Dang, Mathieu is a playmaker! Where does he project in the draft as a CB and PR/KR? Seems like a guy we could use.

We'll have to wait another year as he's only a sophmore.

Ahhhhh....darn.

He would be killed as a CB because of his height. He needs to be a safety.

Do you mean Matheiu as a safety? A 5'8" and 179# safety? I guess he isn't much smaller than Jim Leonhard.

Edit: The guys who impressed me today that I'd never heard of was Sam Montgomery from LSU. Red shirt sophomore, 6'4", 245# with 4.5 speed - and showed it. Looked like he had plenty of room to add lbs too.

LSU is probably the most deserving team to be in the title game since the 2001 Hurricanes. - Awesome defense. However, I have no reason to feel that the #2 SEC team, or the #2 team from any conference, deserves to be in the title game.

Alabama lost at home to LSU. They do not belong in the title game.

LSU vs. Oklahoma State should be a good one. If it's Alabama v LSU, I won't watch. - About the only recourse I have.

I really really really don't think Alabama deserves to be in this game, because they didn't play for a conference title, which any SEC honk will tell you that is the most important game to them (as said by our very own SEC honk, Ballpeen)

Not to mention they had their chance at LSU, in their own stadium, and they blew it. They played a bad game and they know it. College football ain't about second chances.

However...

You almost have to put them in, because nobody else has a body of work that is worthy of a championship appearance. I haven't seen enough from Stanford on top of the fact they, like Alabama, did not play for a conference championship. I think Oklahoma State, should they close this game out strong tonight, maybe they have somewhat of a case (up 24-3 halftime on OU) but honestly I don't think they're a better team than Alabama.

I think Ohio State could have been that team had they not gone through everything they did. Terrelle Pryor as a senior, Boom, Posey, a defense that at one point was playing very very well together.

Boise State had their best chance this year and only have themselves to blame.

I just can't think of another team worthy to play in this game other than Alabama, simply because they had a pretty good body of work, and only 1 loss.

Ok State lost to a horrible Iowa State at home.... hard to give them #2 unless they cotninue to pile it onto OU tonight...

I was thinking the Hokies might look like a top 3 team tonight but they are in a battle with Clemson that is not looking good right now....

Hard to argue that Bama isn't the second best team... had an amazing defense and lost to the number 1 team in the nation by 3 in OT. Of course that was one of the most patheticly over-hyped game I've ever seen.... Bama missed I think 4 FGs and had a tone of mistakes that lead to the loss.

I think LSU wins again when they play... they've beaten 8 top 25 teams... I HATE LSU.... hate, hate, hate em..... but they are clearly head and shoulders better than the rest of the nation.... I think Bama will be a good match up but I'm not sure I want to watch it again....

That's what I'll take away from this season. This was the year Boise would have made it to the title game if they hadn't lost. Too bad for them.

I thought Oregon would have made it....but they lost to Stanford recently.

I don't want Bama there (lost at home to LSU AND didn't win their own division, let alone their conference)....but it's probably going to be them and like you said, they have the best #2 resume right now. I'm ok with it.

Actually Oregon spanked Stanford this year, they lost to USC afterward though. (USC looked like a great team by the end of the year)

Oregon got decked by LSU in the first weekend of the year.

Also, that same weekend, Boise State handled Georgia in that same building, kinda funny isn't it?

That's right, it was USC.

Oh well, college football isn't really about the last game anyway........as much as I didn't like it years ago. college football has a playoff and it's all season long. You really have to win every game. Once you lose, you're at the mercy of your resume versus everyone else's resume. Win them all and you're guaranteed a high probability of a title shot.

Ok St, Bama, Oregon, Wisconsin, Boise, Stanford, etc. all had their chances.

I think it was a good season (except Toledo missing their chance to beat OSU in the shoe and then that horrible extra point call in Syracuse).

I want a playoff like everyone else, but I also still watch now, so I guess I play into why it stays the same. I watch, I tune in. I'm a consumer.

I wouldn't have such a problem with how they did it now, if the NCAA controlled non-conference scheduling, and maybe reshuffled the conferences properly, and took away AQ status for the Big East.

I still say OKST won that game. The fieldgoal was good. I dont know hat the hell that ref was looking at. Heck I just want to see the best from the various conferences facing off.

