That amount is absolutely insane. While I'm disappointed because I think our 2ndary could have been seriously amazing with Leigh Bodden and Nate Clements, I would never be willing to give up that much. I almost feel mad at San Fran for being so pathetically desperate to offer him the most insane amount but hey, that'll hurt them later, maybe he'll be worth it, but that's doubtful.
I'm very glad we got Steinbach, he's going to help us out I think. Hopefully this draft will just revamp that O-Line unit.

Sounds like SF panicked a bit.
They were targeting very specific positions and probably felt like they were going to leave the FA period empty handed if they didn't get something done with these guys.
They were one of those franchises that looked to have a lot of upside...decent season last year, most cap money of any team, and a ton of picks in this year's draft...
...but these moves might set them back a bit.
LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...
