Ballpeen might finish ahead of me, but I just checked the last 4 seasons in BpG's league and I've finished ahead of you every time Poor Ol Moccasins

My fantasy baseball career has sucked thus far, which is why I was just messing with you. I got the hang of it last year though, and you will all pay now. Bwaaahaahaaahaa!!

You did do much better last year. 3rd I think. I finished 4th, 3rd, 3rd, 2nd the last 4 years. I'm still not to good at Roto leagues though. I've only done 1 and finished 7th out of 10. It was $250 per team though. I have a better idea of how to draft now in that league though. I hope at least lol.

Are we going to have the league with 6 teams?
I am fine either way, but I wanted to know before I spend the time to update my rankings sheet on the site.
Thanks.

If we have to then we have to, but I've preferred 10 teams all along and hope it ends up being at 10 teams.
I was going to make a post for everybody later tonight, so thanks for bringing it up, that if you have someone who would like to play - doesn't have to be a board member - but someone who you know will play then go ahead and invite them. The draft'll be here before too long and we need to get this filled.
Let's do this.

I don't enjoy small leagues so if you need me to drop out to get it back to an even 6 teams tomorrow it's no big deal.

Yeah, got 4 of my friends to join to fill it up... they're all good fantasy players - one is kind of an a-hole lol but he's cool. He's the kind of guy that if you realize by about June that you have a crappy team you just want to finish ahead of him... I'm sure you've all had people like that before. I'm sorry about moving the draft but it always works that way - help someone out by moving the time and it screws someone else... hope you can make it work! It could change, but looks like it's Ballpeen and me week 1. No better way to welcome you to head to head leagues Draft tonight at 7!

don't worry, that's why I joined. you'll have one rookie in the league.
(figures the first time I ever get the 1st overall pick in a fantasy league it's when I'm trying to figure out a new sport and will likely let it go to waste)

Pujols alone will cover a lot for you. I really like your outfield - and you stole Santana from me haha. You do have a lot of injury guys, but so do I. I took Utley because I'm just hoping to get something from him at some point and there were other guys at second that I could take to plug the gap till he's back... and hopefully Morneau won't take any more knees to the head. You have a couple of pitchers, but IMO you're gonna need to do some work there. Looks like a good team to me

I got pretty much everybody I targeted once I got to about 5 picks away from my selection.
In round 13 I had Neil Walker up on my selection screen ready to pull the trigger when Cheese and Taters snagged him just before my turn....ended up going with Aubry Huff. More of a BPA selection I am not thrilled with. Probably could have done better there had I not been so sure Walker was going to be the pick.
In hind sight I probably should have selected another RP...I have 3 pretty good closers in Marmol, Soria, and Aardsma.
I may not be able to pick up a closer at this point, but a solid set-up guy who helps pad numbers...whip, era, K's...a cheap win here or there, shouldn't be all that hard to find at some point in the future.

Thanks. any semblence of a good team is almost solely due to getting that 1-slot. I do like my OF but I never would have drafted Upton as I tend to stay away from skinny guys who swing for the fences and I definitely agree that pitching will be my weak spot unless Liriano and Lilly pitch like they did a couple years ago. Oh, and you should have read old Indians threads if you thought I wasn't going to bump up Santana about 20-30slots in my rankings with Santana, Choo, Sizemore, and C.Perez...I will definitely go down with the Wahoo-ship. but hey, if they win 80 games this year it'll likely be because all those guys did their jobs and I'll win the league

Yeah I screwed up in setting up the league... wanted to have 2 SP's, 2 RP's, and 3 (not 4) Pitchers - somehow didn't notice I screwed up until the draft. Oh well, not like I didn't have weeks to find my screw up lol. So having those 4 pitchers cuts down on the depth of the fringe SP's and RP's in the free agent pool. I pretty much picked Chapman as potential trade bait or he could be the closer pretty quick if Cordero blows it. I was hoping Walker would last another round or two but I'm alright with Zobrist as my Utley depth - I hope. The only pick I made that I wanted back immediately was Valverde in Detroit... I like him, but I was set to draft Broxton and the dude ahead of me took him so the momentary panic forced me to take Valverde. And I'm not looking for Manny of a decade ago - but in the 23rd round he could be the biggest bargain in the league. One year deal, playing for the next deal - I'm keeping my fingers crossed he has at least a semi comeback.

It is almost a panic....i understand.
You think you are locked in on a guy you think you are reaching for just a bit to get, then he is zapped, so you end up with Aubry Huff since I figured he could play 1b or OF....I needed a 1b back-up at the time.
Had my head been screwed on correctly, I would have punted on the back-up another round and picked another RP.
Don't worry man...I play in two other leagues...both 14 team leagues.....in this 10 team league, there are still plenty of good players to be had.....you just have to wait and see who is starting to have one.
Something tells me Aubry isn't going to be around come June or July.

my first team:
C - Mike Napoli 1B - Justin Morneau 2B - Dan Uggla 3B - Michael Young SS - Starlin Castro LF - Carlos Gonzalez CF - Grady Sizemore RF - Ichiro Suzuki OF - Delmon Young Util - Ty Wigginton Bench - Omar Infante Bench - Russell Martin
SP - Felix Hernandez SP - Brett Anderson SP - Tim Hudson SP - Trevor Cahill SP - CJ Wilson SP - Jake Peavy SP - Ervin Santana RP - Neftali Feliz RP - Joakim Soria RP - Joe Nathan RP - Mike Adams RP - Ryan Madson
I think I could use some help with my SP and I have to worry about Grady, Morneau & Peavys injuries but overall I like it. Grady was 16th round, pick 187 so if he's playing 2/3's of what he did a few years ago it's a huge steal.
