And not to mention, he only had ONE good year with the Titans. Outside of that year, he has either been hurt, stepping on a players head, suspended, out of shape, playing like a loaf, fighting with his head coach or is in trouble with the law.
I wouldn't pencil him into the Pro Bowl just yet.
That would be really going out on a limb there LOL.

Belichick seems to play whatever scheme the talent he has plays the best in. He doesn't try to shoehorn guys into his schemes, just because he is "a 3-4 coach". He is probably the most flexible coach in the NFL today. He'll have the Patriots play more 4-3, and Haynesworth will be a beast. Watch ...... Haynesworth will probably have a 15 sack season.

Fat albert thought Shanahan was to tough just wait till he gets into Belly's camp. I doubt he is on the roster come opening day.

He'll go back into beast mode this season.
Belichick ain't Shanahan, or any other coach. He is the best coach in the NFL at handling troubled players, and at getting the most out of them. He is then also the best at getting value back for them when they have run their course. Why anyone would trade with him amazes me.

FWIW, Belichick seems to have a knack for taking players that were troubled elsewhere and then turning them around into productive players.. Corey Dillon, Randy Moss come to mind immediatly.
but you are right, if Albert doesn't tow the line, he'll be hitting the bricks

Perhaps so, you can never tell what the Mad Scientist will do
Yeah, Belichick has had success with players who are head cases, but he also cuts them or trades them if they become a problem.
I don't understand why he tries to save some players from the scrap heap. Is it worth the headaches in the long term? I don't know that it would be speaking for myself.

A guy like Moss was immensely talented. I think that has a lot to do with it.
Haynesworth is also immensely talented. He might be the most talented DT in the entire NFL. He's a head case, but this situation really is a low risk/high reward kind of play. The Patriots were 25th in total defense last year. They were 30th in pass defense. They gave up 258 yards/game.
I'm sure that they want to get 1 or 2 more Super Bowl runs while they still have Brady at the top of his game. They went 14-2 with a crappy defense last year .... so I'm sure that they feel that a few pieces here or there could make an enormous difference.

Let's just say that I don't share your faith in Haynesworth. TJMO
Sure Moss had/has talent, but end the end I think he hurt their teams chances and yes NE robbed the Vikings of a draft pick, but they suffered, because they needed him then.

So Moss hurt the Patriots chances when he caught 98 passes for 1,493 yards and 21 TD's? Or when he caught 69 passes for 1,008 yards 11 TD's the next season with an inexperienced Matt Cassel at QB? Or when he caught 83 passes for 1,264 yards and 13 TD's in 2010? He didn't hurt anyone's chances.
And if their was a chance Moss hurt their chances it would have been last year, when Moss played in four games. But they went 3-1 in the games in he played in. And the game they lost he had a touchdown catch.
Moss didn't hurt the Patriots at all.

That's easy... He did not show up and so he was traded to the Vikings and they really had no replacement for him.
Oh they will be fine without Moss going forward, but end the end the head case came to be too much and that my friend can not be disputed. He was a cancer that got out of control and I could care less about what he did for them in the past.

That proves nothing. NE was still a talented team at other positions.
Perhaps had Moss been the player he was and they counted on, they would have won the SB.

New England scored 32 PPG in the regular season. They allowed 19.6 PPG in the regular season.
In their one Playoff game, they lost 28-21. It's not like they were shut out and going 3 and out every time they had the ball. You can't take one game and make it the end all- be all of a team's existence.

Why do the patriots get these players for dirt cheap? A 5th round for AH, didn't they get Randy moss for a 5th as well?

Unbelievable. How does Philly do it? The guy is going to bust IMO and they got a decent CB AND 2nd round pick???
Didn't they make out like bandits with AJ Feeley also?

And the Cardinals just gave a QB with 11 career touchdown over $12 million per year.
Crazy!
*As a side note, Kolb was drafted with our 2007 2nd round pick that we traded to Dallas for Brady Quinn.

The Patriots got a 3rd for Moss, and gave up a 4th for Branch to replace him.

Yes, it's a crazy contract....but you're the team trying to get him, giving up a young player and a 2nd round pick, making him your starter AND trying to lock him up longterm. With the prices a starting QB commands in today's NFL, you have to pony up the cash to get all that done. I don't see how they could have made that deal and offered him $4/year. "Par for the course" if you ask me.
Just wait until Colt nears free agency, hopefully he's good enough to demand a huge contract too. Heck, be prepared to be shocked when Joe Thomas signs his extension with us...it will dwarf this contract tenfold.

I could care less about one game. I could tell that they were lacking a deep threat in the game we played against them. They lacked it at the beginning of the year when Moss was still there.
Like all good teams do they found other ways to win for the most part and I think if they had a deep threat they could have and probably should have won it all.
Moving on...

They led the league in scoring. lol That's not a struggling offense. They had more passing TDs than anyone else in the NFL. (37) They did so despite being 20th in passing attempts. They were also tied for 2nd in rushing TDs.
Mangini and Ryan had an exceptional gameplan against them in the regular season, and the Jets did so against them in the playoffs as well. It happens sometimes.

I think Kolb is going to be good. But, Matt Schaub good. Not sure that is worth $12mil/year. But, there are worse ways to spend $$$ in the NFL.
if I was a Cardinals fan, then I would be more upset about the 2nd round pick rather than having it a 4th that could escalate to a 2nd based on performance.

$12.5 million per is 50% more than Phillip Rivers got last year. 35% more than Romo got. $1 million more than 2x puker-bowl winner Roethlisberger got last year.
More than 2x what pro-bowler Matt Schaub got last year.

Yeap, and did it all without a deep threat. Weather you want to admit it, it was ... in their armor.

If the contract was as simple as "5 years at $63 million" than yes, it's nuts. However, only 20-something is guaranteed (ha ha ha...."only").
Without knowing the details of the contract, I can't say it's a dumb contract yet. Maybe. It could be $4 million base per year...with HUGE incentive bonuses in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th years.

The New England Patriots have acquired wide receiver Chad Ochocinco after he accepted a restructured three-year contract from the Patriots, a source told ESPN.com's John Clayton.
Terms of the trade weren't known. Ochocinco was seen catching a plane to Boston Thursday. He was scheduled to make $6.35 million for the Bengals this year. The Patriots wanted him to restructure his contract to fit their cap.