I was joking with a Wisc friend early in the 2nd quarter that the local government changed the host city's name to Inianapolis and the arena to Lucas Oil Staium...because no D seemed to be the theme of the night.

Exciting game though, when I can watch it between work calls.

I really hope they decide to move this game around. Indy is taking a lot of heat for not being able to sell this game out, but I think the problem is that neither of these teams have huge traveling fan bases, and neither of these teams has any chance of making the big game.

I think if this same game, under the same circumstances, were to be played at Browns stadium, it'd have trouble selling out. Lambeau field and maybe Ford field? Sure, because you'd have the locals with some interest.

I don't mind the inside condtions either. I kinda hope we get the game moved around, some games are indoors, others might be played in cold weather/rain/snow/sleet conditions. I think that's the best way.

I'm not a huge fan of horrible weather games where one team wins 6-3 because nobody takes any chances, outside of games like that Buffalo blizzard game where that was just flat out fun.

Great game.

What a defensive struggle .... with Michigan State leading 39-34.

Man Monte Ball is one hell of a player. He's not huge, but he is a beast inside, outside, on the edge and between the tackles.

Wow, what a great play by Wilson on 4th down for 36 yards leading to a Wisky TD ....... then another great play by Wilson to get the 2 point conversion.

Ball has 4 TDs in this game. (3 rush 1 receiving)

Wow, Michigan State punts on 3rd and 8 with 3 minutes left. I don't know if I'd do that if I were then. Wisconsin will probably just keep handing off to Ball to run out the clock .... and he's the guy to do it.

Wow! Michigan State forces the punt, but then runs into the kicker to give Wisconsin a 1st down.

What a huge mistake.

Wisky will win the 1st Big 10 Championship Game.

That's how you end a great inaugural Big Ten Championship game... On a personal foul. Well done refs!

Well, in fairness, they had no choice but to call that one. The punter kept his leg up there as long as he could ..... just like he's supposed to. Nothing dirty or wrong about it ..... Michigan State committed a penalty, clear as day, and they lost as a result. It sucks for them, but there's no disputing that the penalty was the right call.

I know, it's just aggravating to watch a great game end like that. That punter should win an Oscar next year, great acting.

Fortunately, I didn't care which team won, so it doesn't bother me at all. lol

If I remember correctly, Okie St has one loss to ISU which occurred 2 days after the tragic plane crash. I don't think you should expect college kids to be able to handle that emotionally and play a great game. I give that consideration and put them in the title game vs LSU.

The loss was the day that it was announced that the plane crash had occurred. The plane crash happened late Thursday night, Nov. 17th. The loss was Friday night, Nov. 18th.

I have said that, and still do.

As for Bama....I have mixed emotions. They are damn good and they probably are the next best team in the country ( really, no doubt in my mind), but sometimes your greatest blessing is also your greatest curse and not winning your conference is a big step to hurdle in my mind.

I'll take that back....not playing in your championship. I'd be more open if a team lost there and still got the BCS game.

For me I would rather see another team matched with LSU. Rather than see two SEC teams pound on each other again, I'd rather see the two of them pound the crap out of other conference teams.

Wins vs Top 25 BCS: OK State with 5, Alabama has 2; gotta go OSU vs LSU in BCS Championship game.

Isn't the whole SEC teams should get in argument because of who they beat? If Bama gets in I will advocate for playoffs until the end of time.

All people want to talk about is who OSU lost too, ignoring they have better wins than Bama does...

A fluke loss on the road isn't that much worse than a loss at home...

Pretty much. Who is Alabama's best win? Arkansas. After that, does anyone even know?

What case is that??

At the time Bama beat some of these teams, they were ranked teams.

On one hand it could be argued the teams were over rated, on the other it could be argued the loss to Bama is what caused the slide.

In the end I do tend to agree with many, I would rather see Ok St play for reasons I have mentioned earlier, not simply because I think they are a better team, though they very well could be.

Playoff won't happen, but a plus one will, and it would solve the problem, this year and all years.

Who is going to be #4 this week??

Add them to Ok St, Bama, and LSU. Play them in some combination in the Bowls, then play the winners....fixed.

If you are number 5 or lower, too bad
because more often than not, the real debate, if there is one, is about the top 3 teams, not the top 5 teams.
