Well, we did go out and draft Owne Marceic (sp) and Jordan..Those are two other targets.. and you can't forget Evan Moore either. Just gotta find a way to get him more involved.

None of those guys are receivers. They catch the ball, yes, but this team lacks legit wide receivers. The wide receivers corps of the Browns (not "guys of any position who might catch the ball on a given play") is, statistically, one of the worst in the NFL. 8 receivers in the NFL had better numbers than our top three receivers (by yardage) combined, and one of those receivers is no longer on the team.

AHHHH, the difference is you say they were ONE OF THE WORST...NOT THE WORST... That's what I objected too....

And this is why it's STUPID to let your guys walk (Vickers, Wright) and draft rookie versions of the players you already have (Marecic/Vickers, Cameron/Moore) with prime draft picks. Because in Free Agency, you can't guarantee to can convince A SINGLE ABOVE-AVERAGE PLAYER to sign with you.

Now tell me this is part of H/H's plan.

Reports I've seen is that the Browns offered him more money than Atl. He just didn't want to play here.

Juicy info,, where did you read that?

Wright signed a one year deal with Detroit. I believe I read that Cleveland did try to resign him.

1. We didn't let Moore walk.

2. The only CB we drafted was in the 5th round.

3. The FB we drafted was in the 4th round.

And no ones knows what happened with Wright. Maybe he wanted a change. can't really blame him after the death threats last year.

4. Free agency isn't anywhere near over yet.

If Vickers plays for the Browns this year I'll change my sig to "I am an overreacting blowhard and probably wrong." I'll leave it there through week 8 and include it on every post.

Bottom 3. Split hairs with semantics if you want, but at the end of the day our receiving corps is putrid.

Point is, a great receiver can make an average QB look decent and a Great QB can make an average receiver look decent..

I don't disagree but a great QB can do a lot more to make an average WR look great than the reverse...

we can debate that until pigs fly and you'll get guys on both sides of it.. In the end, One can't really function at thier peak without the other.

I can't help it if people are wrong... Fact is that Peyton Manning can do a lot more to make Austin Collie look great than Larry Fitzgerald can do to make Derek Anderson look great...

This is a very good point that should be acknowledged. Until the team is showing better and winning more games, it will be harder to attract FAs. Granted, the money is the biggest factor but there are other pieces to the puzzle.

There was a post previous saying that Heckert is willing to walk away from people and I think that is the most encouraging sign from the FO. Make the deal that works for us and if it doesn't, walk away. That kind of business sense will make for long term success.

Funny, Mary Kay Cabot is reporting that the Browns wouldn't return phone calls from Edwards' agent and showed no interest in trying to acquire him.

Not spliting hairs at all,,, they aren't the worst in the NFL...Period. And like I said, you are blaming it all on the Receivers when there are lots of other people that need to be put into the mix. Daboll, the system, the playcalling, the QB's (until McCoy got settled in anyway).. and then even he to a point.

Look, if we had payton Manning sitting back there at QB and the receivers still stunk,,then you'd get no argument out of me...

Well, the relatively "small" money he got indicates that he wasn't that highly thought of...many said he profited froma strong Minny DL, being 1on1 a lot...but even if he is just an AVG or below AVG SDE...we have NOTHING there at the moment

ATL of all places...we have their 1st...hope he busts and they fail
