if GM flashes his butt .... who (in the large scheme of things) cares? If a Congressman does though ..... I think that really shows something about his judgement.

There is another difference if I was running for office and the pictures became public knowledge I would feel no need to be or to apoligize about them since they were done in fun as a joke, and my wife also has full knowledge of them since she is always there when the pants happen to fall down lol

The rise and fall of Weiner...

Anthony Weiner to resign: The congressman's rise and fall resembles Shakespearean tragedy
BY Larry Mcshane
DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITER

Thursday, June 16th 2011, 11:16 AM

The rise and fall of Anthony Weiner is the stuff of Shakespearean tragedy - if the Bard had owned a laptop

The congressman's two-decade trip from outer borough obscurity to front-page infamy ended badly Thursday, with word of his impending resignation capping his precipitous fall from grace.

The fault, as Shakespeare sagely observed in "Julius Caesar," was not in the stars but in Weiner himself.

The nerdy son of a city schoolteacher was born and raised in Brooklyn. The skinny, ambitious kid became a protegee of then-Congressman Chuck Schumer, spending six years working with the now-Senator.

Weiner, stepping out of Schumer's shadow in 1991, became the youngest person ever elected to the City Council at age 27.

When Schumer mounted his Senate campaign in 1998, Weiner was elected as his successor and moved onto the national stage.

The new Congressman courted publicity and earned a reputation for hard work. Like Schumer, he became known for his Sunday news conferences - putting himself front and center on a typically slow news days.

New York Magazine labeled Weiner "an ascendant force in New York politics," while the Daily News dubbed him one of the "Leaders of the Twenty-First Century."

The Forward called him one of the 50 most influential Jewish Americans, and he touted his friendship with then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in a 2007 letter to Democratic donors.

He mounted an unsuccessful 2005 long-shot bid for mayor, and was considered a front-runner for the 2013 City Hall race to replace three-term incumbent Mayor Bloomberg.

He opted not to run in 2009, declaring that he hoped to "build a family" instead.

Weiner was linked with an assortment of attractive women, including a television news personality, before he began dating Hillary Clinton's senior adviser, Huma Abedin, in 2008.

It seemed a match made in political heaven - ex-President Bill Clinton even presided over the nuptials. But things quickly went to hell.

Weiner's world began to implode over Memorial Day weekend, when a crotch shot of the congressman was sent out via his Twitter account.

The 46-year-old politician immediately announced he was the victim of a hacker - the first lie in a 10-day tour of untruths, where he misled everyone from his wife to Wolf Blitzer.

Eventually, at a weepy news conference, Weiner admitted inappropriate on-line relationships with six women.

He admitted sending out creepy nude and semi-nude photos, including one full-on shot of his genitals.

And he acknowledged that his cyber-antics had continued after his July 2010 wedding to the lovely Abedin.

Weiner soon found himself a pariah, fighting a losing battle to hold onto his seat.

Among those calling for his resignation: Old pal Nancy Pelosi.

I always thought that he was a little off ...... but in the end he was just a moron. He certainly lived up to his surname ..... in every sense of the word.

One more idiot out of Congress. If only it weren't so easy to replace the idiots with new idiots.

Porn star bares all on Weiner story

Rep. Weiner tells colleagues he will resign
NEW YORK - As Rep. Anthony Weiner remained in hiding and on leave from his job, a self-described dancer and former porn actress who was part of his sexting scandal emerged from seclusion yesterday and said the congressman had pressed her to lie about his online antics.

Ginger Lee read a statement describing an electronically driven relationship that lasted from March until two weeks ago, when Weiner, D-N.Y., admitted sending sexually charged messages and graphic photographs to women.

"I did not sext Anthony Weiner," said Lee, standing beside celebrity lawyer Gloria Allred.

In a gentle Southern twang, Lee said that each time Weiner tried to steer her into prurient conversations, she "did not reciprocate."

On June 2, Lee said, Weiner phoned her as speculation swirled about the origin of a graphic photograph sent from his Twitter account and about his online activities, including his following of Ginger Lee on Twitter.

"He told me if neither of us said anything over the weekend, the story would calm down and die," Lee said.

There was no response from Weiner's spokeswoman to Lee's allegations.

On June 6, after variously claiming that his Twitter account had been hacked or that he had been the victim of an online hoax, Weiner admitted that he had sent the picture and had carried on Internet-based relationships with several women.

Allred said Lee called the news conference because she needed to come out of seclusion, clear up misconceptions about her behavior, "and resume her career as a feature dancer."

"She still cares deeply about Planned Parenthood and health care," Allred said of Lee. "She will no longer support Congressman Weiner."

As I've stated before, this dillweed's immorality doesn't "bother" me (don't get me wrong, I don't approve of his actions one bit), but, like many of you, what does bother me is that this guy is so stupid. I'm a Democrat, but I am glad this moron is gone.
