Actually, I worry more about the listed measurements. If it turns out the guy is more like 6' tall, I'd consider that more of a problem then wonder if he can line up under center because if he can't, don't put him there.

That's just it, he can't line up under center.

Baylor rode Ganaway to a victory tonight, not RG3.

Ok...one game....they have been riding the other way all season.

I am not sure I understand your point.

Are you saying RG had a bad game??

If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

He shouldn't be considered a rookie because he has gone through a training camp the previous year. He has seen NFL game speed. He knows how to prepare for an NFL defense or should because of last year and he had some time to work with most of the players on offense during last season. He has gone against some of the better defenses in the league before this season as well unlike the rookies anyone would like to compare him to. Even though it's a new offense he still had 8 pro games under his belt. It doesn't matter how he got to play last year, he played.

Exactly.

Well said.

Fine, then compare him to Bradford, Tebow, Clausen and the rest of his draft class... just stop comparing him to Aaron Rodgers and Manning and Brees and anybody else in the prime of their career.

And I was not the one to bring up that comparison. My reply was just that .... a reply.

I contend that McCoy is more in line with a Tavaris Jackson, or a Rex Grossman.

That McCoy sure is something eh? Comes out of college firing bullseyes, not he's firing blanks! Unbelievable!

He needs to take a page out of Charlie Sheen's manual #winning

I don't think the Browns should completely give up on McCoy, but I don't think he is the long term future. The mistake a lot of teams make is that they draft for need instead of the best available player. Reaching in the draft for a QB usually ends up being a mistake. Take the QB when it is the best value on the board. All the draft experts wanted the Steelers to take a QB in the first round for years. Had they done that, the Steelers would have ended up with Chad Pennington instead of Big Ben. I really don't see a single position on the roster that I wouldn't consider with the Browns first draft pick...other than offensive tackle with their first round 1 pick. If a team goes into the draft saying that they need a QB or need a WR....that's how you end up with Ryan Leaf or Troy Williamson...guys where the production was okay in college and teams fall in love with the measurables.

An excerpt from Mary Kay Cabot on Sunday:

Quote:

6. Seneca Wallace, well-versed in the WCO, refused to mentor him [McCoy] because he wanted the starting job himself.

Odd... thought that's why we had Wallace here.

Not really - and her quote isn't entirely true... we had him here to be a well-versed backup, and a Plan B in case it was needed.

As for mentoring, he didn't say that he refused to - he said that he didn't offer it, but if Colt came to him with something, then he'd answer it. Yes, that was because he wanted the starting job, which he openly admitted to... but that is not the same thing as a refusal to help.

Browns is the Browns

... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.

I mean - i certainly don't know what actually happened in the locker room - none of us do, so I'm just going by the quote, which I thought was a little odd.

Yeah, we had a thread on this subject about a week ago. There was some disagreement about what should be expected of Wallace. I was in the camp that thought he was a selfish player who let the team down.

Thanks, I knew it was a bit old news - but not sure how I missed that.
