Man I don't know anything about this guy. Didn't even ring a bell......I don't like that. At least I've heard of Hood. Hope he was a cheap alternative for depth.

Yeah but you will have a few of those every year. Now if he is the only CB we sign in FA i'm going to be depressed.

Yeah, this is a cheesy way to look at it but... 9 year career and only 7 INT's.

He's got good size (6' 1" 207lbs) and has only missed two games in 9 years, so he's durable as hell. At least there's some positives. And he did have 11 PassDef's last year, so that's another plus.

I dunno, I don't know anywhere near enough about the guy to hate on him, but I'm also not seeing anything to make me think this is anything to cheer about at all.

On a good team he'd only be the 3rd or 4th CB but with our CB situation unless we draft someone early he'll probably be one of our 2 starters. He has starting experience so he's an upgrade over what we threw out there last year. I like Holly but i don't think he's anything more then a # 3 CB and if we are forced to start him next year and gets burnt badly the first few games it could hurt his development where as Wright has been in the league a while and seen just about everything a WR can do to get open.

I kind of felt the same way when I read that he had signed.

I guess the reality of the situation is we are thin at CB. We don't just need a Hood, we need some guys like this as well.

Say we land Hood still and now that we have Wright, we can focus the draft picks on OL/DL and not have to take a corner.

LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

Most of those guys can go. I could care less. Except for these guys who I would like to see back-

Brian Russell
Alvin McKinley
Simon Fraser

With all those guys FAs, that doesn't leave us with squat on the DL.

Edit: Maybe even Nick Eason. We just don't have anyone else really on the line, unless we make a few signings or get a decent draft pick.

I could care less if McKinley is re-signed.

I really don't care about Rusell either. It's Pool's time to shine and I bet Russell want's to start. If he would come back as a backup that would be cool but I doubt he want's to do that.

McKinley isn't anything special, but he'd make a decent back up. Who else do we have signed? Hardly anybody, and it's gonna be tough to get quality guys this offseason to stock up on.

And I agree, this year should be Pool and Jones. But again, after that, the safeties are thin. Russell would solidify our safety spot. He was our QB in the secondary last year, and is a tough, smart player. Yeah, he may not want to watch from the sidelines, but nonetheless I'd hate to lose him.

I am completely underwhelmed. Nothing but a stop-gap.

No doubt, but corner was our weakest position. In this league you need 4 players who can give you some hope.....we currently have 2 decent corners and a bunch of bums or guys who have never played.

I like the pick-up......I might not after he plays some, but right now, we need some corners and we got one. I hope for 1 more and 1 drafted fairly early.

The thing about corners is you can use them on all of your special teams....just like backers....you probably need 4-5 on your roster at all times. Maybe even a few more wouldn't hurt.

I believe we signed Butler to a two year contract about a month ago.

does anyone think that Orien Harris will step it up as a DE and help the Browns 3-4 succeed?

I hope he'll turn a few heads since he was projected to be more than he turned out to be.

If Orien Harris can step it up and take over for McKinley... Simon Fraser would be a great back-up for him, or for that matter.. they could split time.

We still have Ethan Kelly right? that hit he put on one of the steelers still excites me.

Interesting looking story on the OBR, but for insiders. The heading is "Goodbye Charlie."

Which could mean several things.
1. Anderson will be starting
2. We're taking Brady in April
3. Charlie may be getting moved

I dunno, I'm not an insider, just found it interesting....

It's much more the latter...#3...

I'm tellin' ya'...If Carr's still available come draft day we should offer up that 4th...Maybe even 3rd...But no way that swap 1st's idea floatin' around...

U end up with a REAL Starting QB and a Franchise LT or RB...

If we go down too far we'll end up with a 2nd tier player...Cause beyond about the top 6...That's what they are...

I think that Lerner has a MAJOR woody for Brady Quinn. Plus the Browns were supposed to bring in Marques Tuiasosopo today for a looksee, who Savage seems to like. I think that Frye is "bye-bye".

Don't be so quick to discount Fraser stepping up.. He's smart and has improved each year.. some guys just take a little longer to get to that high level of play,, I'm hoping that Frazer steps up this year,,,
