So you're ok with a below average game manager at QB?
Not for my team. It can work in the regular season but rarely works in the post season. You face an elite QB and you tend to lose when all you can counter with is a game manager.
I can see why the Broncos like him .... he does a lot of things well, and is really pretty deadly in the 4th ...... but I prefer to have a guy who can score all game long.

I feel the need to say this in case anyone else feels like PMing me.
I support the fact Tebow is a Christian. I am Christian, I love how Tebow embraces it and shares his belief. I wish EVERY Christian in the NFL was like this. People need to stop thinking I am atheist because I think Tebow is not a QB. That notion offends me greatly. I will never disrespect Tebow for his beliefs and how TV promotes it.

I haven't PM'd you.
I just think it funny how you talk about exploiting the Pats weak secondary, yet they are 11-3, and make it sound like bad QB play from Tebow is the reason Denver lost.
I just think you have a agenda.
What it is I am not sure, and maybe why you are getting PM's.

And he was very average in the air against them today. Another 50% day passing the football. I get that he hasn't thrown the INT but that's not consistently moving the football well enough to actually win playoff games. Against the teams they'll see come that time, today really showed that their doing well by winning the games they should, but they're still limited for a deep push.

So now we are talking about winning playoff games while our team can't win games.

The Broncos were in a no win situation today - unless they won. Since they lost, the "Tebow haters" will be out in force saying "I told you". Had the Bronc's won, it would be the same old thing: "they won despite Tebow".
Every victory is "well, Tebow sucked and the d won the game",......every loss is "see, Tebow can't do it".
Apparently people forget it's a TEAM game.

It's about evaluating QB play as a whole and not the be-all end-all result. It has nothing to do with us, either. For being on Candyman about smack shack debate tactics, you sure have no problem disproportionately bashing anyone who points out obvious flaws in his game that are at the core of if he will end up being a longterm, viable QB (or even elite or- as you predict- "Super Bowl MVP"). That's all I'm pointing to with that. There's still more questions than definitive answers at this point.

Teblow nut riders
Denver wins:
Tebow is just a winner that wills his team to victory
Denver loses:
His defense cost him or his wrs dropped passes

denver lost the game in the 2nd quarter today. lance ball fumbled (NE should have challenged the incomplete in the endzone), tebow fumbled, and then cosby muffed a punt.
game went from 17-14 to 17-27 because the Broncos were bumbling for that entire period and couldn't do anything right. you cannot hand a good team that and put yourself in the hole for the game (especially when you are a running-based team).
it's like all the karma from the 4th quarters came back and balanced out in that 2nd quarter.

New England's weakness is their pass defense. Tebow has 6 completions for 84 yards. That's a big part of why they're losing, and a huge indicator that Tebow can only succeed when the defense and running game are lights out...like any other bad QB.
We'll just hear how his defense let him down.
Not 100% positive on this but didn't they run for something like 150 yards in the first half when you posted this? Is is ok to put up 250 total yards in the first half?
If it's not then go buy an 'Aints jersey. And hang onto the brown bag for when Brees retires. It's a staple in that town.
Just wanted to say the superior team won. Brady is awesome and is a Top 5 all time QB. Love watching him play the position and anyone who watched that game saw that he was fired up something fierce to play today.
Broncos played pretty well but were outmatched. Had they not turned the ball over 3 times in the second quarter it could have been different. But isn't that one of the big reasons that the Broncos have been successful?
Turnovers matter.
If anyone has a stat on Tom Brady Ws when his team wins the turnover battle I'd appreciate it.
Tebow played well. He can make Top 10 QB throws. He's got a gun. It takes a little longer for him to get it out but when he does he gets on top of it and fires it. Give him a few years with right coaching and .... he could be considered a top QB IMO.
The best comparison I would make to Tebow is Jim Furyk. Find a QB coach who can make his natural throwing motion accurate and you have yourself a 10 year starter.
Very entertaining game though.

I will say that the ceiling I had envisioned for Tebow was that of a solid backup. So far in his rookie year, he's played better than that. The future, though, is a different story, as I still think he's playing in what I keep calling a perfect storm for the Donks.

jc...
That magic just didn't happen for Tebow yesterday as he was unable to bring the Donks back, though he did have one of his best games completing 50% of his passes.
As I said earlier, the rest of the Broncos...their defense and special teams have been doing more than their part to help the Broncos win games since Tebow became the starter...many overlooked that fact and gave most of the credit to Tebow.
Tebow is a work in progress and may yet develop into a good QB but it will take a lot of work and patience from the front office and fans.

I get it.
In fairness, they have given up 41 today.
How many points have they been giving up when the Broncos win?
Isn't that the point? If your D gives up 41.., by all rights, shouldn't that be a loss for any team?

It's hard to say the D gave up 41 points when the Broncos turned it over about 4 times in 15 minutes... they were in this game and they self-destructed and it was a team effort.

j/c... Heard this on The Herd today. If Kansas City beats Oakland and Denver loses Buffalo this week. Final week of the season. Kyle Orton vs. Tim Tebow, playoffs on the line.

ok, that one tops the NFC East. that would be hilarious. i am fully rooting for all the crazy scenarios to play out:
orton v. tebow for division eagles to have a chance in wk17 AFC craziness for wild card #6 (7 teams currently have between 6 and 8 wins)
would love for the last NFC wildcard to be up for grabs too, but ATL or Detroit would have to lose the next 2 weeks for that to happen.

if they lose at least 1 game, then KC would still be fine (they'd get in via a 4-2 division record). Denver would be fine as well because they would get to 9 wins with a victory over KC.
doesn't even matter if SD loses to NFC Detroit or AFC divisional opponent Oakland.
SD can only get in if they win out and Denver loses to KC. Even then, it gets into the deep tiebreakers (believe it's common opponents).

just because it's a pillow fight, doesn't mean those divisions don't have rivalries.
it's fine just the way it is. divisions actually mean something in the NFL (unlike the NBA and until next year MLB)

Fans can still hate on any specific teams they like and draw whatever inane pleasure it is they derive from it. The playoffs should be a reward for a better season than other teams. It should not be a reward for a team lower on the totem pole just because they sucked the least in a crappy division.

Yes, I can see it all now, I was so wrong. You're right, having divisions is the only way to schedule one team to play another one. What was I thinking...

Fans won't hate on specific teams nearly as much if the games don't have extra meaning. Divisions give an actual reason to hate the opponents. They are your direct competition for a playoff spot.
Don't know why there is so much huff though. NFL only gives 12 spots for 32 teams. That's about right. And, if you win your division meekly, you are likely knocked out early (though do not tell NO that about SEA last year).

He is a terrible passer and decision maker, but a great athlete and nice enough guy. This makes him... a fullback? A wildcat QB?
Fact of the matter is Tebow is getting all the credit for Denver's wins and no blame for their losses. When really John Fox and the defense deserve most of it.

Thanks, this forum reminds me of the old forum that was on the official website (I'm going to go ahead and assume this was done on purpose). The new one sucks.
