Ahh, if only it weren't a hoax....
It's a hoax in the sense that it wasn't David Koch on the phone. It is not a hoax in the sense that what Walker believed what he said and thought he was talking to David Koch.
' and the fake Koch didn't spur the conversation right?
That's not the point...The point is quotes such as these reveal Walker's true strategy.
Quote: “An interesting idea that was brought up to me by my chief of staff, we won’t do it until tomorrow, is putting out an appeal to the Democratic leader. I would be willing to sit down and talk to him, the assembly Democrat leader, plus the other two Republican leaders—talk, not negotiate and listen to what they have to say if they will in turn—but I’ll only do it if all 14 of them will come back and sit down in the state assembly. They can recess it… the reason for that, we’re verifying it this afternoon, legally, we believe, once they’ve gone into session, they don’t physically have to be there. If they’re actually in session for that day, and they take a recess, the 19 Senate Republicans could then go into action and they’d have quorum because it’s turned out that way. So we’re double checking that. If you heard I was going to talk to them that’s the only reason why. We’d only do it if they came back to the capitol with all 14 of them. My sense is, hell. I’ll talk. If they want to yell at me for an hour, I’m used to that. I can deal with that. But I’m not negotiating.”
link The transcript shows that his only interest is busting up unions, not balacing the budget. I don't care if he's talking to David Koch, a reporter, or anyone else, it shows his true colors.
I read the transcript, and I fail to see where there is any mention of Walker only interest as being to bust unions. All he says is exactly what he's been saying to begin with. That he's not standing down and not going to compromise. You are trying to read something into this that isn't there. You are trying to make this into a caught you moment. It just isn't there. But if you can find where it says that Walker's only interest is busting unions in that transcript, then point it out, because I sure didn't see it.
But I think Walker does need to look at some compromise here. Cut the benefits and wages and leave collective bargaining on the table for a later time or just suspend it for 2 years like a couple of his fellow party members suggested.
"Don't be burdened by regrets or make your failures an obsession or become embittered or possessed by ruined hopes"

Exactly. Walker said in a private, set up hoax phone call, exactly what he's said in public.
I think that he should go to the court and ask that those state senate seats be vacated because the state senators are in violation of state law right now. They should be charged criminally and removed from office.
I find it funny that the media kind of romantacizes this illegal activity .. but you can bet that if it was Republicans, they's have maps on display, with cameras on location .... wondering when the police were going to show up ....... talking about how cowardly the Republicans were for running away .......

you are so "bent" on going after me that your brain locks up...lol
What's so hilariously ironic is you think you have something here.
A fake, hoax phone call from a farce of a blog, in which the gov. says in private exactly what he says in public.
Are you aware that a union dude - Richard Trumka - goes to the whitehouse 2 -3 times a week? And speaks to someone at the whitehouse every day? According to Trumka himself, that is true.
Are you aware that there are some 6 members of the presidents cabinet that have never met him? The president, that is. Members of his cabinet don't even get to talk to him, but a union boss goes there 2 to 3 times a week? Talks to the whitehouse every day?
You don't see a problem there?
I know you won't like the link - and that's fine - but read it. It's not just Glenn saying it. It's Andrea Mitchell - msnbc also.
Is it any wonder mac, that this multimillionaire Trumka, gets to talk to the whitehouse 2-3 times a week and speaks with the white house every day.......is it any wonder that this multimillionaire has convinced O to side with the unions?
Or is it more newsy for you to post links about the Wis. gov. saying in private exactly what he says in public, albeit in a lame attempt at a set up?
What matters more to you ma - a fake set up in which no wrongdoing is going on? Or a president that is kissing the behind of a union - giving the head guy of the union more face time than the presidents own cabinet? What matters to you?
You don't need to like the sources - just look at the facts. If it's possible for you.....
Daman...honestly, I'm a little surprised at you...thinking it's ok to bust unions and balance state budgets on the backs of the working class while the wealthiest keep on keeping on.
Like I said, this is easy, take 10% from every state worker, top to bottom and walla, the Wisconsin state budget is balanced....or whatever percentage is needed to take care of the problem.
Have you heard Gov. Walker say he would take a cut, along with the other state workers?
