Why is it the hamster in my head is running over the possibility of having Glenn man the RT spot? I've been adamant to not address RT in round one but that guy is just the type of monster Heckert likes in the trenches. He has a set of the biggest hands at the draft, one of the longest reaches, and is shockingly athletic for a 340 lbs. SOB. How's he looked in drills and on film? Initially I had him pegged as a guard because of his weight alone (haven't really seen him play) but his frame and athleticism has me thinking he CAN play on the outside.

He is the ideal OT for Heckert, 36 inch arms, 345lbs and quick feet. I dont think he is quick enough for LT but RT would be a probowler. He is one of the reason's i think the Browns will be more willing to trade down. Trade down to 14 or 15 with Cowboys or Eagles and Richardson, Glenn or Tannehill will be there. Maybe all three.
It's been in the news a lot - I don't see the footwork for an RT personally --- but I have to agree he does fit the Heckert "mold"

Recorded today's combine session and just now getting to watch it. Got to see a few minutes earlier but now watching it all. I have been very impressed with Swartz in the football drills but man don't ask that boy to run lmao. Swartz is a pure throwback type of football player. We need him.
If this was a competition, Cordy Glenn won. Looked outstanding in the football drills.
All of these kids looked decent and it looks like a much better OL class than given credit for. Martin must have backed out of the drills again because I sure havent seen him. Zebrie Sanders 4th rounder at best.
I am not as up on it as you Mour , but if it came down to a coin flip, I'd always take the SEC player.....and I think most GM's would agree. Why wouldn't you???

I tell yea, Glenn may have shot himself into the top 10. His stock was on the rise following the senior bowl but those 35 7/8 inch arms at 345 pounds and really agility wowed me and I was already wowed from the senior bowl. I dont see him making it past the Cards at the latest and I wouldnt be surprised if he goes to the Rams after their trade down.
Swartz is a pure RT, 3rd round probably the earliest he will go maybe we get nervous and jump into the late 2nd.
I am a big SEC guy because top to bottom you get great competition every week at most positions. Love trench warfare and right now that is where its at.
How is Kelechi Osmele looking? I was really impressed watching him at LT at Iowa State in two games that I caught. Thought he'd be a prime target for us for a RT.
btw...fun fact...Walter Jones, OT Seahags ran a 4.6 at his pro day back in 1997.
Osemele looks like a 3-5 round project. Just seems raw at everything he does. Potential is there but he is a project.
It was a privilege to watch Walter Jones. I can put him on the list with guys like Lawrence Taylor, Barry Sanders, Reggie White, Deon Sanders guys that broke the mold.

yt...no way to know if an individual is nursing an injury but Adams play at the Senior Bowl proved he can play.
If anything, it shows Adams can get a whole lot better, which is kind of scary...just wait till the kid matures.
I guess some believe football is played on a weight bench or that a football field is only 40yds long.

