldn't remember that, or didn't have that. I probably would be a fan of another team.

I am from the City of cleveland (West Park) so really I ddin't have a choice even if I didn't have those memories.

Winning cures everything,

Give the locals a taste of Browns football in the Fall & Winter during a playoff run and they will never forget the energy, the excitement, the pride....fans on the edge of not caring anymore, part time fans, people who dont care, will turn over night, when they walk down town Cleveland on a snowy winters night and see and hear BROWNS...BROWNS...BROWNS....GOD there is not a better feelling in the air than that, I cant discribe, I've been there felt it, people ya dont know and will never see again for that split second your waving at each other yelling GO Browns....no other city or team has that level of pride, and yes fans will come back....us older guys will lure the younger ones back to the good side, and once they get a taste of Playoff cleveland Browns football it will be all over...Browns football is in every livings person blood, it only comes out in the chosen.....

I was born in '87, so how do you think I feel? LOL.

There's a whole generation of us who's seen jack squat and we can't wait any longer. In year 3 of a supposed 5 year plan we need to see results. I'm going on blind faith based on tales that you people tell me.

Just to give you guys some hope. There are still fans passing on the Browns to younger generations. I just got back my kids class photos, and guess what a kid in my daughter's 3rd grade class was proudly sporting on picture day. Yes, that's right, here in Newburgh New York, in the front row, a big ol' Winslow Jersey! I gotta look up that kids dad (or mom) and invite him over for some Sunday Ticket!

Yep, but what really concerns me is the cap hit, with so much invested in the line with (so-far) dismal results.

Cap hit is always going to be a problem if the guys you get aren't any good. The fact remains you are going to have to pay.

The Olinemen who get a big pay day out of college are going to cost just as the guys who hit their second contract are....the good ones anyway.

Sooner or later, good players are going to cost big bucks.

Were you old enough to remember the 80's and the tragedies that occurred in the 80's?

I'd rather see good football without a Lombardi than this crap that depresses me on Sunday nights and leaves me upset until Tuesday hits.

That being said, a Superbowl win would be the best, obviously. But at this point I just wanna see some exciting football from a solid team.

We early 20's and younger types don't remember it, and 2002 was the weakest winning team I've ever seen.

You have memories of "glory days," championship or not. My "glory days" involve William freaking Green.

LOL, I fell in love with the Browns the Fumble Game for chrissakes. . In Jan, 1988, you could almost say I bought stock just before it crashed haha.

The first 2 or 3 seasons spoiled me a bit, they were a good team with Bernie/Mack all the rest.... since 1990, they've been mostly awful or in Baltimore. '94 was fun, 2002 was fun... the rest of it, however...

So that must mean that we get Steinbach and they get Dielman?

If they are gonna sign him to a huge contract, let em. We need value free agents not overpriced vets.
