Understood, you see Dumervil potential in Moch, I don't see it. We just simply disagree. Anyway, just taking the guys from your list that I like (not changing the order from where you have it) Quote:

You guys have no love for CB VanDyke and FS Conte? I'm torn on both but they are both players Heckert seems to like (at least we are taking closer looks)...and both are draft board "risers" which means the GMs like them more than internet scouts....hard not to take a shot on a 6'1 CB with 4.25 speed
meanwhile 3 consecutive prospects off my board are gone now. WR Paul, FS Conte and OT W.Smith...2xRavens comp picks, Panthers and Bengals left

Well, Conte moved around well at the combine, seemed to be well-prepared for everything they did, but I don't remember ever seeing him play. I'm not saying he's not good, I just don't have any data. Also, VanDyke is a burner, but he didn't show anything at the senior bowl and wasn't impressive in the drills at the combine either. Adding that he's pretty slight and not really a hitter, he's not high on my wish list.

Van Dyke was the fasted player at the combine. And that is great, but he doesn't play CB. Never started for Miami, was situational guy only. I want someone that has played the position over just a raw athlete.

I selected CB Carmichael and WR V.Brown....VanDyke was gone with the 1st pick in the 6th, so the Carmichael selection was rather easy even though I liked both Burney and Hogan too...but overall Carmichael was the safest bet among those 3. While he isn't a press CB by any means he can step right into the Nickel-CB role and has spot start #2CB upside...I consider his floor also to be very high, at worst a #4, #5 Dime-CB....so a sure bet to make teh roster, which isn't guranteed with 6th rounders
V.Brown was a tough decision and I still am not sure what made me pick him over fellow WR Moore, OT Hairston, DE Elmore and RB D.Lewis...probably should have gone with the high upside OT but I guess I really don't like our WRs....also, Brown and Salas are too similar being rather slow possession WR but perfect WCO fits...Moore is more of a downfield WR and may have been a better compliment to Salas...again, not sure with V.Brown....maybe you guys infected me with him
Thanks to my 4th round downtrade I have another 6th rounder coming up...and if any of the aforementioned is still available (minus Moore, 2 WR is enough) the pick will be most probably 1 of those...outside shot for guys like OLB Rolle, RB D.Scott, CB Sherman and QB Devlin
#6 DE Jordan #37 OT/G Watkins #70 DE/OLB Moch #111 DT McClain #137 WR Salas #168 CB Carmichael #170 WR V.Brown #179 #248

I'd love to have a slow WR who's not a downfield threat average 20 yards per reception Code:

I say elmore... can probably get Rolle with the Mr. almost-irrelevant pick. Another DE is a bigger need anyway, and the bvalue is waaaay too high in the 6th not to take him.

My pick wasn't up yet...I'm now otc...I think I misplayed my 2nd 6th....should have gone Dion Lewis, who I absolutely love and pick Moore or Brown with this pick, even though the GM who took Lewis just reassured me he would have taken V.Brown but Moore is still there...I really like J.White here too, think he's THE sleeper RB of the draft....TE Housler and some CBs made my consideration list too here ....now Lewis, Elmore, Rolle and Devlin are gone...I picked Hairston, who is a very high ceiling gamble here..he is a very, very good pass blocker for being overweight...if this guy reacts to a kick in his butt, he's a 10 starter in the league...this guy can play LT if he wants to and be a dominant RT if he wants it half....so much Flozell Adams in him...he was just 21yo as a SR, so there's room for mental growth/discipline....it's not like he is an off field head case...he already was good enough to dominate without being in proper shape and giving his all...in the ACC...at LT....tons of upside....33 bench presses at combine (tied 1st, same as Cannon) http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/nfl/draft-2011/players/54380.htmlRound 6: Pick #166: Carolina Panthers - DeMarcus Van Dyke, CB, Miami Pick #167: Cincinnati Bengals - Da'Norris Searcy, SS, UNC Pick #168: Cleveland Browns (from Denver) - Rashad Carmichael, CB, Virginia Tech Pick #169: Buffalo Bills - Joe Lefeged, S, Rutgers Pick #170: Cleveland Browns - Vincent Brown, WR, San Diego State Pick #171: Arizona Cardinals - Brian Rolle, OLB, Ohio State Pick #172: Minnesota Vikings - Charles Clay, FB, Tulsa Pick #173: Seattle Seahawks (from Lions) - Nick Bellore, LB, Central Michigan Pick #174: San Fransisco 49ers (from Seahawks) - Pat Devlin, QB, Delaware Pick #175: Tennessee Titans - Brandon Fusco, C, Slippery Rock Pick #176: Dallas Cowboys - Dion Lewis, RB, Pittsburgh Pick #177: Washington Redskins - Ricky Elmore, DE, Arizona Pick #178: New York Giants (from Texans) - Henry Hynoski, FB, Pittsburgh Pick #179: Cleveland Browns (from Dolphins) - Chris Hairston, OT, Clemson Never been in a mock where I still liked so many prospects late with starting potential....I almost feel bad for leaving guys like WR Moore, RB, White, RB Scott, TE Housler, CB Burney, CB Thomas, CB Rogers, CB C.Allen and many more on the board #6 DE Jordan #37 OT/G Watkins #70 DE/OLB Moch #111 DT McClain #137 WR Salas #168 CB Carmichael #170 WR V.Brown #179 OT Hairston #248 Really love this mock so far...and since I average 2 guys a mock that we end up picking (exepct for the braindead's draft in 09) who would you guys like to have from this mock?...not necessarily at the spot I got them (ie last year I got Ward much later) Also, according to this draftnut I picked 3 of the Top10 players, lol http://www.thehuddlereport.com/huddlenotes/?p=532