Iowa OT Zusevics tears pec doing bench press
Iowa offensive tackle Markus Zusevics tore his left pectoral muscle while performing in the bench press drills in front of NFL scouts Friday at the 2012 Scouting Combine.
The injury will require surgery, according to NFL.com's Steve Wyche, and unfortunately ends his Combine prematurely. Even worse, it may put into question his ability to play as a rookie.
While Seattle Seahawks' quarterback Tarvaris Jackson was able to throw passes this past season with a torn pectoral, his injury did not require surgery, according to Seahawks' head coach Pete Carroll. On the flip-side, Houston Texans' pass rusher Mario Williams' torn pectoral last season did require surgery and knocked him out for the remainder of the 2011 season. He suffered the injury in the Texans' Week Five loss to the Oakland Raiders, October 9.
Zusevics (pronounced ZOOZ-uh-vicks) had been rated as NFLDraftScout.com's No. 15 offensive tackle for the 2012 draft and a possible 5th round prospect. The injury, however, very much clouds his status.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Courtney Upshaw was one of college football's best pass-rushing linebackers in leading Alabama to the BCS national title in January. Entering the NFL Combine this week, Upshaw was ranked as the second-best outside linebacker and the No. 17 prospect overall by NFLDraftScout.com.
Here are some quick hits from his group interview at Lucas Oil Stadium.
On exact height/weight: "I'm 6-1, 272."
On his weight: "I wanted to step on the scale at 270. I'd been playing all year around 270, and I felt good. I've got a while before I weigh in again; I'll be down to my ideal weight. Nobody's told me anything about my weight, where they think I should be. I just wish I would have tipped the scale at 270."
On the combine: "This whole process has been great. Everybody told me about the evaluation part, that it would be crazy. And it's been crazy."
On what 'crazy' means: "I mean it's been fun. I should say it like that. Players who have been in this environment told me all the good things about it, and it's been what they said."
On comfort level in the 4-3, as Alabama ran a 3-4: "I'm very comfortable. We had a nickel package where I played in a 4-3 as the end, away from the tight end, in a five-technique, hand in the ground. I did a little bit of it at the Senior Bowl, too. I'll play anywhere."
On how playing for Nick Saban prepared him: "Coach Saban tried to teach us to be great, to prepare to be great in the league. He got everybody ready. He's a phenomenal coach, and I was glad to be a player for him."
On playing OLB or DE at the next level: "Nobody [from NFL teams] has told me, exactly, 'We want you to play end or we want you to play outside linebacker.' Teams have asked me, 'Where do you feel comfortable?' I feel I can play both positions."
On his strongest asset: "Being physical and being tough."
On origins of the physicality and toughness: "It's a mind thing with me. Growing up playing football, I always wanted to be physical. Throwing my shoulder into something was the fun part for me."
Those are some good times! Looks like RG3 is having a good combine......
Unfortunately, I'd really like to see how he does in the throwing drills. From the things I could learn from this stuff, his height/weight and his throwing.
I like the 40 time, especially with the weight he posted, but I'm happier to see 6'2 1/2 inches and 220 lbs or whatever (yet he still can run like that)
I believe...As a current T&F coach (and athlete in college), you don't long jump almost 26' or whatever he did in his school without having some wheels!!!!
I read somewhere before that he was supposed to go 4.35....but never would have guessed 4.30!!!
If the Colts didn't take Luck, I can't imagine how ridiculous the bidding war would be for that no. 2 spot. But, then again, it might be just as ridiculous if RGIII is sitting there.
I've gotta think that a trade to no. 2 has to include a 2nd round pick now, too.

My first thought as well - didn't think he'd be there anyway - I have him rated higher than Blackmon and would never have been surprised if he came of the board first.
For the most part, these times are shockingly low (and remember they are all inaccurate to a ridiculous 0.3 seconds or so) --- Jones at 4.46 and Quick at 4.48 I would never have imagined in a million years). Wright's 40 looks as pedestrian as I expected among this bunch - still not sure why anybody has him as a top 15 pick.
Anybody know why T Y Hilton didn't run? I was really looking forward to that one, as he's by far my favorite mid-round WR.

Honestly, I don't think there is anyway that our two 1st rounders alone would get it done. My expectations are that to get to the number 2 spot, it's going to take our first 4 picks of this draft and maybe even more.. And I don't think it matters who is there at two.. either Luck or RG3..
Both of them are pretty impressive kids.

I agree. I just hate the idea of giving up so many picks for one player, even if it is RGIII or Luck (though I certainly understand the argument that getting a franchise QB is worth it).
I just think there's going to be a team that's going to offer so many picks plus picks from next year for that one player. Then, our 2 first rounders this year drop in value unless we throw in picks next year, too. I don't want to do that.
I'm pretty sure we value our picks more highly than the Redskins, so hopefully if it's a bidding war for them... we lose.

I may be in the vast minority here, but I'm not a big fan of Floyd. I view him as kinda clunky and kinda stiff. He really doesn't even look like a #1 to me, and because of that, I don't view him as a 1st rounder. Just too many question marks.
