Gotta remember...Texas doesn't have KC's lineup. They are a first place team with the 3rd best run-scoring offense in the AL. And that stadium is as juiced as Barry Bonds was in SF. Give the battery a chance too. Weird delivery and new catcher. I also think he had a few extra days rest too. So he might be overpowering it a bit. AND anyway....we have a 3-1 lead. Thanks to C-Los. Dude has been upping his slugging recently.

The bigger question I have is....how the hell did Holland walk Kearns to leadoff the 2nd inning? Put the ball on a tee....dude would hit it to the SS on a 8-hopper.

Both starters have thrownn a ton of pitched. Jiminez will be lucky to make it thrugh 5 at this pace.

I'm hoping he can get through 5 and hand it over to the pen. I'll tell you right now, there's no way a 4-run lead is safe in this park....even with 2 outs in the 9th inning.

you should be thrown out of major league baseball and never allowed back in for walking kearns in ANY situation. I don't care if there is an 8 year old girl batting behind him.

It's his 3rd blown save all year. I wouldn't go overboard there. He also hasn't exactly been working regularly. He's only pitched 7 times since the 9th of last month.

I don't understand why Pronk didn't bat for Duncan in the 10th. I basically like Acta, but he makes some head-scratching calls during the game. That was just stupid.

with Carmona facing this lineup and our bullpen getting a ton of work tonight, we really need this win.
hopefully, donald/zeke can start something for our good hitters to capitalize on.

Santana gets the blame as well. Why can't this guy block pitches?? 2 times he tried to catch balls going into the dirt.
Acta did a terrible job not bringing in hafner. Shelly Duncan is horrible against righties, let alone feliz. Why wasn't brantley playing?? Acta is resting key guys, when we need them the most. NO more Austin Kearns.

really realy liked what i saw out of ubaldo last night, you could tell it wasn't his night but he found a way to get that game to the bullpen with a hefty lead.
laporta and santana should be ashamed of themselves. that stupidity is stuff you see in little league.
hard to knock perez for blowing that, but he's hardly done it, and like someone said it's not like we've had a nice set schedule of getting him out there to close the door. hard to save a game when you're losing games or coming from behind to win.
that one really stung, those are the kind of losses that come back to haunt you when you miss out on the playoffs by a few games.

I think they said on the radio last night that it was Perez's first save opportunity in 16 or 17 days. That's absurd. And pathetic.
As for LaPorta, send him to the minors if we can, and put Santana at first. Santana doesn't appear to want to be a catcher, and LaPorta doesn't appear to want to be a big league ballplayer.

The Indians are now 55-55, with a downward trend. I now think it will be a successful season if they finish at .500. I am grateful that we got all the way to August 5 feeling like we were contenders, before reality hit. But the talent just isn't there ... too little offensive production from the corner positions, too poor of defensive play from Santana, LaPorta, and others, too many injuries, too little experience and consistency in the starting staff, and an overused bullpen spell "not ready for primetime", imo.
Now go reel off 15 or 20 straight wins and prove me wrong.

Might win this one in the 9th. The Indians erupted for 4 runs in the 9th to turn a 4-3 deficit into a 7-4 lead.

there was no excuse to lose this one when you're up 3-0 in the 7th. At least Carmona is back on track. But the defense and mental lapses are still troubling.

No kidding. No reason it should've come down to that.
Still above .500, but still four games back.

Well, each team won a game with a 9th inning comeback. If you figure that's not supposed to happen, we're all even.
So, it comes down to the rubber game.

From what I have seen of C Perez - if the TV radar gun is to be trusted - his velocity is down 4-5 MPH. He was consistently at 96-97 last year, now @ 92-93. I wonder if he's injured?

perez has got to find his swagger again.
the indians are the most unbelievable team of this year. not the best, not the most talented, just the most unbelievable. every time you want to write them off as dead, they bounce back.
if nothing else, all these young guys are learning. they are treading water while going through growing pains. I think this is great experience.
I love that it was the young guys doing it last night too. chisenhall with a great at-bat, kipnis following with that bomb. these guys aren't there yet, but they are learning the best possible way.
good to see fukodome maybe turning the corner too?
fausto has been much much better since coming of the DL. He was tough as nails last night, got jobbed by a pretty bad call that knocked him out of the game. It's quite promising to see him getting back into form. That makes the rotation unbelievably deep. Masterson-Jimenez-Tomlin-Fausto and your choice of Carrasco should he shape up or Hough who has shown that he's capable.
I dunno if we win the division, but these guys ain't goin away. if they can pull out a W today, a 4-3 road trip against 2 of the best teams in the AL has me sold on them making this interesting until the last week. Not to mention all 3 games were won in walk-off fashion.

Trying REALLY hard to see how we get out of this with the lead edit: now we walk in a run, no shot now.

Anything other than a GIDP plus either a K or a foul out, or this is going to get ugly real quick.
Nevermind.