Wow, after all that hemming and hawing you still got Hairston at the bottom of the sixth? I would be very excited if our Saturday turned out like this.

If Moore is Danarius Moore (sp?) from Tennessee, then that is pretty ridiculous. I still think Brown will be better (I believe he's a top 100 talent easily) but Moore should be taken around 150. Of the guys left I'd look at:
Byron Maxwell - the guy is fast, can play the ball in the air, and hits like Sheldon brown. I think with the other guys all coming out of clemson's secondary he doesn't get his due. Stanley Havili - if somebody sat down in a video game to make a fullback in a WCO, they would make Havili. He's got decent speed, good hands, gobbles up YAC, and is tough. Tyrod Taylor - he's athletic, he's got a cannon, and most importantly he's a leader. We saw the difference in the Browns with colt and without, and the biggest difference may have been that intangible leadership. DE/OLB Bruce Miller - his production with the golden knights really is off the charts and he showed athleticism at the combine. I haven't seen him play but his numbers were terrific and if you wanted to double up on undersized pass rush projects to have a backup/push Moch this might be the way to go.
Those to me are the top guys. I know you like lee smith with his big body and catching ability. Kind of reminds me of Heiden. Fannin seems like a strong value in the 7th as well.

I like those early picks.
any reason that you think we'll take Harvey after Heckert has indicated we are going to focus on speed at the LB spot? Harvey is technically sound and a big-hitter, but he is definitely not fast.
Just curious. Thanks.

For what it's worth McShay has us taking Peterson with both Quinn and A.J. Green still on the board.
Cool.
If he's the BPA, according to my fake "Big Board", then you pick him. There are too many players and positions on a football team to pass for a "need pick". Eventually, he'll find his way on the field and shine.
Now, without having a free agency period, that may complicate things for us and other teams. Even with that said, I'd still pick Peterson over Quinn and Green.
Use the 2nd rounder on the D-line. You can find a WR later in the draft.
IF we pass on Peterson, I'd be ok with it too. It's their Big Board, not mine.
Would it be fair to say our needs are:
1a. DL 1b. WR 2. Secondary 3. OLB 4. Backup QB

Yeah, he's starting SOLB, but he ended last year on IR and we have no depth. He's not exactly a spring chicken, either.

Yeah, Fannin and Royster weren't drafted at all...it happens...last year nobody thought prospects like Sydquan Thompson or Blount would not be selected and it still happened and they were very productive big school starters...Fannin was a backup
Other UDFAs "names" include: RB Bradford, WR Binns, WR C.Smith, WR Whalen, WR A.Robinson, WR Murdock, WR Pilares, WR C.Matthews, OT King, OT Bell, C Kirkpatrick, DE M.White, DT Siliga, DT Whitlock, DT Ogbu, MLB C.White, OLB Mouton, OLB Lutrus, S Hines, S Lainhart, S N.Williams, S M.Raymond, CB Maxwell, CB Walls

Thanks, forgot RT.
I'm guessing the FO would put RT at 4 or 5. They always seem to be more content with O-linemen than we are.
