There is enough smoke to make most believe we in fact offered what is being said. In something like this you don't have hard evidence. You'll never get that unless Heckert comes out and says so, but he won't because he is to busy cleaning the egg from his face.

At any rate, we bodgered it up. Time to move on and by the time it's done focus on plan D.

Oh I agree, there is a ton of smoke,, but you wouldn't accept it as fact in court, why would you accept it here?

It's all a matter of perspective I guess. I was fine with drafting him at 4. I would have been fine giving up our 4 and maybe our 2nd rounder this year to move up to get him (I would need to be talked off the ledge, but I'd eventually come down)
I was not fine with 3 firsts and a 2nd rounder for that move.
So, from my perspective, I'm ok with them not getting that pick.
I don't know if RG will be as great as some think he will be.. he looks and sounds right that's for sure. But no guarantees.. if you take that bet and he flops,, you set your team back for the next 3 years maybe more.. I wouldn't have taken that gamble..
So it's all about ones perspective.
For me, Heckert did the right thing by not going all in...
