Ah, I think his pants just always looked like that.

and I ended up being okay with the Lee trade because it stopped the Yankees from winning another WS
agree on Brantley. he and Asdrubel are co-MVPs to this point.
yeah, asdrubal too. he's really turned himself into an all-star level player. he won't get the starting job for the AL, but he deserves it, up to this point.

I would want the front office to make a helpful trade if necessary ...... but I do not want to decimate our farm system to do so.
We have a nice young team with a lot of talent .... and a nice pipeline of talent behind them at Columbus. We have 3/4 of an infield that is damn near Major League (and impact) ready. We have some nice pitchers .... and like Chris Antonetti said .... you really want to have 3 Major League capable pitchers ready at AAA in case of injury. (the need for which we have already seen)
I would only make a trade if it absolutely made sense for us, and it didn't cost us any of our top prospects. Of course, the Indians farm system is pretty loaded, so there may be 1 or 2 parts that could be dealt if the right deal came along. I just don't want to "give up the farm" for a bad deal.
Well said, I agree. I love what this team is doing but honestly I think we are a year away from being a serious contender. Let this young talent continue to develop and leave our loaded farm system intact.

i'm not quite as certain. I think our farm system is good, but not great right now. also, I think KC is going to be a serious contender moving forward (their farm system is great), and Chicago/Detroit will have more 'up' years than 'down'.
so, while I wouldn't mortgage the farm, I would put a serious effort into finding one more very good starter if we can find one on the market (the good thing about our farm system is that we can outbid the Yankees/Red Sox if we need to as we have more talent down there). that is depending on how we do this next month of tough games.
problem is, it does not look like many teams will be in a selling mood as most are within earshot of their divisional lead. maybe Seattle or Oakland falls apart the next couple months and one of their starters go on the market (though don't expect Felix or Cahill).

Glad to know Ammo has run an exit survey with everyone who's left.
I'm can imagine that everyone who's stayed on the board have similar opinions about the people who've left.
it irritates me when people state their opinion as 'Everyones' opinion, which is whay Ammo did, but in fairness he has had the same done to him who claim to no what 'EVERYONE' thinks of him.
People should just speak for themselves

It is indeed way too early this year to tell, but a seven game lead in late May is a serious indication that something is going correctly. I still think we have the advantage of being in -- as it has turned out -- a weak(er) division.

a lot of people say memorial day is a good first indicator of the true contenders.
They have had a ton of things go there way, but they have also been pitching great. Seems like they are getting quality starts 4 out of 5 times.
The fact that they are doing it through injuries, guys in and out, it's pretty awesome.

To the real Tribe fans: Congratulations, you have a very good team this year. I fully expected the Indians to start folding by now, but they haven't. They look good, enjoy the ride!
Thanks Sis

Too bad on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, with the best record in baseball, against a good in state team from the other league, the stadium was at best half full.
This Dolan crap gets old.
You better start supporting the team by buying tickets.
Oh...that was a general comment not directed at YTBF since he is in Youngstown, 70 miles away. It was more to those inside 40 or so miles.
It's funny on these message boards....people talk sports all day long but when asked if they ever go to games you get a lot of excuses.
I think I have a good reason not to go. I've been to 2 games this year and they've been down 14-0 in both games - the opener & today.
Joe Thomas made Justin Timberlake change his name. He didn't want wusses to have the same initials...

Please stay away. lol
