[color:"white"]Guards can help hide a center and vice versa, but left tackles play on an island. Getting better guards won't make Shaffer hardly any better.
***Gordon, I really didn't think you could be this stOOpid, but you exceeded my expectations. Wussy. Manziel, see Josh Gordon. Dumbass.***

They don't always play on an island, OT. Also, if a LT isn't concerned about the rush to his inside, it makes protecting the outside alot easier. It's a little bit more complicated than just a one on one matchup. A good LG can allow a LT to concentrate on the outside and not be concerned about the LG getting beat to the LT's inside and having to cover for him.. The first rule of any lineman is to force the rush outside, thus creating a pocket <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

[color:"white"]Oh Hell B, I know that *L* My point is that "Necktie" Shaffer has been bullied on straight rushes and beaten to the outside by rather average players like Smith.
QB's can't be judged when they have no time, but can be when they do.
LT's can't be judged on certain plays but can be when they are dealing with 1-1 matchups. So far through his first year, Shaffer isn't playing up to his contract. The game against Smith was his worst of the year, but unfortunately, not the only one of it's kind.
