I've been out of HS since 2004 and just started College this passed Fall...

It's REALLY hard not to punch these 18 year old kids in the face some times...

But I know had I gone to college at 18/19, I'd be just like them...

I can imagine!

I guarantee you'll be at the top of your class though. You're there to learn and acquire knowledge. They're there to continue their personal development, continue laying the foundation of how to add knowledge, and to have a fun time.

I'd have killed it had I been 25 as a freshman. Although I probably would have gotten roughly 20% of the dates!

I am also a 25-year-old freshman in college. And I must say that if I wasn't in a relationship getting dates wouldn't be a problem. College girls are dumb.

Now back to the topic at hand, which was....I don't remember.

And they have until the 18th to resend that declaration as long as they haven't signed on with a agent.

Toledo wide receiver Eric Page entering NFL draft
Thursday January 12, 2012 - 7:52 PM

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - Toledo wide receiver Eric Page announced Thursday he's leaving school a year early to go into the NFL draft, passing up a chance to break the NCAA's record for receptions in a career.

Page is believed to be the first Toledo player to forego his senior season to enter the draft, school officials said. Nine former Rockets were on NFL rosters this season, including receivers Lance Moore in New Orleans and Arizona's Stephen Williams.

Page, who caught 306 passes during his career, would have needed just 44 catches next year to pass the NCAA mark set by Oklahoma's Ryan Broyles this year.

His decision is a bit of surprise. He had said he planned to return next season after catching 13 passes against Air Force in Toledo's 42-21 victory in the Military Bowl.

Page said he has been told that he likely won't be selected until the third round at the earliest.

He does hold several records at Toledo, including most catches in a season this year with 125.

Page also was a dangerous kick returner. He ran three kickoffs back for touchdowns in his sophomore year.

He was a finalist this season for the Paul Hornung Award, which goes to the nation's most versatile player.

I want, I want, I want.....maybe at the top of the 4th. Our high 3rd might be too high.

Dre Kirkpatricks draft stock just took a hit I think. Possession.

Nah, it just means that Cinci won't have to trade up for him.

One cut speed back. Not sure he's a fit here but I could see him flourishing in the right system. A team like the Texans.

Actually he would fit in very well here. A three down back that can catch. He can run between the tackles and has the quickness to get outside of the tackles. Not a bruiser, but I don't see where he doesn't fit in?

Grass and bad weather would lessen the speed factor
Can be arm tackled
Not overly elusive

A dome, zone blocking team where he could cut and go would be where he'd flourish.

I think a 3 down power back is the way to go in the NFL North as currently constructed. Hillis, SJax, Lynch fit the bill. Guys that can run through arm tackles between the tackles.

Heck...Benson, Mendenhall and Rice pretty much fit that bill to a T

The whole "power back up north" thing is garbage imo. Matt Forte is not a power back. Ryan Grant is not a power back. Mendenhall and Ray Rice are not power backs. All of them are very quick and shifty.

Ryan Grant. Hell of a RB. Great example.

When a guy doesn't break tackles in his highlight video!!! maybe he doesn't break tackles all that often.

Whether you like it or not we're going to be dealing with fast, badass 3-4 defenses with LBers that can fly for the forseeable future. If you want a quick guy that doesn't have a lot of shake playing on grass that can't bust through tackles with the playoffs on the line in December at home....then I can't help you.

Mendenhall is certainly a power back. Ray Rice is a lot of things. I'd say power is a prime component of his game. He's a compact power guy like MJD.

1. Ryan Grant was on his way to becoming a stud before his injury.

2. Yeah because highlight videos show the whole story

3. Yeah I just love big, slow, power backs. Good ol' cleveland hard nosed football. That has won us many gam.... Oh wait.

4. Mendenhall is not a powerback. Just because Ray Rice is built like MJD, doesn't mean he plays like him. Although his calves are not as massive as MJDs.

Lamar Miller reminds me alot of LeSean McCoy (or Matt Forte). No, he's not the strongest RB, but he is very good at reading the blocks, finding a seam and accelerating through it.

I think he is a perfect fit for the WCO. I would love to have him. It'll take #22 though IMO as I think a team in the 20s will certainly nab him (I would imagine the Steelers have an eye on him w/ Mendenhall's injury + their recent splurge on speed for their offense)

It took a hit....but I don't think he will drop all that much. He's a kid and got caught with a little pot AFTER the season. He'll be taking pee tests throughout the combine and the rest of his pro career....he'll probably be clean throughout (unless he's the next Ricky Williams - pot was too important).

I'd still take him. Warren Sapp had the same issues/questions when he was coming out of college....worked out. I think a few meetings with the kid can really show how he thinks of the situation. Some guys use this as fuel to be a better pro/man.....some don't care.

Does this have any impact on him as a pro, as far as future penalties?

Does this count as "strike one", or anything?

Also, what ever happened to the Bengals players who were caught with tons of weed in their possession, and distribution equipment in their home?

I don't think so.

He may have more attention paid in regards to 'random' testing. I'm not sure, though.

I don't understand how they could have that much stuff in their house and not be charged. It seems impossible that the defense could be "My girl hid it from me, and I had no idea that all those scales and huge packages of pot meant that she was distributing the stuff from my house. I'm innocent I tell you!".

High-priced lawyers can do a lot of things.

As far as what was delivered, his girlfriend signed for it, and it was addressed to a false name. I imagine that's easy enough to explain away.

As for the rest, giving up a name or two will go a long way in keeping your name off of a court docket.

From what I've read the investigation is still ongoing, which to me sounds like Simpson probably gave up some information. Police and prosecutors will often let little fish go in order to leapfrog to a bigger one.

The name of the game is asset seizures, and with Simpson's NFL income, it would be hard to pin his assets on drug sales.

Perhaps, but I thought that there was a felony level quantity at the house, along with all of the distribution equipment.

That seems like a fairly large fish to start with.

and honestly, between Hurd and Simpson, it's surprising that more attention hasn't been paid to the NFL's current drug problem. not only using, but dealing?

Again, they're after what they can seize in assets forfeitures. They don't really care all that much about the marijuana for the most part (especially if there's no violence attached).

If they were to pop Simpson and charge him, they'd have a tough time proving that his house, car, bank account contents, etc. didn't come from his NFL salary. They'd likely only get the fines incurred, which is about $30,000 or so, max. It's a felony, yes, but at that point, the investigation is probably over. Nailing Simpson's pelt to the wall negates any leverage to go further up the chain.

Once you get into higher-level distributors, there's a lot more money for the government to pocket.

Like I said ... it sounds like Simpson probably talked. As a result, he'll probably walk.

Well Simpson was charged with one count today, could face one to five years in prison if convicted.
