I accept your apologies..lol.. In all seriousness..we need one..we don't have a CB worth starting beside Bodden..Holley is more of a nickle back.. Minter..he's unknown.. There are several corners we can target for a day one pick..

Drafting Joe Thomas or Levi Brown in round 1 would solve the Browns problem at LT and give Shaffer competition for a starting job at RT. Drafting a franchise LT would be like drafting two players, filling the LT and RT spots, plus Shaffer could be the backup at LT.
Thanks for saving me typing time.
This team has lost many games over the pats seven years because of things like not being able to stop a blitz or convert a 3rd and 1.
Drafting a franchise LT is something that only comes along once and a while, passing on it would be a HUGE mistake.
This team has no offense due mainly to the fact that they have a horrible line. Addressing the LT high in the draft DOES fix two more spots on the line. Schaffer moving to RT and Tucker moving to RG would do wonders in the run blocking category, while a good LT and decent gaurds to stop the push up the middle will help the passing game immensely.
Peterson being hit in the backfield will help nothing. Quinn with 2 seconds before getting hit will help nothing. Pass protection and run blocking will help everything even keeping the defense fresh, something that kills this team every year.

Exactly, I think some of our posters think LT is just another position on the O-line. Guards and RTs are also important but can be found all through the draft.LTs usually have to be drafted with a high 1st round pick. We might have to suck it up and do it. Just as all of the playoff teams did.

We have been through this but, besides Will Roaf...name one, Tier 1 free agent Left tackle pickup by any team, anytime in recent history.
You must draft a premeir LT when you have the chance.

U mean like Pitt and NE who happen to be the WINNERS of 3 of the last 4 SB's???
and this years winner picked their QB at #1 overall .. and where did Chi=town draft their LT???
*LOL* ... Ya ... good point ...
mac no clue what u said .... u made no sense what so ever on the old board and i didnt read or respond to u there .. doubt that changed .. so i see no reason to start now .. *LOL* ..
ddub .. if we get BQ or Joe ... CELEBRATE BRO .. either one is a GREAT PICK and cause for celebration ..
AP or trading down is NUTS .. its just not an intelligent thing to do ...
GM .. I thought u knew more about football than this .. why would u ever PASS ON PLAYMAKERS/DIFFERENCE MAKERS for more 2nd and 3rd rnd picks ... u dotn trade STUDS like u can get top 3 in this draft for MEDIOCRITY witch is what happens after the top 3 or 4 guys are gone this year .. DUMB DUMB DUMB ..
we need PLAYMAKERS/DIFFERENCE MAKERS BRO ... not more MEDIOCRITY ... sorry .. but its true .. this isnt 2 yeas ago when there really wasn't much talent at all on top .. and u could get guys as low as 14 or 15 with as much skill as guys at 2 or 3 .. this year there is A HUGE TALENT DIFFERENCE in the top 3 or 4 and the 5th pick ..
TRADING DOWN IS A BAD IDEA THIS YEAR ..
sorry Vers ... but this isn't the year to do it .. unless we can get a top 10 this year and a #1 next year .. NO WAY do we do it for a swap in 1 and more 2nd or 3rd rnd picks .. DUMB DUMB DUMB ..

Who is talking about 2nd and 3rd round picks. I have been saying I hope somebody falls in love with a player and trades us the farm. I have been saying a trade down in the first, PLUS a second round pick this year AND a 1st rounder next year.

Let me get this right,, you stopped calling me Dude at my request,, thank you,, now you have moved on to skippy,,, ? Let's go back to dude,,, OK As always Diam, your entitled to your opinion.. and normally, if we already had a line,,, or some reason to believe we have the parts in place that will grow into a line,,, then yeah,, I see you point and would agree with you.. Unfortunatly, we don't have that line.. we need more,,, Until thats accomplished,,, we aren't ever going to reach the status of elite teams.. Truth be known, without the right RB and QB, we won't reach that status either,, I know that.. So here are,,, which do we do first,,, kind of a chicken/egg thing.. neither idea is really wrong,.. I think going with Thomas is the best and safest move,, mostly because I'm afraid of Petersons injury history and I'm simply not convinced that Quinn will last very long if he isn't protected,,, I"m afraid we will turn him into garbage inside of a year... Perhaps unreasonable,,, but I think not..

my thing is this.. if Savage is such a good scout when it comes to getting talent.. why can't we use rounds 5-7 on the sleeper o-line... Joe Thomas is the obvious... and he costs a 1st round pick... I think we could get solid o-linemen on day 2... those guys will appreciate the opportunity a little bit more I think.

Btw-Roaf didn't leave the Saints via FA.
The Saints was one wierd team btw...lol must be that evil Madi-Gras atmosphere there.
Teamate or Teamates were sleeping with Roaf's wife. He was going nutso...he was going to kill somebody. There were rumors that he was going to retire. So they traded him to the Chiefs for a 2nd rounder. I can't believe we didn't pick him up...but he was Nutso at the time. What a pickup.

Apparently, I need to explain a few things.
#1: I never said that Savage has ignored the OL. I said........he has ignored the OL in the draft. Big difference.
I feel that to have a good OL, you need to draft OL on day one. This ain't for you Diam.......I am not saying first round each year, but I am saying you need a day one OL investment almost every year. Once your established, you can maybe go to rd. 4 in one year.
Why?
Simple...........OL are expensive. They sometimes bust. They retire. They get injured. They test FA. You need to grow your own. Thus, it is imperative to have quality OL, gathered in the draft, to replace the ones you lose. Building an OL through FA is stupid.
Secondly, I have always been a proponent of trading down, as you well know from our PMs. However, I ain't for it this year. First year ever! Well, since we came back. This year, the top 5 is loaded. It's a good year to be picking 3rd. Therefore, I hope we keep the pick this year and not trade down, provided Joe is there or if Savage thinks Quinn is a franchise QB and he is available.
Next.......I'm w/you on Peterson. Don't want him. I like the kid and think he is a good back, but he would not be the smart pick. The RB class of next year is loaded. We can get one then.
I am not w/you on drafting CJ. WRs are too dependant on those around them. He would be a bad choice, considering all of our needs.
Quinn would be a great pick and I could live w/it. You are convinced he is a franchise QB. If he is.....then it would be a good move. I'm not convinced he is a franchise QB. I am NOT saying he isn't, but I have some concerns, which I have voiced to you. I'm going to leave that up to Savage.......it's his job to determine if Quinn is indeed a franchise QB.
As you know, I really, really want Joe. I think he is the safest pick in the draft. I also think he is the best LT to come out in recent memory. He is much better than Ferguson, Gallery, and Mount McKinley. He will be a force for over a decade, barring injuries. He will allow us to move Shaffer, who sucks at LT, to another position. An OL of Thomas---Stein---Fraley---Tuck---Shaffer is pretty damn good. If we were able to draft an OG in the 2nd and 3rd, we would be sitting pretty.
Doing the above would help this team......long-term........more than anything else we can do. We have a legit shot of fixing this OL and our offense this year. Savage is in a great spot. Things are falling into place. I just hope he has the intelligence he is credited for to recognize it.

I would worry about it if he called me something really bad like,,, Fish Poop (another way of putting that is Bass Turd) but he just calls me Dude or Skippy,, annoying,, but what the heck,, if he can't figure out a better way to address people than that, it's no reason to get upset,, it's his problem, not mine.
As for disrespecting others opinions,, I kinda get the feeling it's his writing style that makes it appear that way... But who knows,, maybe he thinks he's the smartest person in the world,,, in which case,,, he's in for a ton of disappointment,,, cause I happen to know that I am
