For people wondering about RG3s arm strength.

I believe the best measure of arm strength that matters-- the midrange out pattern at the sideline that has to be on a rope or it's a pick 6. If the QB can throw that, his arm strength is sufficient and that's all that needs to be said about it. Anything extra is just for show.

I think u are correct sir.

I looked up a few RG3 videos on youtube and most were filled with his option plays or collapsed pocket runs, while spectacular.....not many passes were highlighted. Like I said above or in another draft thread, I only saw the crazy game he had against Oklahoma....so I can't really speak to his full file cabinet of talent. From what I saw in that game, I would want him as a NFL head coach (not saying the Browns head coach.....speaking from any team looking for a QB).

I DVR'd the Baylor game so I'll key in on him tonight. I'm no NFL scout or master of game tape, so I won't know what to really look for. Maybe how quickly he looks to run (Pryor and old Vick would bail after their first read or any sign of pressure).

I really like EJ Manuel but he has no chance behind this line. If I were him, I would go pro just to get away from that offensive line.

I agree - I haven't seen many of those from RG3 (i've only seen two games though) - will be watching tonight.

As a sidenote, Tannehill is a master of this throw.

A big play dropped ball by Floyd. Maybe he would fit in here

I'm sorry Mourg....he's horrible...can't make quick decisions and runs backwards into even more pressure....he'd be eaten alive in the NFL....ND's D is good but not great and the FSU line has 2 top 100 OT prospects in it...and when he had time he threw very bad passes...I'm not seeing a Top 50 pick, he should stay for his SR season, he's too raw for the show

and yes, I have FSU -3

oh, and no way I even consider drafting Floyd...let someone else find out, we cant afford boom or bust picks in the 1st....this Bradham dude though looks like an interesting mid round OLB

Line provided protection and he looked good. Kid reminds me a lot of Duante Culpepper but his stock took a beating tonight. Wasn't setting his feet, was looking for pressure instead of his targets.

FSUs o-line is incredibly overrated. I would not draft a single player on that line.

Entire OL is injured except for Sanders. Not a big fan of his but most have him as a first rounder at the moment.

Michael Floyd on the sideline with his helmet on watching as his offense struggles knowing they need a TD to win, because someone punched him in the tummy? He killed his stock.

I believe they are all very young (and commonly thought of as terrible) - except for Sanders on the outside - one good LT will not make a line look good.

Right handed M. Vick with the the arm flick. Colt would have to wind up for 4 days to throw some of those in the first drive.

That one was more on bad camera guy than powerful arm lol. He is just weird to watch. Feet is going everywhere on his throws and he still has accuracy and a good arm lol Its not supposed to work that way.

His throwing motion is best described as throwing darts. Litterally throwing darts. Man this one is gonna be a shootout. The QB from washington has really improved as well. Looks good.

Amazing athleticism, but remember, this is against Washington's defense...not exactly a top notch defense by any means.

Still impressive to see at this level

If we take RG3 with our first pick and don't improve our line AND give him weapons....what we have seen during the second quarter is what we will see next year..........Thoughts???

He's been under pressure all year long.

His line is ridiculously bad.

They just changed their LT.

Their defense is absolutely horrible.

I still like RG3's skills and abilities.

Nah, and that last play is why.

Coverage down the field, so he drops off a nice little WR screen for 15.

Beautiful play and solid NFL type decision there.

How can you say that's a beautiful play?? They gave that up to prevent a big play...NFL type of decision.....ALL NFL teams will give up the underneath stuff to prevent getting beat deep when the opposing team has 30 seconds to try to get into field goal position (Washington's kick off didn't help their defense at all btw)

They were playing prevent, he merely took what they gave him. That was hardly something special.

For a guy who is known for throwing deep .... having that situation, with limited time left, that was excellent decision making. He was decisive, and hit his open receivers immediately, and didn't force stuff into doubles.

The natural thing for a guy like that might be to force the ball deep ...... throw a couple of times into the end zone ...... maybe get it picked .... and come away with nothing. Instead they went from their own 33 to the Washington 25 in 26 seconds. I don't recall any "college time outs", the players got out of bounds to stop the clock. He took what the defense gave them, and that's the point. He had to take what he normally does and set it aside in order for the team to benefit.

If Colt McCoy made that pass he'd be checking down because he was afraid to throw downfield.

The difference is that McCoy's check downs go for 4 yards.

Plus, no team defenses McCoy by playing deep coverage.

OK, something I've never really noticed before until now. Baylor has two #10's RG3 on the O and somebody else on D. Is this common at all in college? I don't know if I've just never paid that close of attention or what.

I think the kid has skills that you just cannot teach.

Kid for Washington looks pretty damn good tonight.

It's fairly common.
