Griffin is starting to sneak into the top 15 in a few mocks now. I think he could work in Shanahan's offense in DC.

I just think it's funny that Ohio State fans blast LSU/Alabama.

Ohio State built their entire run under Tressel through defense.

When it's my team I could care less how they win... when it's not my team I want a good game.... no doubt they have unbelievable defenses... but that game sucked...

Oklahoma beats Oklahoma State and Clemson beats VaTech in ACC Championship, and there is no discussion, two SEC West teams get in.

It's probably happening as it is, but those two things happen and no one can really argue with it.

He had a great game tonight... I think he had like 479 yards, 4 TDs, no INTs, and 79 yards rushing....

#2, 4 & 5 in the BCS fall ... What a week of football.

So how can they not put Bama at #2 now?

And Arkansas will also move up.

OSU was incredibly boring with Tressel, what's your point.

9-3 games in the big 10 are boring and bad football. 9-3 games in the SEC are exciting because of the great defense.

They'll be 1,2,3.

Just think if Arkansas wins next Friday... then what the hell do you do? You'll have three SEC west teams that all beat up on each other and thus all worthy of going to the NC. I'm not sure what their tie-breakers are for the SEC championship...

This is where I think the +1 would be perfect.

You line up all the BCS games and whatnot and play them.

Then after that, you rank everyone, and who ever is 1 and 2 after that plays for the NC...

Arkansas plays LSU next week, so I think we will see at least two of the SEC west teams at the top in the BCS.

And what if Georgia can beat the winner of the west division?

Two way tie will be decided by head to head IIRC.

LSU loses close to Ark, Drops to 3, Ark to 1.

Ark loses to Georgia, drops to 3.

LSU and Alabama pplay for NC while neither of them even played for their Conference Title...

What a joke it will be if Georgia is the SEC champion and 2 other SEC teams play in the championship game.

Bama will move into the #1 spot I think if Arkansas can beat LSU, because they have already lost to Bama. Arkansas would be #2, but then the Championship game could change everything if the Dawgs can beat the winner of the west division.

year, but also fun to watch imo.

only 2 teams from the same conference can participate in a BCS Bowl.

It'd be pretty hard for 3 or more teams from any conference to play in one bowl game...

I don't think they thought there would/could ever be more then two from the same conference in the top 4.

They might have to reconsider the rule in the future, because it will be severely questioned if a higher ranked team is left out of the BCS.

True, but Conf champs get in, and top 4 is guaranteed (IIRC)...what if UGA wins and 2 other SEC teams are in the top 4? Which rule wins?

I hate to post this, but LCB has a valid point for once. Fickell probably never elected captains because we never had any leadership at all from upper classman. Other than John Simon who would you consider to be a leader as an upper classman?

I'm so bummed I didn't watch the games yesterday.

I think if OK St beats Oklahoma they have to go... especially since they were jobbed out of the game on Friday. They had a late 4th q FG that was good but called no good.

Otoh, they still get to play the "we belong/no respect" card instead of getting their butts handed to them by LSU and having to shut up.

Btw, in case anyone else missed them, you can DVR USC/Ore and OK/Baylor over the next couple days on ESPNU.

Oklahoma losing to Baylor doesn't help at all.

But I don't understand why Them losing one game (even if it was to ISU) means they don't even deserve to be in the discussion.

I'm sick of "every game matters"

A couple years ago, Texas beat Oklahoma but Ok was ranked higher, so obviously that game didn't matter.

And LSU beats Alabama in Alabama but may have to beat them again, so obviously THAT game didn't matter...

Is Justin Blackmon Really 6-foot-1? (And Other Questions About Oklahoma State's Star Receiver)
Posted Thursday, November 17, 2011 2:36 PM Robert Mays

While some of us (this guy) subjected ourselves to a 9-6 final during the Game of the Century two weeks ago, others took in what might have been college football’s real game of the year, as Oklahoma State and Kansas State combined for 97 points, more than 1,000 yards, and no defense as the Cowboys downed K-State, 52-45. As he’s done all year, Oklahoma State wide receiver Justin Blackmon just did some silly things (13 catches, 205 yards, two touchdowns) as the Cowboys took one more step en route to the national championship game. Today on Grantland, Brian Phillips wrote that the best way to experience Blackmon’s dominance is to just take it all in. But there are some who have a different appreciation for Blackmon’s talent. We spoke to a few cornerbacks about what it’s like to be tasked with stopping the best wide receiver in college football.

