iPhone 4..... got it free through work. Only real complaints are lack of flash and battery life. Otherwise, very easy to do many things on. The GPS on it is stellar.

do you guys have navigation on it? or just the map with directions?

It has nav.... that is to say I see a little blue dot that represents me moving along the path as I move. Tres useful.

oh see the google navi actually talks with u n stuff..."turn right" etc....and it also has the "blue dot" option.

I highly recommending the Android 2.3 update for all Droid X owners.

I updated and it's like I have a whole new phone. So much faster.

I can't wait for it to come to my work phone (Atrix).

I agree, I love the update. Is there a way to change the white color though on the dock that they added? It just sticks out like a sore thumb on my background.

I have a serious question:

Why would you need to watch TV on your phone?

Well...i don't live in cleveland...and there is a possiblity that columbus won't air the BROWNS games....my alternative would be tmobile TV!!!! i'm not 100% sure if it will be aired obviously....but i think it has a good chance.

Things like that....if i'm out with buddies and we want to watch a quick recap or highlights of games or something...i will never really use it to sit down and watch a show or something honestly.

Okay....bad news the TV is 12.99 a month LOL...i sure as hell am not going to get that....unless the browns make the superbowl and SOMEHOW it's not on tv in columbus

what I can't understand is how people can own a smartphone and ask questions such as this. I haven't ran the stock launcher in the 15 months that I have had my Droid. Every alternative launcher in the market gives you options to customize every inch of your phone

Why go through all that trouble when you don't see a need for it? Gingerbread was just released though and I've looked through all of the settings that I could think of to change the option.

Watching movies or TV on a screen half the size of a disposable rain poncho has to be a great experience.

I don't do it often but when sitting in an airport I have watched videos on my 4" EVO screen. Since the phone is maybe 12-18" away when your watching it's not all that bad. You definitely miss some of the smaller details due to size, but in general it's usable in certain situations, and it's beats watching and listening to the germ breeding rug rats running a muck.

I thought it was pretty silly also until I got stuck in an airport last week. Watching avatar was a great way to kill some time. I have the Samsung Galaxy S and I love it. Swype is soooo cool. I cant imagine texting without it.

Just got an HTC Thunderbolt about an hour ago.... so far, I'm loving it.

Best of all, I am not officially grandfathered on the old unlimited data plan

Autocorrect CRACKS me up. There's a restaurant in Akron called Otani (Japanese Tepenyaki-style). Right after I got the Droid I texted a friend and said "Let's eat some Otani!" It was autocorrected to "Let's eat some Iranians!"

We still joke about that one!

Seriously.

If you are away from your house, where do you watch TV? Can't do it while you're driving. It's impolite to do so while you're a passenger in someone else's car. Probably not going to do it at the store, in a bar, or at work ..... I would guess that a date would find it rude as well ....... can't watch it at a wedding or funeral ........ even walking down the street would be dangerous ....... so where and when do you watch live TV on your phone?

best guess... in an airport on standby.
at the doctor's office (they're never on time).
late night- when you have a bout of insomnia, and your spouse is a light sleeper.
on a tour bus/train, when you want to be left alone.
at a concert of Classical music- if you're an uncouth, mouthbreathing cretin.

beyond these few examples, I'm stumped.

"too many notes, not enough music-"

Most smartphone owners have no idea what a launcher is. Only reason I know is because I'm trained to know.

Android is cool and all...but I still want an iPhone. It's gonna suck losing my unlimited data when making the switch from Verizon to AT&T though (yes, I know Verizon has the iPhone, but it's a conflict of interest to have a competitor's phone when the other company pays your bills)

It never occurred to me to even worry about such things. lol

If I want to watch TV, then I watch it.

My doctor usually has a TV on in his office.

I could see on a bus ot train.

With your spouse in bed sounds a little creepy.

I would never go to a concert that I didn't want to go to. I'm weird that way.

I just bought a Net10 phone so I can cut my bill in half. For the amount I use my cell phone, it's more than sufficient.

Is there a way you could still have the Verizon iPhone and just not let your company know/find out about it? (i.e. keep it at home and use your work Android at work?). You could use them separately and there'd be no conflict of interest.

I think a launcher is what is commonly known as a startup screen when you turn on your phone. I think, but I may be off a bit.

could you consider working for Verizon in the future after gaining experience at AT&T for now? That way you could go back to Verizon and get your iPhone guilt-free.

It's actually not that bad. Just today, I went to Q'doba for lunch and watched about 30 minutes of "The King's Speech". It's better than staring at a wall or trying to read a book while eating. I also watched the whole first season of Sons of Anarchy on my phone while eating lunch at work (not in the same day).

As a kid I would dream about playing games and watching TV on my watch...now I get to do that with a very nice sized screen that fits in my pocket.

I don't watch movies at church (though I'd like to), play games while eating dinner with my family or surf the net while getting my teeth cleaned.but there are times those activities are allowed and appropriate.

Last year my best buddy was hosting his kids 7th B-day party at some rec center and it happened to fall on the same day a Blackhawks series clinching game. Naturally, most of the dads would have been checking their phones, running out to their car or trying to sneak a peak at the bar next door. Well, he had his PC out that was connected through his phone to the net and we had the game playing live through his Slingbox. It was great.

I'd rather not. Plus I need my personal phone on me too for when people need to get ahold of me. I'm sure I could have a Verizon iPhone, but why would I choose an inferior network?

Yes, that's what a launcher is. I'm saying that unless you're techy, most people have no idea what such a thing is.

And no, Verizon's work environment is absolute garbage. Many Verizon employees eventually move to AT&T because the environment is more conducive to success. One of my co-workers left a manager job at Verizon to be a sales rep for AT&T.
