Let's hope the Reds start off whipping up on the Cardinals and continue to roll through the second half of the season!

Go Reds!!!

What a great win!!

I'm sure the Cards and Tony LaRussa are going to complain about Brandon hot dogging it around the bases during his HR.

Thank god they won. This would have been another demoralizing loss.

Yea, but did you notice Pujols watch his go over the fence?

I'm lovin' Zack Cozart so far.

I know I know. The truth about him will be told once he's been through the division a couple rounds and opposing pitchers get to know him better.

But for now he's showing tons of potential. And Yawnish is hitting .070 in Louisville.

I turned it off as soon as I saw Pujols' go over the wall last night. Re-run.

Good pitching by Bailey, and nice save by Cordero.

What the heck is going on with Gomes and Bruce, we need their bats bigtime to get a good winning streak going.

Willis on the mound tomorrow.....let's see if he can have a good game like he did his last time out there.

Tomorrow night starts a run of 13 games till the end of the month that should no doubt say how good of a story my 2011 Pirates will be... Reds and Cardinals in Pittsburgh, Atlanta then Philly on the road... and if you say Willis is pitching tomorrow, I'm sorry, that's one that the Pirates have to put in the bank with that stretch ahead of them.

The atmosphere at PNC should be awesome - I'm really looking forward to it.

GO BUCS.

Willis looked decent his last time out. The first 2 innings were shaky but he settled down and retired 9 or 10 in a row after.

I have to see a few more quality starts before I begin to believe that he can be a mainstay in the rotation.

Pirate pitching has dominated the Reds this year and as Starglow pointed out Rolen, Gomes and Bruce have been terrible in the middle of the order lately with runners in scoring position. Cairo deserves some more starts at third.

On a positive note, we have to get BP signed to a long term deal. Guy makes a gold glove play at least once a game. He basically won this game with that great catch in the 8th.

D-Train tonight. I hope he is able to give us a quality start cause the Reds have had issues scoring runs off Morton. We're still 3.5 back but these next couple series could make or break us.

Game getting started as I type this after the storms... should be a good matchup tonight pitching wise.

Willis is Willis, basically been ineffective for several years - but if it comes together he's a potential difference maker. Morton for us; that guy could throw a no-hitter tonight and in 5 days I'd still worry he's going to be about 4 innings and 8 runs. He has dominated you guys a couple times this year but that was when Good Charlie was pitching - the last 6 weeks or so have been bad Charlie, lol.

GO BUCS.

Too bad I can't root for anything Cincinnati. Living here and knowing the fans...I just can't do it.

Reds fans aren't anything like Bengals fans from my experience. And, yes...don't come in here and harass us if you hate us so much.

Charlie Morton vs. 2011 Reds - 23 innings, 1 run. Pretty safe to say he's got your number this year.

And I too was impressed he came out after that delay - and more impressed he made it through 5 full innings after 30 pitches before the second delay.

Good Charlie came to the yard tonight.

Quite a turnaround. You have a lot to be proud of even if they don't make the playoffs. That's an incredible improvement by the team.

Yeah well, they had no where to go but up. You can only sit in the basement for so many years before you finally decide to try the steps.

I turned down tix for the game due to the forecast....

Started out well enough, bases loaded, then the weather intervened. Not surprised at seeing the outcome on waking this morning, expected this to be a .500 kind of year.

It's funny watching/listening to all of the Bucco fans around here emerging from their caves.

Seems like Pirate pitching has their number this year or maybe it is good.

But the Reds just don't have any clutch hitting or any patience at the plate. The 1st pitch swinging is getting out of hand.

We basically have Adam Dunn with speed leading off but worse, Stubbs never walks or works the count. The 3 pitch strike outs are common. No wonder Dusty is a players manager, he sticks with his guys to the end.
