We also did a 19-1 job against the Yankees as well in 2006 I believe.

4th of july right?

seriously, nobody puts the smackdown worse than the Tribe. We're like the Mount Union of baseball beatdowns/running up the score.

...once per year.

better than not at all.

I would also like to note that it is May 17th and the Tribe has THE BEST RECORD IN MLB.

just like to note that from time to time. also, we've opened up a full 1 game lead on the Phillies for that honor.

Weh ad a 22-0 thumping of the Yankees as well back in like 2004/05. Then we shelled them again the first year of their stadium.

Forgot about that one!! There was the opening day 10-2 win, followed up a few days later by a 22-4 shelling:

http://scores.espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=290418110

I think we have 4 of the top 5 worst Yankee beatdowns of all time ...
1928: 24-6
2004: 22-0
2006: 19-1
2009: 24-2

Detroit had a 19-1 win too back in the '20s.

well sure, but the Yankees have only won the AL once since 2004 when the Tribe has been beating up on them

Thanks a lot. The kid is watching Toy Story 3 on the TV so I was just surfing....I'm watching the game now.

How much is this service again? All teams? Only Indians?

I think it's $90 for the rest of the year now for all the teams (you can't pick one team. at least I don't think you can)

That is reasonable. I want to look in on that! TW screws me out of Tribe and Browns. I would pay for a Cleveland channel or NFL, but they refuse EVERY option thus far. If I see the Tribe, it has to be in Chicago pretty much.

You can't get Sportstime Ohio? (Or are you in Reds territory?)

As long as you're not in your local team's "home market", you can use the MLB thing for games.

I am in the Indians home market, so I cannot watch the games live. I tried it anyway .... but watching baseball games afterwards, knowing the outcome, isn't nearly as fun as watching football games that way.

I dropped it after 1 month billing.

i think it's 110 for the season which is the full package. dvr capabilities. home/away broadcast. otherwise it's 90.

it's pretty good as long as your internet/wifi is good. crystal clear picture.

Yes, last nights game over my wi-fi was good, not great. I really, really liked the ability to see an in-game box score, highlights, and all other things they had.

It's really the future of TV.....seriously, if I'm watching MNF and I want to see how many yards X back has, I need to get on my phone or computer to see the stats. I should be able to just hit a button on my remote control to see an in-game box score.

And you can see how it would be useful in every other show too. If you want to know who the actors are, other movies they have been in, who the director is, how much money it made, it's release date, and anything else.

But as good as that is $90 seems like a lot. I wouldn't mind spending $40 and only being able to see Tribe games.

you can also do 25 a month.

over the course of the season it's a bit more, but probably right around all star break i bet they offer the second half of the year at a discount. i might do that, pay 25 a month til the break and then buy the year.

call me a bandwagoner, or whatever you want, but i am not paying for this unless my team is going to compete and not send off all stars and future all stars, and hall of famers, and cy youngs to bloated markets.

i would not have paid for this last year. i'd watch on tv when they played the sox but i am not forking over my moolah for a crappy product with a crappy owner (and yes he's still crappy)

i'm year to year if i have to pay to watch my team.

everyone has their own spending limits and thresholds, but the way I rationalize it is:

$90 for 123 games left = $0.73 for each game.

I would happily pay it if I could watch Indians games live.

Unfortunately, I can't.

I know, and that's silly. They should be able to work something out with the local TV stations so they still get their cut and locals can watch.

FYI For those out of market, MLB extra innings, or whatever they call it, usually runs a half season special, which will give you the second half of the season for like $90.

I think they do it a couple weeks after the all star game

Yep.

If you are subject to blackout on any aspect of MLB, then you are subject to blackout on all online MLB products. (even the "free" games)

The only way tribe games would be blacked out on MLB innings would be if you lived in the Cleveland market, or live in a market the Indians are playing that night. Either of those cases you still get to watch the game.

well, sure on May 18th

do you know how many teams have a bigger lead just over their divisional opponents?

Zero. And, only Tampa Bay can equal that mark.

Didn't see you posted that before yesterday's games.

Hopefully we kick Peavy's ass tonight. He wasn't too good on his rehab starts and he gave up 4 runs in 6 innings in his first start.

Ditto here when I lived 12 miles further south I got all the cleveland channels and indian games. Then I moved closer to cleveland and further away from Pittsburgh and know i get all pittsburgh channels and zero cleveland channels. i call comcast (out of Pittsburgh once a month just to curse them out and have them hang up on me)

Peavy pitched great.. so did Masterson though, shame to pitch like that and get a loss. I love the headline on ESPN.. Peavy dominates Indians with 3 hitter... while Masterson spread out 5 hits and gave up 1 run in the first inning and that was it...

Many of the sports sites are ranking the Indians high in their rankings, while still taking their shots about how "they really aren't that good though".

Shame that Masterson got beat while giving up 1 run ..... but I'm sure that he'd rather lose that way than by giving up 10 and wasting 9 runs .... or something like that.

If we win tomorrow, we go 3-1 on this weird, short road trip. Then it's home for the Reds and Red Sox.

seemed like our guys were in a hurry tonight or something, a lot of early bad swings.

tip your cap to peavy though. he needed that.

masterson overall did great, early on he got out of trouble and gave 'em a chance.

i think the white sox are a team that you have to beat in order to win the division. i think they are much too talented in the lineup and in the rotation to be where they are in the standings. they will make a run no doubt about it. gotta beat them. we are 1-3 against them, which i know the first 3 games were the opener.

but still, they worry me more than the twins. i think minnesota is done. i think detroit is playing well but talk to me about them in august.

I hadn't changed my programming in about a year and they called me, other than that I have no clue. Also get starz, encore, and showtime free for 3 months, hoping I will forget to cancel probably.

Baseball Tonight showed it last night and I hadn't watched the game yet, so I dialed it up.

We tend to have guys who work the counts and are patient with pitchers (especially Santana). Last night, people were swinging at the first thing that nipped the plate. My only thought was that it must have been a scouting report that showed Peavy gave better pitches early in the count (so take 'em while you can get 'em), but after that wasn't working you would think they would have adjusted.

Anyways, tough loss for Masterson, but he showed once again he is our staff ace. Let's get the split tonight.

You tip your hat to Peavy and plan for today. He was on and there wasn't much stopping him. Had we worked the count more, we might have been able to see the bullpen, their weakness.

Outside of them beating us, I'm happy for Jake. He's had a tough, tough go of it for the past 2-3 years. In and out of the doctors office, can't get on the field, then BAM! complete game shutout in his home debut.

Yeah, sometimes you just run into a guy who has it all working on a particular day, and there isn't much you can do about it.

I wish the Indians would have worked the counts harder, since they have done that all year long. However, they may have swung at pitches that looked really good .... until the weren't.

Like you said, tip your cap and move on to today's game. I hope we put up 30 on them today.

I would have rather lost the game 5-0 than 1-0. Man, those are tough to swallow. Oh well.

I should probably try getting to the game tonight. Tickets are available and the weather should be ok.

i'd rather lose it 1-0. tough to watch, sure. but, just another feather in the cap for our pitching staff and more confidence. i love how good our pitching has been this year.

Wow ... what's up with Carmona against the White Sox and Minnesota this year?

He gave up 10 in 3 innings against the White Sox to open the year ..... 6 runs in 5 innings against Minnesota .... then 8 runs against the Sox in 5 innings tonight.
