speaking of games last night. i think it's funny that Mo Williams is greatly outplaying Chauncey for the Clippers.
Yeah I'm glad for Mo. They brought in Paul and Billups but he didn't complain, he just elevated his game.

I always liked Mo, his play was inconsistent at time but he always gave everything he had. He loved Cleveland and he loved his team, one of the few guys to really show how much LeBron leaving hurt him personally
The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.

well, he's finally playing the exact role he was built for as a 6th man. he doesn't always handle the ball, but he's in the thick of things, gambling for TOs on defense and just looking for his shot.

Why would he be gambling for turnovers on offense?

whoops. though if you watched the 2nd quarter of the game last night, both teams seemed to be doing just that.

Can someone keep a running stat of what percentage of Jamesons shots hit the front of the rim?
It's pathetic...

I wonder if there is a reason for this rotation..It's sad and Jameson just missed a easy basket under neath.

i never like scott as a coach, and i absolutely hate him as our coach...he don't teach squat, it seems we are regressing every games, esp irving who's become a turnover machine...we can't shoot FT, we can't defend pick and roll, we can't space the floor..he puts people like jamison out there waaay too long, stays with bench too long, have people like hollins playing at all, while samuels sits on the bench..this team is just frustrating to watch. Because we have some talent, scott is just clueless how to use it properly

You can say that about any Cleveland team. It's quite sad if you think about it. Larry Dolan is a guy that I think needs to go because he is the reason for the pathetic roster.

I wonder if he gets tired on defense and becomes lazy because he has to carry the offense.

He shouldn't be getting tired at all. He plays 28 minutes a game and he's 19 years old.

There is a reason why rookies don't play a lot of minutes, regardless of age. 28 minutes of NBA basketball is a hell of a lot different than 28 minutes of college basketball.

Yeah. It's because most of them aren't very good.
28 minutes is barely over half of a game, however you want to slice it. He's 19, not 29.

Conditioning is a problem this season for Kyrie. I felt this way before the season. His body fat was like 15% which is not that good for an NBA PG. I feel he will be fine by next year.
If you don't think players are still not conditioned look at Dirk.

Obviously conditioning is a problem. Why else would he be getting fatigued when he's only on the court half the game? Just because its the reason doesn't mean that its ok.
All the elite players who started from day one as rookies played 35+ minutes a game. LeBron, Wade, DRose, Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, etc etc. They all did it. If Kyrie wants to be in the elite class of players he's going to have to get in way better shape and learn how to play defense.

I will point out he only played in what 11 games last year?
And had no Training/Conditioning Camp this year...
Just saying..

These game show that we desperately need to add a quality SF and SF to the equation.
We have some pretty good depth, players who can hold their own when the other team goes to their bench ...... but we have too many holes in the starting lineup for that to matter all the time.
As far as Irving ..... let's not forget that he missed almost all of last year (almost his entire college career) with injury, then missed all of camp because of the strike/lockout. He'll get better. This was only the 18th game we've played.

I love how he tried to take over and lead the team by scoring in crunch time. Just gotta bring it on the other end too young fella.

However, sometimes a player, especially a young rookie, will run into that guy who is just "on" for the game. It's not like Deron Williams is some scrub. He was missing his Center, so he took some of the scoring on himself. He averages almost 19 points/game, so it's not like he was some stiff who went off on Irving.
Irving does have a long way to go to become a great player, especially on defense. I think that he has the drive and determination to become a premiere defender as well. That will take time and work.

I had floor seats for the game last night. Words cannot describe the extra gear Kyrie has when he wants to switch it on. Incredible.
Sky is the limit for this kid. He can be the franchise. The one thing I notice about Kyrie his rookie year that LeBron was notorious for is that Kyrie WANTS the ball already. If anything, LeBron was too passive his rookie year and would stand around. Kyrie already wants the ball and wants the moment.
This team still needs another big time draft pick and star player, but my goodness I like where this team is headed. I can see the progress (unlike the Browns, where I simply can't).

That's why I hope that they are able to use the assets they have sitting on the board to move into the 1st round of this coming draft for a 2nd pick. Right now they look almost like the Patriots as far as hoarding draft picks. They simply will not be able to use them all. There are only so many spots on a team. I would love to come out of this draft with a SF and a SG. Man would that be an incredible help for this team.

Appreciate it....saves us both a bunch of time.
Look, I hope you're not construing what I'm saying as bashing Irving. On the contrary, I'm incredibly pleased with how he's looked thus far. Much better than advertised, if you ask me.
I simply have two concerns right now, and those are his conditioning and his defense. I think that they're valid concerns. I have no doubt, given his character, that he'll improve them as time goes on. If he wants to make it to the elite class of players, he will have to.
I also don't think that asking a 19 year old first overall draft pick to play 32+ minutes as a rookie is unreasonable, regardless of circumstances, and I'll be surprised (and slightly worried) if he isn't playing in the 32-35 mpg range by the end of the season.
But like I said, I'm very happy with his play thus far. I'd like to see him develop into the NBA player that it appears he can be.
