If there's any way, I hope they are pursuing it.
I don't expect them to be able to make a deal ...... but could you imagine the looks on the Redskins' front office types if we traded to 1 and took RG3?
You'd take RG over Luck? And I seriously doubt the Skins would be crying much.. if we moved to 1 to take RG, they'd snag Luck and be just as happy,,, maybe happier..
If the Colts had retained Manning, I'd say it's possible.. not probable, but possible.

I think that Luck will be a great QB ..... and he is absolutely the safest QB pick, maybe in history. He can do everything, and can run any offense. He can make every throw. He has everything you could want in a QB. I think that he'll be a great QB.
RG3 still might wind up being even better. (and I have said that all along as well) I just love the way he is so effortless on everything he does, even on the deep passes. he doesn't have to wind up, and prepare himself, he just let's that damn ball fly, and it's right on target almost every time. Not even just a matter of in the neighborhood, but many times that pass just drops right into his receiver's hands, and no DB in the world is going to do a damn thing about it at that point. It's such a thing of beauty to me.
Add in all of his other attributes, and I think, as I have said before, (too many times, if you some people) that he could very well wind up being the best of a pair of great QBs in this draft.
We'll see how they do over their respective careers.I suspect that both will make at least 1 Super Bowl.

That's kinda what I've been saying about RG3 all along ...... He might well wind up being the biggest superstar in this draft. Man I wish we could have got him.

Yer only saying that because Barkley stayed in school.. </sarcasm>

If the Colt's were to go with RG3, that would mean we lost Andrew Luck over a 1st or 2nd rounder... How happy would this make fans?

Homey messed up by speaking out. RG3 goes on to be star it will be well they should have offered more. RG3 sucks, it will be these idiots offered up more than 3 firsts for this turd.
I don't think that NOT outbidding Dan Snyder should be held against anyone. That nutcase would have kept upping the ante. You've got one of the highest prices ever paid for a draft pick ever.....and it's for the SECOND rated qb in single draft. I can't believe anyone wanted us to offer more.

And didn't the FO say we offered more than Washington, but still lost the bid due to friendship? Its not like they didn't try.

The Colts aren't even bringing in RGIII for a private workout. Link As we have known for awhile, Luck is going to be the first pick.

yeah, any "debate" about Luck vs. RGIII is just the media trying to manufacture a story. much like Peyton vs. Leaf back in '98.

Well they're still at it . . . The Tannehill at 3 or 4 talk seems pretty normal when the media's still trying to stir this pot . . . Buzz builds that Colts could take RG3Lame

Maybe the colts are trying to get the redskins to give them their 2015 and 2016 1st round draft picks.

One can only hope that Indy wants in on the fun..They could easily fleece Snyder and the Skins for extra picks to move up to 1 and still get their guy at 2.

I thought he was supposed to be really smart - he'd rather play for the Skins than the Colts? Guess he doesn't have the confidence to follow Peyton.

Some analysts are saying he'd rather be in DC because his 2nd contract will be much bigger in DC as compared to Indy. Mainly because Snyder is starving for a winner.
Made sense to me.

That makes sense I suppose. Not like he'd be poor if he played for Indy and they have always treated Peyton pretty well. As a player I'd rather play for Irsay's team than Snyder's dysfunctional circus. From a pure financial perspective I suppose that would make sense though - Snyder certainly is willing to overpay!

Robert Griffin III - QB - Player The Redskins will not request a private workout for Baylor QB Robert Griffin III, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The 'Skins saw all they needed to see at Baylor's Pro Day, when coach Mike Shanahan could hardly contain his glee. Effectively locked in as the No. 2 pick, Griffin will refuse all private workouts, reports Profootballtalk. If I were him I wouldn't conduct any more private workouts either. He can't help his draft stock, only hurt it. He would run a risk of injuring himself.
So what's the point of conducting more workouts? To please some talking heads or shot-callers that may want to use him as a draft pawn?
I wouldn't workout for anyone either.

Just a guess...Shanahan likely told Griffin that they did not want him working out for anyone...
Think about, if you had a new car you were all set to buy, would you want someone else taking it for a test drive?

I don't blame him for not working out. I posted that because it seemed as if he wouldn't work out for the Colts but implied that he would for other teams.

So Lerner, who hardly ever gets involved in this stuff, suddenly does this, and then Holmgren has to make up an excuse?
Possible? Yeah, I guess. But I don't believe it one iota.
I am unfamiliar with this feeling of optimism

Maybe some people aren't quite as enamoured with RGIII... Scout: Robert Griffin III has a 'selfish streak' Comments By Robert Klemko, USA TODAY Updated 1h 5m ago Andrew Luck has long been the presumed No. 1 pick of the 2012 NFL draft. Robert Griffin III's ascension to the No. 2 spot on most analysts' draft boards is a more recent development. Griffin has been favorably compared to Luck by several analysts. Yet at least two NFL scouts interviewed by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel aren't sold on RG3. "He's got a little bit of a selfish streak," a scout told the Journal Sentinel's Bob McGinn. "Everybody was laying on Cam (Newton), but for some reason this guy has become gloves off. He doesn't treat anybody good." Newton received some pre-draft heat for perceived character flaws last year, and went on to win Offensive Rookie of the Year honors as Carolina's top pick. The same scout questioned skill comparisons of Griffin and Newton. "As much as is written about his athleticism, his athleticism under duress in the pocket isn't even close to Cam Newton's," the scout said. "This guy, the only way he gets big plays with his feet is if he's got a wide-open field and the sea opens for him." Another scout interviewed by the newspaper questioned the hype around Griffin, referring to "a lot of bad tape." "Everybody is just assuming because of the Heisman and the socks and all that BS... they are ignoring a lot of bad tape that he's had," the scout said. "I don't think he has vision or pocket feel, which to me are the two most important components of quarterbacking. He's just running around winging it. He's (Michael) Vick, but not as good a thrower." Both of these testimonies are anonymous, and to be taken with a grain of salt. If there are ulterior motives for the criticism, we won't know, but one has to wonder if every team has RG3 rated as high as the Redskins are said to. web page

I, honestly, actually cannot think of an ulterior motive at this stage. With the Skins' trade up, it'll all but written in stone at this point, so it isn't very likely that this is some form of subterfuge or gamesmanship by another team attempting to manipulate things.
