Minnesotas thoughts: Mo Claiborne got huge consideration. Our DB is a mess and the stud of the draft would sure help. Decent DBs later on in the draft.

We need a good wideout. Blackmon has some talent but just does not have it all to make him my pick. Had he been AJ Green it would have been a challenge to talk myself out of him. I'll hope a strong candidate is there next round.

Ultimately, the only choice is the one that experts have always said it'd be. Ponder showed promise and needs protected on the blind side. Doesnt matter who he throws to if he's running for his life! Kalil was the Joe Thomas of the draft and a pick that pays off for 10 years or so!

Not shocking but thought it'd be fun to share my considerations!

CLEVELAND is on the clock!

With the 4th Pick The Cleveland Browns take RB Trent Richardson Alabama

I was originally going to take Blackmon...however thinking this over I know that Randle,Wright and Jeffery will be there ( I HOPE) at #22 there will not be a RB there.

My bad regarding the " "

In a thread that members are to use their football IQ to fill out a draft, it was funny to see Luck and RG3 listed - I thought you guys were joking because these two picks are obvious. Nevermind. I'll disappear now.

In real life I would have asked for more but future picks really are meaningless in this game and If I remember right last year we didn't make very far through the fourth round and there are no guarantees we make it even that far this year.So the only way I would have gotten true value is for New England or Cinncinati to offer their two firsts this year and they didn't call.

Last night it was really looking like our pick was going to raise some eyebrows with another player still on the board. The decision was made and we reconsidered to confirm the pick.
When selecting in the top half of the 1st round, you're hoping to find a player with conference accolades. A player at the top of his position. We really got the top player in the draft, and the only consideration beyond this pick was for a chance at a prolific pass rusher in Ingram. With the 32nd ranked offense in 2011, we felt we really were better suited with the team to take the Best player in the draft even if we aren't going to excite all of the fans by avoiding the defensive side of the ball.

Where our player ranked amoung division 1 (ya) athletes at his position, with 28 touchdowns tied for 2nd, 84.6 yards per game, 3rd.
But it was the 13 100 yard games, and the fact he scored 2 touchdowns 7 times.
So of course you know the
Jacksonville Jaguars select with the 7th pick in the 1st round, Michael Floyd, Wide reciever, Notre Dame.

In light of his recent comments, we only wish we could have said.
We make this pick in spite of Justin Blackmon still being on the board because " We don't want Mr Blackmon to come to Jacksonville, because He sucks."

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

Tough choice for me between the more athletic Fletcher and the more imposing Brockers. Both guys have a good motor and have been praised as leaders by their coaching staff.

And with the 9th pick in the 2012 NFL draft, the Carolina Panthers select....

Michael Brockers, DT, LSU

Kansas city trades the #11 pick for #27, #62, and New England's 4th rounder. And any of TopDawg's children.
If Kirkpatrick was still on the board we would have stayed. With Manning Rivers and Plamer twice a year CB is a big concern, but we feel the difference between the 3rd best and the 6th best CB is not all that large and so opted for more picks. Poe was also an option but we aren't Oakland and we don't base everything on the combine.

Haha seriously we've had more people trying to finagle the savviest swap on the clock than picks it would seem. Chicago would like to announce that it's ticked it's not their pick yet (in spite of the draft starting earlier than scheduled).

Politicians are puppets, y'all. Let's get Geppetto!

Yeah we were going to use 3 hour windows but clock stops at 9 pm. I was going to try to enforce it starting Monday... I know who topdawg wanted since he tried the same trade with me the pick before, but clwb didn't log on last night to make his pick anyways so I didn't want to steal top's thunder.

In a very rare move for New England, they trade up to #11 and select Quintin Coples, DE, North Carolina.

the trade was at 7:30, I was on and off until about 10 eastern, but didn't see a pick...didn't think I could. Didn't end up mattering much, I had 4 players I was thinking about - pinged some folks on trades, but no takers...it made it a tough decision.
