j/c I saw on the news last night that there are people calling, emailing Casey Anthony with threats etc. Problem, this particular Casey Anthony is a big, black dude in PA. Pic of guy at this link (and more of the story)

Yea, I would prefer she just fade away.. the thought of her profiting off of being.. at best just a horrible person and mom.. and potentially much much worse, just makes me sick.

Exactly! She will never tell all. She knows if she does, she's screwed. The DA may not be able to charge her for the same things that she was charged with in the trial (Double Jeopardy), but they can certainly come up with new charges to lay on her. Same reason we'll never hear OJ confess.

I see what you are saying but the media and the lawyers have a job to do, I have no problem with them making money for doing their job... but for her or her parents to profit in any way is nauseating.

not the lawyers making money on the case itself, that is expected and their job. it's the media deals after the trial that make me queezy (interviews, marketing deals, etc).
and the media just makes me queezy in the first place.

every media outlet has a small section of people for that. ESPN, for instance, staffs 2-3 people for their OTL section (out of their 30K business empire...all numbers approximate) good, legitimate sports journalism there, which is why you have to really dig on their website to find it

I couldn't do it. I couldn't take that blood money.
And I won't drink the blood. I won't read their story or tune in on the tube, because that would make me as bad as those who would profit from this tragic story.
I can't stop the books from being published nor can I stop the media from profiting from it.
But we can all take the option to not indulge in their Blood Money and that's what I intend to do.

I'm still trying to figure out why we made such a circus of this case? I know I have read over the last few years several stories of mother's killing their children, and don't recall any of them taking on the 24 hour media coverage this one did.
If not for all the attention they gave her, she wouldn't have much to make a profit from, but with celebrity status, comes profitability.
We don't have to agree with each other, to respect each others opinion.

I just went to lunch and some of the headlines that were flowing across the bottom of HLN and they were talking about but we couldn't hear..
1. She is appealing her lying convictions and
2. Random people are sending her money to show their support.

I agree, heck we have our own nut cases locally and then there are the parents who kill theirs in a slower manner.
It breaks my heart to see a child or children and think to myself... that child doesn't stand a chance with the parent or parents like they have. There's the story that should be told, but what do I know

Now they are saying she may be in Columbus Ohio. http://www.tmz.com/2011/07/17/casey-anth...l-duty-program/The Columbus PD tells TMZ ... they have a Special Duty program, which allows people in their fine city to hire off duty cops for protection, and that's what Casey would have to do if she wants someone to guard her from the angry mob. We're told, however, if there is a specific, real threat ... the PD would treat her the way they would anyone else and provide appropriate protection, without cost. It may well be that Casey did not get on the Ohio-bound jet this AM (an airport official says the plane was carrying golfers) but the drill will be the same pretty much anywhere she goes -- if there's a real threat, cops will provide protection ... whether they think she killed her child or not.

Someone on my facebook page is trying to say she is back home (her original home) in Niles. She has still has family here in the Ytown area, so it makes sense.

I don't know why people care so much. I have no idea if she's guilty or not. It just amazes me how many people get so bent out of shape over someone they have no contact with. People need to carry on with their own business and lives.

Well, people care because it's quite possible she killed her little girl. People don't like child or animal killers in case you didn't know. That's why we're so "bent out of shape". She probably just got away with murder. How is that okay?

Regardless, she was acquitted right? She was tried to the full extent of the law, and the law found that it's possible she didn't do it.

I'm not going to try to speak for Trella, I'll just give my opinion... What does it matter where she's gone after being released? Why is it necessary for 24/7 updates on her whereabouts? What's someone going to do if they find her - kill her? Drag her to the town sqaure and stone her? Would that make people feel better?
I think she probably was involved in the death of her daughter - but quite frankly she wasn't convicted of it and should have every right in the world to get on with her life. She could be in Niles, Youngstown, Tampa Bay, Maui or Moscow - it doesn't effect my life in the slightest.

Micheal Vick killed dogs. I understand the dislike for him. No one knows for sure what happened in this case. I be damned if I waste a minute of my time yelling and hollering at someone I don't know. I work 60hrs per week. I just couldn't imagine how much time some people wasted getting worked up over it. Of all the things to do in the world, some people must have nothing going for themselves.

and some people (notably mothers who may or may not be working moms) take the time, because it's something that they feel very, very passionate about.

I think we need to allow time for some who feel the need to vent, to do so.

in the end, she won. she got out of jail and will go undercover. most likely with protection. then she'll be richer than all of us combined and live the good life while most Americans struggle. but the law's the law, and she was found not guilty.
she probably will hire similar security contractors like the ones they use in Iraq...granted, there will be nutjobs out there, but the privatized contractors have heavy weapons (.50 caliber and up), armor (relatively speaking) and she'll probably be safe.
