Interesting to see that the Browns showed him some interest... but hell, I don't blame them for not paying out those kinda dollars....

Which idea would that be, the link you posted has several stories on it, and you gave no hint to what your referring

I thought he signed with Seattle yesterday.

Strange. I thought he had already signed with the Seahawks. I was looking forward to the Leinart/Jackson/Whitehurst battle.

Also, Robert Gallery signed with the Seahawks.

Seahawks | Matt Leinart not signed
Tue, 26 Jul 2011 23:23:49 -0700

Contrary to previous reports, unrestricted free-agent QB Matt Leinart (Texans) tweeted that he has not signed with the Seattle Seahawks. "I am still weighing the options," Leinart said on his Twitter account.

There has been a lot of craziness this year. Maybe the fact that they are agreeing to terms but can't sign right away has something to do with it?

That makes sense. It's easier to beat out Matt Schaub then it is Tavaris Jackson and Charlie Whitehurst for your old college coach. Wait, what?

I don't agree with his ordering either, but it's a decent list that you don't have to sort through every single name (like you do on ESPN, Yahoo, etc), so I figured it would be useful to see the 'big names' more quickly.

Not necessarily, he chose money and comfort over possible playing time. Not sure I would call that dumb, but it does say an awful lot about him as a player.

The Seahawks were going to pay him nearly as much (pay) and he was going to play for his old college coach closer to his son (comfort).

ok, but he took the money (pay) and doesn't have to do anything but hold a clip board in a system he already knows behind a qb he has no chance of beating out (comfort).

He didn't think he could beat out Tavaris Jackson, so he picked the place where he could collect paychecks with little possibility of being once again proven a hack qb.

Could very well be the case. But after saying earlier that playing time was the main factor as to where he would sign, to sign with Houston is cashing it in to me. If your a competitor you go to Seattle and fight your ass off for the starting job, he chose to go stand in the corner with a clip board and watch Schaub go to work.

The Denver Broncos traded wide receiver Jabar Gaffney to Washington for defensive end Jeremy Jarmon.

Denver is also discussing a deal with Miami that would send Kyle Orton to the Dolphins, league sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

It's going to be very interesting to see which theory works best in the end. You have teams like CAR and DEN who got guns a blazin' Daniel Synder style and you have teams like us, NE, NO who aren't really doing a whole lot yet.

Given the history of teams that are acting one way or the other, i guess i'm glad we're in the latter. But there definitely seem to be two schools of thought on how to handle FA this year.

Split time running back gets 8 mil a year. One year in double digit sacks DE getting 13 mil a yea. 8 mil a year for a safety that may not even be top 5 in the AFC. General managers around the league have gone freaking crazy.

The money is going to dry up very fast at this rate and the smart general managers are going to find some bargains very soon.

Exactly my friend.

Right now everybody is talking about all the "big names".

What some seem to forget is the big names have multiple offers.

Since we can't offer them a legit chance at a championship, they aren't going to head to Cleveland unless we maybe doubled the money.

In a day or two the dust will settle, good players will still be seeking work and all of a sudden the Browns look like a up and coming team who are NOW offering just a little bit more then the other teams.

If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

Now that's a chunk of change for Rice.

He's good, but I don't think he's that good.

Braylon Edwards says the Jets don’t want him
Posted by Michael David Smith on July 27, 2011, 7:09 PM EDT

Braylon Edwards appears to be on the way out in New York, writing on Twitter today that he doesn’t think the Jets want him.

“I would love to be a Jet but the feeling doesn’t seem to be mutual with the management.” He later deleted his tweet, but Jenny Vrentas of the Star-Ledger was among the reporters who had already spotted it. (Note: Once something has been published online, it never really disappears.)

All indications are that the Jets made Santonio Holmes their top priority, and after signing Holmes, they won’t spend the kind of money it would take to sign Edwards as well. So we can expect him to test the free agent market.

Edwards had more to say on Twitter, having a laugh about getting sentenced to probation and community service for drunk driving.

“All these court appearances I should have practiced law,” Edwards tweeted. “Lol quick joke to lighten up my mood, bare with me the storm will be over shortly.”

Edwards then pleaded for some team to step up and make him an offer “so we can get this thing moving forward.”

For Edwards, moving forward will apparently mean moving away from the Jets.