When you were through with a couple of series, what’s the one thing that had surprised you most?
Tyler Patmon, Kansas: I mean, the guy really doesn’t talk, which surprises me. When you see his highlights, it looks like he celebrates a lot, but that’s one thing he doesn’t do.

Nigel Malone, Kansas State: His focus. I think for a lot of people, the first thing that would jump out at them is his athletic ability. That’s something that does stand out, but the underrated thing about him is his focus. When you go out and play against somebody one-on-one like that, you really get to measure somebody, and the intensity and the focus I got from him you expect, but in the game, it’s different. It’s something you can feel, and he has a great amount of it.

You never knew when it was going to be a run and a pass. Deep down, a lot of receivers just want to focus on the ball. Blackmon is going to get on you and grind you. Even it’s a toss play the other way, he’s going to try to get his hands on you. That separates him from a lot of guys I played against.

Carrington Byndom, Texas: He’s not as tall as I thought he would be. But you can definitely tell he’s a physical guy. You can tell why he’s one of the best receivers in the nation. He just always finds a way to get open. He’s a playmaker. You can’t tell that before, but once he starts playing, it’s obvious.

He’s listed at 6-foot-1. That can’t be right, can it?
Byndom: It definitely seems like he’s 6-foot-5 or 6-foot-6 — going up and getting passes, using his body to shield off defenders. He uses that frame really well.

Malone: It seems like he’s a lot bigger than 6-foot-1. I think 6-foot-1 is a little off. He plays like he’s 6-foot-3. And he’s a lot stronger than he looks, too.

Patmon: He’s listed at 6-foot-1, but he doesn’t look 6-foot-1, and he doesn’t play like he’s 6-foot-1. When you see him, he’s a big guy, swol guy. To play the way he does, he definitely doesn’t play like he’s 6-foot-1.

Down in the red zone, where quarterback Brandon Weeden likes to throw that fade pattern to him in the corner of the end zone — how do you even try to stop that?
Byndom: You’ve got to force him to do one thing or the other. He can beat you with the fade, or he can beat you with the slant. It’s a challenge, for sure. He does use his body so well. You’ve just got to try to take away one thing.

Trevin Wade, Arizona: It’s all about being smart. Sometimes being physical will get you murdered near the goal line. All he needs is three or four steps to the end zone. You can be physical all you want, but as soon as he gets one step around you, there’s the ball. You’ve just got to be smart and play the hands — as soon as he goes up, rip the ball out or rip his arms down. Most corners panic and jump up, but that’s not doing anything.

Patmon: He’s going to use his body. He’s going to be more physical. He knows how to use his body. Him and his quarterback have been playing for a while. If [Weeden] puts the ball in a certain place, and Blackmon having the body he does and knowing how to use it, there’s no way you can stop it.

Malone: That was one thing that [I noticed]. You think they want to throw fades to him all the time, but he’s a complete receiver. He can run every route. The fade is just one thing in his arsenal that he has.

After playing against him, where does he stack up among the best receivers you’ve had to cover?
Patmon: It’s probably between him and [Oklahoma wide receiver] Ryan Broyles. They’re just great receivers.

Byndom: He’s definitely up at the top. Throughout the game, you can just tell what makes him so good.

Malone: It’s him. After that game, it’s him. As an overall player, what he can do on the field, it’s something that’s unmatched in football. Even from what I’ve seen on film and other things. Playing against him is different than what people have seen. Until you’ve gone out and played against him, you can’t appreciate some of the things he’s done on a football field.

I think the best comparison for Justin Blackmon is Roddy White.. Both aren't the tallest but PLAY BIG.
