No. Never. Not going to happen.
I'd rather sign Mike Phipps. And he's currently 65.

I actually think that Tebow would make a really solid TE ....... plus you could run trick plays off of a TE screen.
I honestly think this, WR, or 2nd or 3rd string QB, might be all he is ever given the chance to do for the rest of his career. Can't think of one other team that would start him at QB in September . . .

I already thought of my exit strategy in case that happened too.

I will likely attempt to burn down Cleveland Browns Stadium if we bring in Tebow.

I will cheer for Tebow if the Browns bring him in.
I'd prefer they didn't, though.

JAX would definitely start him. Sellout home games and Gabbert was terrible. Miami might start him. Back to the wildcat (but with actual passing involved).
A few others might, but those would be the top2 for sure.

j/c Finally, with Peyton Manning getting ready to sign with Denver, the Browns will not be in play for Tim Tebow. At a recent press conference, Holmgren answered one of my questions about the offense by saying how he didn't think it was wise for a team to drastically change its offense -- as Denver did for Tebow. I didn't bring up Tebow, Holmgren did. So don't even start with that speculation. link

I think Tim will eventually be cut, because I don't think any FO will offer any type of value for him for 2 reasons......
1. The circus that Toad mentioned. If your getting a developmental QB/TE/FB whatever, sure maybe for a late round pick. However, as they just discussed on ESPN noway does any FO want the type of circus that surrounds Tim surrounding their team. Furthermore, no way teams are going to want to change their offensive system to fit Tebow. I mean the Donks had to run a college system last year for him....no way he gets that any where else.
2. He's going to get cut anyway. Elway and Co. don't want him there, and if NFL Network is correct it was a pre cursor to get Manning to consider coming there. He's gone anyway so why give up resources when you can wait for the cut date and get him on a much cheaper contract??
I like Tim as a person (not so much as a QB), and really hate this happened to him. He really did provide a spark for that team last year, and I would have loved to see him to get a shot again this year.........but the NFL isn't fair, and you don't turn down Peyton. Sadly for Tim, no other team has a vested interest in designing their O arround him like the Donks did last year. Therefore, I don't think he'll ever be in as good a situation for him as the one he's leaving. The only way he gets a starting gig is an owner looking to sell tickets forces the hands of the football people (aka Jacksonville). I can see the Chiefs taking a flier on him after he clears waivers, but I think that is doubtful as well.

Why would we bring in a guy who in no way, shape, or form fits the offense Shurmur (and the rest of the front office) want to run?
Tebow is not a quick 1-2-3 read QB. he is a downfield passer, ad a quick passer off of a single read. There is no way in hell he fits our offense. Griffin had more complicated reads in college than Tebow has had in his pro career.

Three weeks ago, it was almost a dead certain fact that NOBODY would ever give up 3 first round picks for a chance to draft RG3 In fact, Bets were made that it wouldn't take that much to get him...
3 first rounders and a second rounder later,, Washington owns the pick
No way would I ever say never....LOL there is always one guy somewhere that thinks he can make something work that didn't work before.. Right now, that guy might reside in New England as thier OC,....
Stranger things have happened....

True, he doesn't fit. Just think he is a better QB, then what we have now.
-We also know the FO is looking for answer at QB, since they were going to trade up. So they are not sold on Colt as next years starter. I like McCoy, but not sure he will become a top 10 QB, which any team needs to get to the SB.

Yeah,, I agree with you Fl,, this was a tacky way to handle things.. maybe Tebow isn't what they want,,but to kick him to the curb in favor of a 36 year old with a potential injury issue,,, seems crazy.
But,, then again, they have a D that is pretty decent. they are talking about adding Dallas Clark and Jeff saturday to the O,,, maybe this is thier attempt to make a push for a SB now and saying to hell with the future..

Exactly. Again, Tebow is a great kid and I really admire his ability to get creamed in the media, but sticking by his beliefs/faith. However, he completed below 50 percent of his passes and they had to dumb down the offense to a 1 read or run type of O......basically college (basic college) stuff. Merle Hodge was on NFL Live explaining how troubled he was by watching the tape and seeing how Tim struggled reading the simplest of reads.
As much as I have huge ???s about McCoy no way would I take Tim over him. McCoy has a chance (albeit a small one) to develop whereas Tim just has to many deficiencies to overcome to be a QB.
I would love to bring in Tebow and develop him as an H back, but the problem is the goofs will never shut up and every time the starter struggles you'll get what you got in Denver from their goofs in the fan base.

I was thinking about where Tebow could end up and it seems the only place would be to a team that has the starting QB spot locked down, doesn't have a backup that they have invested much in and a system where he could fill in as a number two and or fill a different role. The one team I thought of was Pittsburgh.
Roethlisburger seems to have a pretty firm hold on the starting position and I wouldn't think there would be a big fan push to start Tebow.
The Steelers backups are listed as Jerrod Johnson and Troy Smith.
My question is could he back up Big Ben and/or fit in a different ype of role in their offense.

