Wow .... next year looks like a much easier schedule.
The 6 games against Pittsburgh, Cincinnati and Baltimore. We get the NFC West. We get the 3rd place teams in the AFC West and East. (Miami and Oakland) We also get Jacksonville, Indianapolis, Tennessee and Houston.
That breaks down to this:
Home:
Pittsburgh
Baltimore
Cincinnati
Jacksonville
Tennessee
Seattle
St Louis
Miami
Away:
Pittsburgh
Baltimore
Cincinnati
Houston
Indianapolis
San Francisco
Arizona
Oakland
That looks like a much easier schedule right now that this year's was.

At this point in the second reincarnation of the Browns, no fan should get their hopes up about anything ... players, schedule, coaches ... whatever ... until they prove it on the field.

Well, right now the NFC West looks a lot easier than the NFC South did this year.
Of course, we went 2-2 vs the NFC South .... so who knows?

Considering we lost to the Bengals, Bills and only beat the panthers due to an act of god, an easier schedule don't mean a whole lot.

Got to finish building the OLine into laying out an unstoppable ground pounding, punishing run game. We have the backs (assuming Hardesty can endure,...) and I think Colt McCoy will be OK.

I'm not calling you out here............I've heard so many people talk about this hardesty guy...........who is he? What has he done in the nfl? Why are people hanging their hats on a guy that hasn't played a down for the Browns? Is hardesty the guy that had injury problems in college and couldn't play a down in the nfl?
When people say "player X has potential" it means player X hasn't done anything. That's hardesty - in my opinion. Why people are excited about an injury prone and injury proven back is beyond me.
And I've wanted to say this for quite a while - not calling you out at all.
I'll believe it when I see it. Until then, he's taking money he hasn't earned - and to me that's stealing. I doubt he'll be able to play more than 5 to 7 games next year. I hope I'm wrong.

Gotcha, no problem. I ain't saying Hardesty is "all that." Hopefully he CAN be another good back. Wasn't holding my breath there,....  I wasn't real sure, also based on your outlook, that we should have even drafted him,....I wasn't high on AP for the same reasons, but I was wrong there. But I wouldn't have drafted a healthy Pete with JT on the board (old stuff,...)

The incredibly sad thing about that is this:
We'll have more talent next year, and will be playing a significantly easier schedule.... so, whomever the new coach is, they're going to be lauded as genius for bringing home such an improved record.

That's three long west coast trips to SF, AZ and OAK. I'm sure the NFL will find a way to have the Browns travel out there at least once on a short week too.

Maybe we can open the year on Monday Night Football,...play Sunday, then Thursday, all on the West Coast, start out 0-3, like we always do anyway, and have that all out of the way,....

This team was 0-4 against other teams that picked in the top ten in 09 (= bad teams)...this team has shown that it can beat and play with strong teams, this team just needs better coaching (in-game, preparation, creativity, knowledge...everything)

Next year begins now.
No idea on what EM's fate will be, I really could see it going either way.
The schedule is what it is and we need to improve our overall talent again, as I believe we did from 2009 to 2010, but just didn't translate to wins on the field.
For those interested; we will be picking 6th in the 2011 NFL Draft.
Carolina (2-14)
Denver (4-12 If the score holds up against SD), if they somehow win they drop to #5.
Buffalo 4-12
Cincinnati 4-12
Arizona 5-11
CLEVELAND 5-11 Our strength of schedule was higher (tougher teams) than Arizona's which is why we pick after them.
With the 6th pick AJ Green would be great, or trade down.
Statistics are like a bikini; what they show is interesting, but what they hide is vital.
Drive for show (1st round), Putt for dough (rest of draft).

Me neither...not sure about the guy...is he Mangini pt2? With that I mean a Coord that got lifted in the air slipstreaimng a great HC? Isn't Reid calling the plays for the Philly O? Anybody knows that?
I also don't like that Mornhinweg was the QB at the HS MH coached...that's NEPOTISM....AGAIN....these kind of tight relations tend to cloud your otherwise good judgements...lots of evidence for that...don't like the setup of this at all....Heckert knows the guy very well too...I hope they seriously talk to some other guys before making that decision...I dont want to waste another 2-3 years

I hope Peter is wrong about Mornhinweg. True, Millen's ineptitude didn't help Marty in Detroit at all. However, the dude was a disaster on his own then (NEVER should have been hired to be a HC) and I don't see that he's really done anything since to warrant another shot as a HC now. JMHO.

I might be able to make two Browns' games next season.
Arizona is a 4-6 hour drive and San Francisco is a 45 minute-1 hour flight.
That would be awesome.

You know, all we need to get to be a good team next year is a head coach, an OC, a DC, a QB, some wide receivers, a corner, a safety, some linebackers, a defensive lineman, a right tackle, some running back depth, a kicker, and we should be good!
Assuming we re-sign Vickers, that is.

here's our new right side from stanford (i read that luck only got sacked 12 times in 2 yrs):
OT Derek Hall -- Although he had played in only two college games prior to this season and was the only member of this year's offensive line who was not a starter last season, Hall is expected to get drafted in the middle to late rounds He was a fifth-year senior this season.
OG Andrew Phillips - A fifth-year senior and three-year starter, the 302-pound Phillips could be a late-round draft pick.
and they are cheap at mid round picks!