And like the Eagles "Dream team" last season ... I wish them the same misfortune.
I fully understand that it is a business, but that doesn't mean that it has to be so cut throat and heartless.
What's wrong with them saying ... Look Tim we are going to bring in PM and make a push for the SB and in the mean time you have the opportunity to learn from one of the best.
Tebow was the feel good story of this League last season and they all profited from it. For once a real life good guy too.

I applaud what the Broncos have done. Those cats out there know the score. The Nfl isn't about pleasing fans,it's about winning championships. The Broncos have just raised their odds of winning one.

I really don't understand all of this talk about the move being 'classless'.
I mean, if we lived in bizarro world, and Manning wanted to sign here, would it be 'classless' to jettison McCoy?
The two of them can't really co-exist in Denver, and one of them happens to be the greatest QB of all-time. The other is a project.
I don't really see how it's 'classless' to roll the dice with the Hall of Famer and let the project move on with his career elsewhere.
What are they supposed to do? Let Tebow ride the bench for a year, so as not to appear classless?

What a classless thing to suggest. Letting him rot on the bench when he should be allowed to find another opportunity elsewhere.

I think they should trade Tebow to the Rockies, they'd get a center fielder and the Donks could probably squeeze them for season tickets, maybe even box seats if they pressed them.

Does a team's front office have a responsibility to improve the team in whatever way they can?
I believe they do, and in fact, they are negligent if they don't.
Is Manning, if healthy a far better QB that Tebow?
There is absolutely no question. Manning is to Tebow as a Lamborghini is to a matchbox car.
Whether the other players on that team like, love, or hate Tebow, how many do you think believe that they are a much better team with Manning at the helm, and that they stand a much better chance of not only making the playoffs, but getting to the Super Bowl with Manning at the helm?
I bet it's almost unanimous that they are happy manning is there.
Does a team have some responsibility to stay with a player they don't feel can be effective long term when a better option becomes available?
I would be madder than hell if the Browns passed on a great player to stay with a so-so player. How would you feel if they did so?
I would suspect that the Donks will draft a guy to groom for when Manning's time is done. Right now I guarantee that there are excited fans all around town, and excited players who can't wait to get to training camp.

Merril Hoge took a ton of heat for bagging on Tebow during the height of TebowMania, and now he's taking his revenge Quote:
PFT:
Merril Hoge kicks Tim Tebow while he’s down: “He has no clue” Posted by Michael David Smith on March 19, 2012, 6:03 PM EDT Divisional Playoffs - Denver Broncos v New England Patriots Getty Images
Merril Hoge, the former NFL fullback who has become an analyst on ESPN’s Matchup show, has long been a harsh critic of Tim Tebow. And on the day that Peyton Manning’s arrival put Tebow on the trading block in Denver, Hoge didn’t hold back in kicking Tebow while he’s down.
ESPN’s PR department distributed a string of quotes from the Worldwide Leader’s army of NFL commentators on Monday, and for the most part the quotes were bland statements about Manning taking command of the Denver offense and making everyone around him better. But the last quote came from Hoge, and it was an evisceration of Tebow.
Plenty of analysts have questioned Tebow’s arm, but Hoge questions Tebow’s mind. According to Hoge, Tebow is clueless when it comes to understanding how to run an NFL offense, and lacks the brainpower to read an NFL defense.
“The more I studied him in an NFL setting, the more disturbed I was that he has no clue what he’s looking at,” Hoge said of Tebow. “His IQ as a football player is not very good. That is why they have to come down and make it some of a college-form system that he’s comfortable with in Florida. He can’t execute, from a cerebral aspect, a pro-style system.”
In other words, Hoge thinks that if the projections of the Broncos only getting a fifth-round pick for Tebow turn out to be true, the Broncos would be getting a steal
I think "hodgie" is an ass, and this kinda proves it, but when you take as much crap from the Tebow apologists as he did, well, people like him are going to counter-attack with everything they have, especially when the guy is being replaced.

I agree Willie....why trade for him when they will have to get rid of him.. There isn't enough room on the roster for both.
After that, he will get plenty of offers.

Ya know...this could be the first time in the history of the game where I could make a case that the Donks could actually send a draft pick to a team so that team would take him. Why? Because the very LAST thing the Donks wanna do is to have a team within the division sign him.
I wonder what the league would do if the Donks traded Tebow to a team like the Pats in exchange for a swap of 7th round draft picks in 2013...

The point of the offseason in football is to get better. The Broncos did what they felt would help them. Seriously, if this were any other QB being replaced by Manning you people would not be in this big of an uproar.
